We are unaware of the EA deals with FA (which btw would sell its own mother for money)....maybe there is a clause with anything to do with next gen machines and platforms (maybe including the PC too)...
Anyway I dont understand the reason why KONAMI doesnt sue EA on teh grounds of monopolising in EU institutions?

No, didnt delete anything - thought I'd try again, and the first time it failed saying "An Error Occurred". Second time, it went straight through...

I've just read its something to do with the latest PSN update and how that was installed on Pesfan.

I've seen a few people moaning about keepers - I've played roughly 60 matches so far and haven't seen a single obvious keeping error. Seriously, not a single one. :BLEH:

When you create the playlist and press enter, the PS3 (for some unknown reason) occasionally adds a space at the end of the name so instead of 'KONAMI_PES' your file is actually called 'KONAMI_PES_'

Same, I think some people turn on the the game looking and hoping for things to be wrong just so they can come on the internet and whinge.

I have both games.
While playing the other one (which i like a lot) my goalkeeper made a serious mistake which made me loose that match...i actually think it was a nice touch...
I haven't been playing PES2009 as much as "the other game", but i haven't seen goal keeper's mistakes uptil now.
I'm absolutely loving the Be A Legend mode in PES2009...IMHO it's better than the one in "the other game"...

Yeah I don't have the game yet (3 more days) but I suspect this type of complaint every year.
I reckon this is one of the reasons why KONAMI don't listen to the "fans".

I mean, if my keeper caught every ball that the CPU shot I would not be happy about it.

I wonder what the sales figures are like for PES 2009. Anyonne have an idea?

I have heared about people who said you should INSTALL PES 2009 to the harddisk first and after that installing the patch. Then you might not get that error.
I myself did it in this order and never got problems.

I downloaded the PS3 patch first (as that came out first!) and then when I got PES, I installed it on the HDD.

Have you done that Rad? (installed on HDD). The option is in the main menu 'Settings' I think...

I tell you what mate, a keeper pulled off a save against me that I have never seen in any PES game before, it was so good I have saved the highlights just for that one save.

I hit a shot from the edge of the box, which was going top corner and the keeper dived full length to his right and tipped it past the post for a corner. When I say tipped, it was literally his fingertips and there was just enough on it to get it past the post. When it happened I was like :WORSHIP: It looked great in the replay!

and then you shoot down the middle and the on one knee animate with foot outsretched shows and the ball goes in. Thats the problem its so unbalanced its frustrating, especially online where connect speed also comes into play with the keeper re-acting...

Wrong - I dont know where you read that or why you assume that. That is not true - just read the Adam's review at WENB - it is pretty spot on.

I mostly play offline with friends, but it is a shame if the online is again a lagfest like last year. I played PES5 online a lot in the past and was really smooth, even with my peruvian crappy connection.

As Adam said, Konami (Seabass) needs to listen to the fanbase or the next year would be even worse...

And he´s right. Is it possible that next year is even worse???? would be better to shut down the seabass franchise if that happen...

But if they quit they arrogance and finally decide to heard the fans they could make a much better game than the same sh** that they´ve been releasing year after year...

OK then, here's a video of one of the most annoying keeper errors that happens in every other game when I pass back to the keeper. Also this happens for me in both the PC and PS3 versions of the game.

This is unacceptable and completely ruins the game for me. The error in the video was a last minute pass back which cost me the game. This isn't a timing issue either as I pressed :circle: when the ball arrived at the keeper's feet.

konami can´t even make a 1 vs 1 decent online game... a playable 11 vs 11 only on xbox720 or PS4... if the game is still alive until there...

EA already have this tecnology, NHL09 have a feature that´s a MMO and it´s quite sucessefull... certainly FIFA10 will have this too

that´s true... EA sports games for PC are really bad comparing to next-gen consoles

Hmmm I am confused.

I have been playing the PS3 version and have really been enjoying it, that is until I played the 360 version today. To me it seems that the 360 version flows much better than the PS3 version, can't explain it but players seem to move much better and the pitch seems smaller. I enjoyed playing it and to me the 360 version looked better.

Hm, i've definitely seen some keeper errors/stupid things done by GK but not that much that it would really irritate me. But they sure need to make them more dynamic with loads more different animations/reactions depending on the situation in future versions.


Some situations were a real keeper would punch te ball over aren't good in the game, GK should do that much more in the game instead of a weird dangerous stop...

Hehe, you press the the sliding button.

Maybe it's better to use the :square: button and just kick it away... Dunno for sure, i also pass back to my keeper but never experienced something like that.
