They're adding more than just moving players around;

# Four new Spanish Licenses
# Updated rosters and kits
# Updated Champions League teams and badges
# Theatre of Legends mode

It's not a huge deal - as far as we know they didn't get the licenses until after a cut off date

EDIT: But not accessible!?

It's not a huge deal, but it's a tiny step in the right direction...i think they are well aware of certain short comings and that they need to act if they don't want to loose more customers to FIFA...

I think this is rather good news...maybe other teams will follow...

i think it´s a great deal if konami keeps updating the game with rosters kits and new licenses over the year, that´s deffinitly a good move.

Nope, you are right... I feel ashamed :(

LOL... what a game though. People are going to slag this off, but I'm loving it. The pace feels perfect, the ball is weighty enough, I've already seen enough random things in 3 games that leads me to believe its going to be really fun.

Finished my first BAL game and I lost 1-0, but got MOM (just) and felt I really contributed. There was a brilliant bit of interplay which involved me getting into space, calling for the ball and as it came, I noticed the left fullback charging up, so I dummied the ball and ran into the box - he then delivered and I headed wide.

But it felt so much more involving than BAP to be honest.

And then once I signed my contract, the options look quite meaty in the actual mode - but I really cannot play it any more at the moment. Oh the binds of working from home and sitting next to the PS3!

Will this affect our option files? Not sure I want to spend a few weeks getting everything sorted, then lose it all.

And you are scratching me right where I itch Mr Boreham! Really looking forward to BAL.

I thought the blue circles on the left were for each player to talk with each other - you press LB/L1 and up comes your quick chat pre set messages like 'pass' or 'sorry' 'good goal' and the 3 below yours are the other players.

.....

The socre that pops up on the right is online only from what ive read and the whole online legend mode is just one off matches where you try to get the best scores possible.

Offline BAL is basically fantastia (sp?) so none of the fifa style prompts

Yeah but that's LEGENDS mode.

On Become a Legend (offline, fantasia esque) where you normally have the strategy marks which you activate using :l2: and either :x::triangle::square::circle:, where you can set tactics up... all of them are replaced with blue circles which have numbers on.

Just wondered what they were that's all.

Ahhhhh... yea - I've seen those in my BAL games.

Not sure what they are, but must relate to tactics I reckon...

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

The game is on sale NOW in GAME in Glasgow. Sauchiehall street to be precise!

Only on PS3 and Xbox 360 though.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

Just got mine :)

Did a Champions League Exhibition - Roma v Sampdoria. 5 mins in, I cross from the right after some good build up... VUCINIC!!! Scissor kick into the roof of the net! Great start to the game and one of the only PES replays I have ever save! It looked so good.

I've registered the Konami ID thing - jeez, how much does this game NOT want to let you online! Nag screens, log ins etc... poor show.

If anyone isnt aware, under 'Settings' you can choose to 'Install Data'. This will load a lot of the data onto the HDD and speed up loading etc which is good - I'm doing it now. Looks a lot, few GB I'd say.

Righto - meant too be working, but after 1 quick game and a quick scout around I'm dead excited. Great to have the 'proper' PES back (in my eyes).

Catch ya'll online later - I've registered ingame as 'pbb76' but dont know how you find friends etc yet...

Agreed, The konami registration page is so damn confusing, a Konami id and a seperate game ID as well and the gameID password can only be numbers.... I managed to keep the GameID the same as my PSN to avoid confusion.

Had a quick game this morning, Atl Madrid (edited) vs Hull. Went 1-0 up and thought it was gonna be a piece of cake and then Windass scored a screamer from 25 yards with the outside of his right foot, went on to lose 3-1 after 2 headers from Turner. :CURSE:

Had a game as controlling 1 player with Barca to get the hang of it before I try BAL. Was having a very quiet game with Messi then with 10 minutes left I went flying over Carraghers outstretched leg, got him sent off. Yeah take that you scally!

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

that should be an automatic tactic, mjsmith2k. btw, what a simple username :/

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

Any stores in London selling it today? My local Zavvi have agreed to sell it if I point out that there is a another chain of game shops selling it early.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

I do!

You get to transfer between clubs, you don't have those "objectives" every game, you get to play several european cups, world cups, teams fighting for different objectives in different leagues... For me it's a much more complete experience.

Also, even though I reckon it is a matter of taste, the PES gameplay suits me better.

Cheers,

Paulo Tavares

[EDIT]

Sorry. I noticed I didn't necessarily say why it is better than BAP:Seasons. For me, BAP:Seasons became a grind because I play with lower teams, and it is a terrible experience after a while, to be pressured by your objectives, improving yourself in such a short term, and always playing against the same teams.

Also, BAP:Seasons somehow feels to me more "individualistic". I lose track of the team objectives, of being part of a team. The team winning, for me, becomes less important than me actually completing my objectives... Also, the fact that without my influence the games almost always end up with little shots from my team makes me feel even less part of the team, be it because I have to order them to shoot, or shoot by myself :|

In BAL, for good and for worse, you don't control anything of the other players, aside from getting them to pass the ball to your player...

Well, each to his own, but for me, I'll take BAL to BAP:Seasons. Nonetheless, those who stick to BAP:Seasons will also have a nice game in their hands, if that's their thing.

Best regards,

Paulo Tavares

You think it's better than Be A Pro: Seasons?

i think is better for 2 reasons:

1) you recive offers from different clubs depending on your performance, that's much more realistic and fun than pick a team and play on it

2) it doesn't less only 4 seasons, i guess you can play up to 14 or 15 seasons on BAL, that makes it longevity much better

agree with paulo :)

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

Yup, so far!

Like Paulo says above, there is much more to do and I actually found it more fun not being rated and told where to go. Gave me more freedom to go looking for the ball and making plays, rather than sticking to where the game wants me too to get points.

And all the other stuff, like transfers, getting released, international competitions etc.

Plus dont believe what was said before - you can use ANY camera for this mode and then also choose whether to follow the ball or your player.

Great mode and I am itching to get back too it :(

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

How do you do this Konami ID thing then?

I registered myself for the MG Online beta so i have a password and ID - do i have to do anything on the konami website or do you just put those details into the game to get it to work?

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

I think that your previous ID and password will do Rad

Yeah, i gave it a testrun yesterday evening with somewhat of a default player (didn't save it) just to try it out. It was really nice, camera position was sometimes confusing and needs some getting used to. I've scored a goal and gave an assist in the first match so that was nice!

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

Personally, I think I'll play it in wide cam, because it was the one I used in Fantasista.

Playing Player camera is just confusing, albeit an interesting experience to play at least once.

The Vertical wide camera has control problems, most of the time I don't dribble/pass to where I want to.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

Yeh, was reported a week or so back.

Looks fun though!
