Niiiiice...

I reckon (if someone had the time/patience) you could get the dots on by putting them on the sponsor graphic?

Great effort though, be looking to re-create that today :)

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

ok i just played my first online match and it was 100% lag free, felt just like a offline match and it was great ;)

I was having a nightmare with online to be honest. Every time I played the connections was yellow vs yellow or yellow vs red. No green at all. It was better than 2008 but not upto the levels of PES6 online (which was by no means perfect itself). I hope that Seabass puts his bong down long enough to make online top priority as per his interview this week or "I predict a riot"

Had a couple of fun matches with Pompey online though. Defoe and Crouch are great fun to work with.

My other big gripe online is the bloody generic kits you are forced to used - bloody awful. "Tyneside" are all black (no stripes), Atl Madrid are all dark green??? Why on earth do Konami make no effort to make the unlicensed teams at least look close (without emblems and logos). I managed to do it in about 20 minutes. I know a transfer patch is in the offing but I would be even more chuffed if Konami spent 20 minutes on doing this as well.

EDIT: I have just booted the game up and it is downloading an update.....

I assume you have to play with the default teams/kits online?

Can you update us ASAP with the patch news!?

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

I have just loaded up the game, its downloaded 24mb and installed it. However, When the game booted it came up "An error has occured" and then continued to load as normal. I'll report back once I've been in the lobbies. I will play as Man U or someone to see if Berbatov is there and also see if lag is any better.

For my online profile I had to pick my favorite player, as Wales aren't licensed it had to be "EATONBROOK".

EDIT: This patch hasnt installed properly or it does nothing. Lag and teleporting are worse than ever and playing as Man City - no updated players.

Yea, being reported all over that the patch is borked for now! Typical Konami!!!

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

PS3:

I played one online game and I assume I was the client, the lag was there and it didn't feel like an offline game at all. On the plus side it wasn't as bad as last year. The servers were pretty full though...:)

Some old twats on there, he choose Man U so I thought I would go with Everton to spice it up a bit and then at the last minute he changed to Inter Milan. Only lost 2-3 though with the little bits of lag.

Would rather play mates online tbh.

As for the game it is an improvement on 2008 in all aspects but its not a massive leap forward by any means but at least its going in the right direction. If you liked the demo then you will like it. My main disappointment was online, but other than that it was fun and I will be on again later to test it again.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

PES2009 for £27 from Asda. Goes onsale at midnight!

Ouch... dont know if I'll bother pre-ordering any more. £10 saving for the sake of 1 day is a big difference.

Where did you see that advertised?

Anyway, the squads in the game have made me laugh - apparantly Villa have Paul Robinson AND Brad Friedal!

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

It is being advertised in most tabloid papers today.

Agree that the price war that the supermarkets seem to have started is going to lead to cheap prices or special offers on launch day of games and is going to really hit online retailers. For the time being I am going to cancel my pre-orders for forthcoming games and see if these crazy launch offers continue.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

It's on HotUKDeals mate. I'm not gonna bother pre-ordering now, supermarkets are leading the way with prices and I'd be happy to wait for a day to save £10 as well.

i too enjoyed the demo actually but i may get this on the pc though, the mods will make this game brillient but just need a firm confirmation that the online has been fixed.

£18 for the pc version as well

Hi for those people with the game already. On BAL, how do you get the score to appear on the right hand side? Also do you get clues that tell you you are running out of position, poor pass etc? So far all I can see in game is four blue buttons but don't have a clue what they are telling me. It's not in the manual and can't seem to find it online.

I was hoping for something like the the online LEGENDS mode which looks like this.

Hope they havent taken that out, I liked the idea of that.

EDIT: looks like thats online in the image - hope its not an online only thing :(

Think the 4 blue buttons are the 'skip replay' thing - so you can see who wants to skip and when everyone skips, the replay stops??

Sorry, I mean next to your name where the strategy markers normally are in a normal game. These are replaced with 4 blue circles that have numbers on them

See next to the Maik VG name there's a '1'

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

Been reading around. The markers are for Legend ONLY and those blue indicators in offline BAL are mearly counting how many passes/shots/through balls and crosses you make.

That looks great, much better than I'd of hoped the Southend kit looking. I haven't had time to try myself yet but doubt it'd look better than that. So, without catching up and reading the last pages, does it seem people find the edit mode very good but the online side still debatable?

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

Just got mine :)

Did a Champions League Exhibition - Roma v Sampdoria. 5 mins in, I cross from the right after some good build up... VUCINIC!!! Scissor kick into the roof of the net! Great start to the game and one of the only PES replays I have ever save! It looked so good.

I've registered the Konami ID thing - jeez, how much does this game NOT want to let you online! Nag screens, log ins etc... poor show.

If anyone isnt aware, under 'Settings' you can choose to 'Install Data'. This will load a lot of the data onto the HDD and speed up loading etc which is good - I'm doing it now. Looks a lot, few GB I'd say.

Righto - meant too be working, but after 1 quick game and a quick scout around I'm dead excited. Great to have the 'proper' PES back (in my eyes).

Catch ya'll online later - I've registered ingame as 'pbb76' but dont know how you find friends etc yet...

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

i really dont like this game even though been a pro evo fan since ISS...i'll give it another week...anyone know if the 360 version can be patched?

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

I thought the blue circles on the left were for each player to talk with each other - you press LB/L1 and up comes your quick chat pre set messages like 'pass' or 'sorry' 'good goal' and the 3 below yours are the other players.

The socre that pops up on the right is online only from what ive read and the whole online legend mode is just one off matches where you try to get the best scores possible.

Offline BAL is basically fantastia (sp?) so none of the fifa style prompts

Sound: 8.6 - The sound does let the game down slightly thanks to the poor crowd effects.

that's ridiculous and contradictory. Another biased review. When will the reviewers finally learn praising an average(or bad) game doesn't help to improve it.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

Agreed. I'd love to know their definition of original.

But at least its picking up decent review scores at last.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

9.9 for originality is absurd.

Once onto the pitch, Pro Evo certainly plays a more patient game of football than FIFA, in fact I would go as far to say that it is more realistic when compared to real football than EA’s approach

Quite different from other reviews as it seems some scored Fifa down for being to realistic in comparison to Pro Evo.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

after playin it a few time...i cant really give it a rating jus yet but this is feeling worse to pes 2008...hope my mind changes after some more games...

Its not better than 2008? come on! Surely you feel otherwise?
