a bit too loud and not very diffuse...

....but freakin awesome, dude.

we should simply import the chants from FIFA :D

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

hello fellow pes fans, after much waiting for the new pro evo i have been reading this site a lot over the last couple of days so i thought i would sign up and share my experianc, luckily (if you can say that now) my copy arrived this morning. i have never truly enjoyed a pes game on the xbox 360 (pes6 was the best so far), the best game i have played was the last to be released for the original xbxox but i felt pes6 was a step forward and could be improved on given time... here comes the bad news pes6 was as good as it gets for the next gen online, pes2008 was unplayable and im sorry to report pes 2009 is even worse. dont belive what you read about the servers not being turned on yet, thats bull the game does not have dedicated servers the same thing happened last time, my connection is 10 meg down and 1.5 meg up this connection is perfect for pretty much every other 360 game, every match i have played today has involed players teleporting, glitching with the ball and basically just lagging so dam bad
every person i have played against has reported the same thing im astounded that konami have had the balls to release this game.
oh and dont even get me started on the dam screen tearing

offline there is a few nice touches with the menus edit options and game modes, but i dont care about that i play pes to go against someone not the cpu, and this years game seems a step back even from 2008, i would go as far to say the demo was much better than the final cut, a lot of player animations now seem forced and kind of glitchy nothing like the smoothness i have come to expect over the years, belive me when i say i have always been a pro evo fan, i was the person who would laugh when fifa was brought up in the convo, but the harsh fact of the matter is if you wat to play a football game online fifa 09 is your only option, to play against your mates stick with pes 2008. at the very least rent this game before you but it, konami will only understand that this is just not good enough if we hit them where it hurts, in the pockets.

today is a sad day for pes in my eyes, i wanted so much to like this game but i feel this may be the begining of the end.

(oh ps you can NOT play 2v2 using the same 360, not that you would want to after you see how bad it is)

sorry to sound so negative friends, but i just feel very angry right now.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

if i understand you, you're saying in the video they still had for example diff colour of shorts. With monaco-psv both of the teams looked completely white in the back of the players (front had some red in it for monaco's shirt), so both had white shorts, just another style/colour at the number and maybea a bit different socks (dunno for sure it's been a while), but i cursed hard about it, cuzz adding this option that was already present on previous versions can't be that hard and would solve it totally, this really sucked cuzz that team was in my masterleague and it just wouldn't relegate (got close to it although)

It was enough of a clash for me...

And yeah it sucks, but what also makes me laugh is people getting excited at the supposed 3rd kit of Man U in the WE2009 clip. It shows Man U in blue, playing against Barcelona, also in all blue except half of their shirt. Now if there were THREE kit options why would anyone pick the most clashing ? Just suggests to me that there's a clash waiting to happen in WE2009 as well and there are only two kits, even if they do have a CL logo.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

Im playing right now on pc , to bad that they havent updated tranfers :/

Ahar!

You quoted him and edited his text!

I see what you did there, you card!

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

Amazing chants dude. Amazing.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

Master League 2nd division has 12 teams....
Now im convinced that there is a license clause...that forbids them even to allow remotely approach any league structure....thanks god for the teamserver...

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

Nice chants on that vid, but why on earth does the clock stop at 89.59:D Must be a PC thing

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

Right I have the game and here are my views after a lot of games:

How anyone can think Pro Evo is a good game anymore is beyond me. I tried liking it but its just impossible. Its absolutely nothing like real football, the animations are robotic, and it's way too fast. Everything relies on speed far too much. Pass the ball to Ronaldo or Henry on the wing and all you have to do is sprint past players. I've tried this both against AI and friends.

I would even go as far as saying it's worse than PES2008 which I enjoyed to an extent. All the immature people here will probably call me a "FIFA fan loLZzzz" but this is my opinion. PES is purely now an arcade football game and a really bad one at that. And before you say "but it's fun".. how can anyone find something like this fun? The last match I played against my mate was 8-3 to him. He had Henry on a red arrow for form and the player cheats were so obvious it was ridiculous. He was just walking through my players and every tackle on him did nothing.

It's a shame because they get quite a few things right, the edit mode for example is great. It feels like the Champions League mode is there to cover up what little work they've done on the game.

Very very disappointed.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

@ Oli 8-3 Holy crap!!! did you at least leave the R1 button?

PS I'm not saying your opinion sucks it just seems really hectic.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

Ok, played a couple of matches yesterday, the feeling of ball control is like playing an "arcade", the sound of the ball changing feet is terrible and annoying at the same time. I have tried to change music and import my MP3s but some files CRASH the came completely.

Non FIFA or PES is good this year.

Lets hope that Konami releases a game play update very soon.

Ok i was disappointed last year but got used to the PES2008 but this year i feel that i don't have a decent footie.

Have PS3 version: same shit online.

@Seabass: This Year ONLINE will have Priority...

Yeah yeah yeah.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

Didn't someone post a few pages ago that they've said the servers aren't running properly yet and won't be until the official release date?

Save your breath Rad, some people are happy to jump on the bad before they know the facts...

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

Yes the servers are not fully operational, however I dont believe that there will be huge improvemnet ( which is needed ) on 16th. I hope I am wrong.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

Please anyone , have u played Be a legend already ? Do u have same problems as I did ? BAL mode keeps crashing in my game every time season comes to Konami Cup.

Same here. We might be suprised come the 16th, but I'm not expecting much TBH. But its pointless of people to slag off the online at the moment when the game isnt even officially released for another 4 days!

I'm sure Konami will be tweaking the servers up until the last minute (and beyond).

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

Spent a few hours on the 360 version last night. So I'm going to post my early opinion and see how much it changes over the next week or so.

A lot of the wrongs of 2008 have been fixed - BUT still doesnt play like the PS2 version. At the moment I could happily go back to WE2008JL

Pros

Feels a bit more like what we are used to
some nice animations
Graphics look very next gen
Sound of the post being struck =O)
I like the new menu system
Edit mode seems to be getting back to old glories
Keepers seems better with long range shots, 50/50 with close range

Cons (including grumbles)

Sound in general (Melon + hammer = kick ball?)
Pass selection (can be questionable at best)
Computer player runs (big gaps - please run into them!)
Teams do not hold formations (wingers infield, full backs unbalanced)

It feels like konami know how a lot of the goals are scored in this game and have tried to plug the gaps to stop this. (Why is this a bad thing) fast players through on goal get caught up really easily. I had one where a player dived in for the challenge i went round him sprinted in on goal and he was up and diving in on a challenge on me to block the shot!

shooting seems to have change a lot - placing into the opposite corner seems a challenge at the moment. 30 yards = strike - 35 yards = balloned into stand.

Slow gameplay is good - but players can still be quick ?(They all feel so slow)

Auto tricks - or pad based tricks - WHY? how many do you do by accident? should be able to turn these on or off.

My early impression is that the "other" one was stronger to pick up and play (I have found it a bit repetative and stopped playing to test pro evo). I am hoping that once I am used to 2009 I will grow into it more.

Will post back in a week to see how the game settles on me.

I have no idea how PES08 was. I played the first next gen version of PES than was on the 360 - I think it was PES6? and I hated it. I ended up hating the FIFA games on next gen as well and had fun playing the PS2 versions of FIFA for a few years.

I think I tried PES 08... I can't remember. But FIFA is annoying me more and more now;

I'm just looking for something different and fun and I couldn't give a toss if it has PES on the front cover or FIFA or EA or 2K Sports or even if I went and dug out some PS1 classics like Libero Grande or Actua Soccer and had a kick about with them for a few months.

I've not really noticed any fanboy stuff before this week when I came into here and now I see what Mart was on about in the thread about adding a FIFA editing section.

There are a lot of people going around mouthing off - I read about someone who finally convinced his mates to buy FIFA over PES and I was thinking 'why did you do that... what difference does it make to your life if your friends are playing something they want to play and enjoying it?'

But then I see people in here who are posting how the games shit or how its better than anything that has come before it. A bit OTT. I thought FIFA 09 was great but a week later it's annoying me. So saying PES09 is the best ever or worst ever after a demo or a few days is crazy.

I'm going to give it a rent and see how I feel after a week or 2 and then see how the FIFA patch sorts that game out and make my decision based on that.

I just hope the PS3 gets some editing love and the focus isn't just on 360 patches and the PS3 has to pick up the dregs from those patches.

PES2009 too fast and you've played PES2008? I seriously began to doubt about your review when I read that stuff.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

omg please konami remove those F...#!&%%3 Commentary , my ears are bleeding :CONFUSE: .. And the chants... OMG :R1

Otherwise the game is good :):APPLAUD:

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

After playing the whole day yesterday, i think the game is not that bad as i said before. It is by far better than pes2008. I played online (xbox360) with a greek friend (4 matches) and there was no lag, slowdown or anything like that. I also played with an english person and again the game was normal...

In gameplay, there is a slow pace (thats good), and the players dont make runs so easy as in pes2008. Even C.Ronaldo and Adriano can be stopped now. Shots are slower in power.

The only thing that bothers me, is the weird running animation of the players, the auto feint thing, and the fact that for the dribbles we are using the left diagonal pad or stick! Who in the hell thought this? Mercy!

And the other mistake by Konami is the very very outdated transfers! Rivaldo and Dellas still in AEK Athens? Mercy...

If we exclude these, the game is good and fun to play. There are no more scores like 5-5,5-4 etc. The game is harder and better...

Glad to hear you have given it another chance Polakis after yesterdays outburst!

The transfers should be fixed with the rumoured 'official roster downloads' from Konami - apparantly one should be launching with the game - and of course, there is always the great option files that will be released (or even edit them yourself).

Still sounds good though, thanks!

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA TALK OR POLITICAL CHAT)

I read on the official Ps3 mag they're doing an update for transfers - is Rivaldo still there after an update?

Can we edit transfers ourselves?

Dont think you have to worry about the patching as the PS3 will be focussed on I'm sure as PES is a 'Playstation' game and a lot of people will get it on PS3 - plus the PS3 has more options (i.e. importing more graphics and mp3s).

If you go back a few pages, you will see the screenshots of the first option file that (i think) WENB are working on and it looks superb - even has West Ham's square on the front of the shirt!
