EA have more money than 2K Sports as well but its never stopped 2K sports making the better NFL games and to this day they still make the better NBA game than EA does. Whats your next excuse?

I don't know..

The guy who's playing the game is one of the creaters of pesnorge.net (PES-Norway). He received the final version of the game on monday.

best review so far! tells absolutelly the tru about the game, nothing new, same old problems and still worse than PS2 version. they don't give good score only to get the game early next year like some other sites around... too bad that the comunity still support the game even being the same old s**** after all those years. i wish i still had my PS2 to keep playing the (still) best version of the game!

no, i want that people complain about the game so konami makes a GOOD GAME, like they made for PS2 years! they simply DIDN'T EVOLUTE SINCE! i really don't understand how people don't get tired of buying the same game year after year... i am totally tired of it... the only reason that some people think PES2009 is a good game is only becouse they are comparing to last year version that was absolutely sad... but if you compare the game to a PS2 version you see NO EVOLUTION AT ALL!

2 different schools of thought. I am the opposite. I'm not gonna pay and play crap just because I enjoyed it 3 years ago! Pure and simple. I also don't support companies. Only the GOOD products they produce. In other words, I'm not gonna eat feces just because my wife serves it to me. But, if that's your decision, then it must be respected. I hope Konami get back on track. I too remember the good ol days. PES5, pound for pound my fave footy game ever and I dont think Fifa 09 (pound for pound) will match it. Mainly cause I loved the editing and the practice pitch!

Agreed! Aside from the money, I think EA actually cares about their work now. Over at the official fifa forum, 3-4 of the guys including the lead producer are active on the forums taking questions, suggestions and sharing info/thoughts with the community. In fact, the lead producer, david Rutter has been active on the forums even during his holiday!

The fact that Peter Moore is now head of EA Sports is why things are turning around too. He is a huge Liverpool supporter and I think his love for football transcends into the teams spearheading each EA Sports game. Even NHL 2009 has surpassed NHL 2K9...by a long shot. Many reviewers are even saying its the best NHL game ever made. And now DeadSpace looks to be a winner too. Things are changing at EA! I was never an EA fan but I do respect their current track record. That's what I want to see from Konami.

So, support Konami so EA doesnt run away with it? It's sad that its come down to this. Konami should put out agreat next gen game to avois the monopoly! The ball is in their court. They need to be proactive and get on the ball already. I remember whwn I supported Konami cause they made the best footy title on the market. How the mighty have fallen. Anyway, it is true that we should not pull for amonopoly. Look what happened to NFL 2K! I thought that 2K made the best NFL games. Even now, I still prefer those to EA's Madden series. I really cant get into Madden for some reason. C'mon Konami!

Problem is that some people thinks that the game is good. But not everyone can bear that. What a shame... if you cannot tolerate different opinions, a forum is not the place for you. Specially a thread where people talks about PES and dont give a s*** to members that just bash the game.

Agreed. My first impression was that this years PES was disappointing, but after giving it a good chance I'm REALLY enjoying it. Have been playing the demo for hours on end and have barely touched Fifa since. For me, although Fifa's presentation and graphics are far superior, is just too unresponsive and sluggish, whereas despite PES's problems it's still a LOT of FUN! So yeah, it's a shame the sound and graphics aren't better and the animations aren't a little smoother, but with a little editing these problems will be minimized. At the end of the day it's about the gameplay for me, and IMO this is where PES beats Fifa convincingly. And whichever game we choose to play, we can all be happy that for the first time in a long time,there are 2 decent footy games on the market.

I tried to play pes 2009 with my friend yesterday, we used to play pes6 only, and he doesn’t have ps2 or ps3, he said the players are very retarded when they run, we couldn’t even finish one game, the whole game is a pile of shit, when we went back to pes6, it was a huge difference in game play...i don’t think pes will success in next gen consoles for the next years

I could never play PES6, WE10 i found much much better, more balanced, PES6 was way too easy and off balance. Maybe that's why I like PES2009 demo?

animations are not part of the graphics :SS

Its the presentation, and its a HUGE part of it, its animation that makes every player feel and look different...its animation that makes the shooting look good

animation is huge and it used to be awesome on the PS2 days, great running animation etc

do you want me to tell you what my biggest problems with the game is? being able to turn 90 degrees over and over again without losing balance or looking like losing balance is just stupid(and unrealistic), passes are so fast yet players dont have trouble controlling it(unrealistic), ping pong football....i can go on

i just cant see how people think this is actually a great game....especially people who played the PES games in the PS2/xbox1 days, PES09 is an insult to those games

turning is a collision/physics engine...how players wave their arms while running is animation...so please dont confuse animation with physics...
oh and in my demo the passes are 40-50% slower than in 2008....

Well, most of the "flamers" in here, like myself are PES/WE veterans. Ill be the first to say that PES was king of footy games and Fifa a huge pile! Some of us aren't in denial and some of us don't have a sick attachment to a company. I guess those who express their dislikes for the game are automatically flamers then. Alot of us think that the PES 2009 demo is inferior and looks and plays like shite especially for a next gen game. Forget about Fifa, compare this PES demo to any other sports title (next gen) out there and you will see a huge difference. I gurantee you that if you played abasketball game with the physics, animations, framerate of PES demo, you'd think it were apile too. It's our assesment of the demo. Sure some might say, "it's gameplay...bla bla bla.." It's all rhetoric now. Even the gameplay is very mediocre, imo. I think many of us also want a new fresh experience from Konami. The series is super stagnant. Sorry but some things run their course. It's nice to move on and expect new things in your games.

I've noticed that pretty much every time you post you make something up that can actually be measured and proven untrue.

Passes are no faster than "usual" in PES games.

Even so, isn't the point of top level football to be able to control fast passes, otherwise what's what makes those players better at control than rubbish ones ? Seeing as the only PES2009 out there at the moment has 2005's European Cup Winners (and 2007's runners up) as probably the worst team on the demo, I'd be expecting an EXTREMELY high standard of control from most players, based on their skill ratings.

its PES fans like you why the series has not gone forward instead gone backwards and doesnt intend to go back(to how good it used to be) either because people like you will always love it no matter how shit it is because it has PES on the box

EDIT: seriously, if you played FIFA demo and it played exactly like PES09 what would you say? clumsy, unresponsive, unrealistic.. etc. PES09 without the history or whatever is an absolute embarrassment of a next gen football game

Mate stop talking shit. One of my biggest gripes with Fifa is player individuality. And one of the most awe inspiring things about Fifa is the animations, which is a complete contradiction of what you saying.

When I play PES especially the ML you can feel the quality of the player. I mean if you bought Aissati in PES2008 you would FEEL the quality of the player and see his passing and dribbling and tackling improve.

and no you are not a fifa fanboy you're worst than that you are a bandwagon jumper who believes things that he hears or reads on the net and regurgitates this over and over again.
