Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I got a 48 hour code so I can have a look at it in a bit :)
At the moment there is a bit of confusion about the availabillity of photo-capturing in PES 2009 in the Xbox version. You know, to make a player with your own face in BAP creating.
Some say it's in some say it isn't.
Please help us out :)

Hey Han, every forum I goto I see you've been busy on the case of PES-09 as well. I was scanning my H/D and found I still had a video of you playing WE2002 against me where I cleared one off the line when you were about to score :-)

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I'm just curious about the Champions League license as it pertains to Pro Evolution. I heard somewhere that Konami might have to release a separate game for the CL as UEFA mandated it or something like that. I thought that it was BS and just another way for people to try and defend EA for trying to squeeze more money out of the consumer for an extra game but it appears that PES has actually implemented the entirety of the tournament into the game. Was this always that plan and did they have to come to some agreement with UEFA or was it always possible for any developer with the license to do with it what they please?

I hate to clutter the boards but I guess nobody saw my question the first time.

LOL was that the match that ended 3-2? That was about 5-6 years ago :)
Nowadays I mainly play online on LIVE with guys on the Dutch site digitaalgras where I myself organize tournaments. We played at ISS Extreme didn't we? :)

I'd be surprised if they've completely removed the Live Vision Cam capture that they had last year, as they've enhanced it in the PS3 version to allow face modelling (size of the cheeks, eyes, jaw, nose etc), compared to last year's standard "round head with nose". I don't expect they'll have picture file imports though.

Which is actually making me want a PS3 at a time when I can least afford it, FFS. Maybe I'll try the PC version. :/

Vision cam - yes
Import off HDD/USB/Xport - no
Pixel Paint - yes

PC and PS3 can use images off HDD or USB :))

LOL everybody loves MCDonalds hehehe

Seems that WE series is getting back to where it was: a different option to PES.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Sounds like speculation to me. I doubt it, personally.

If that was in response to my comment I know that PES has the license included, but EA always said that UEFA wanted a separate game. I thought it was BS, but does anyone know if Konami had any such restrictions?

Okay, thank you very much.
That means I need to upload an option file to have all batches and logo's using Xport rather than pictures...

Are you going to play on-line tonight to try things out?

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Am I wrong or the japan version seems to be better than EUR version?

I feel it more fluid and nice to see, don't you?

For me seems the same game, but don't quote me on that. Usually WE was better than PES.

But I wonder wont the copyright people of EPL get their hands on WENB? Like happened at that UK PESFAN site?

Thats a good point. Don't they have more important things to concern themselves with instead of stopping people implementing virtual kits on a computer game. I guess not

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

The more I play the demo the more I like

I had a spare hour and was gonna play fifa09 after a quick blast of this but ended up playing the demo over and over.

it deffo harks back to PES on the PS2, no question there, but it is a refined version.

some of the animations are shite. FACT. and in this depatment it is blown out of the water by FIFA09 (which I rate very highly this year)

If there was a sliding scale of simulation I would say FIFA09 is too conservative esp when dribbling and pr evo is abit too liberal.

but there is something about pr evo (except last years) that allows you to be inventive in your play that is not possible in FIFA.

I think anything is possible in PES. you can keep your finger on the sprint button and make it into an arcade game(esp last year -not so much this) or you can pass it about with a slow build up. the major reason why I still prefer PES over FIFA is how it allows you to pass in tight situations..

the passing in FIFA is fantastic but when your around the box it seems a bit slow to respond when you want to do a quick passing move to carve open a tight defence. in PES as soon as you see an opertunity you can take advantage of it, its almost like when your playing FIFA you are controlling the player and telling him what to do but with PES you ARE the player with the ball. so the quality of the move is as good as your own football brain.

also PES lets you beat a man when dribbling using body movement. I feel this is a major weak point for FIFA. if your KAKA you should be able to beat a man with sharp turns and faints without having to use the trick stick.
PES has a 'Jink' button in R2 - which has actualy been tonned down a bit this year. get a player like kaka on the ball you feel like you can take someone on, give it to Phil neville and his reactions are too slow so you pass the ball on.
This brings me on to individuality. FIFA still hasnt mastered this yet. as well as the dribbling thing I still feel no more confident on the ball with Xavi than I do with Bramble.

so because of all this PES is still my wepon of choice. I am playing FIFA09 at the moment and enjoying it. the anmimations, pace of the game and shooting (i use semi) is fantastic, But I can see ProEvo taking me through until next october.

cheers

I agree with you fully. There's just something about that demo that kept me playing and screaming at the TV for like 2 hours last nite. It's really grown on me, if you play it like it was meant to be played, dare I say it, it's the most fun I've had with PES for years. Definitely a deep game, a few little niggles and the usual 8 direction fripes, but it's a very solid game of footie. You really notice the difference between Ronaldo and Scholes for instance when controlling, passing, shooting, dribbling..the forwards dive in to crosses, the tight passing is very good (although sometimes obviously bad passes still his the target despite the defender being RIGHT THERE TO cut it out)..

Overall, had a blast, the more I play it, the more I play like a game of football is supposed to play, the more I like.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

It wouldn't matter anyway, by the time the legal action was threatened the files would be all over the web.

Thats the same thing as piracy: copyright infrigment aka theft...

If they do, they are sad,sad people. Have enough money as it is and a few fans just want their game to look better. But surely isn't it creative license to make your game to look how it looks and then send it on to people if you want to?
