Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

They lost the La Liga license only a few months ago. That photo must have been taken before that... PESfan already confirmed that Atletico Madrid is not licensed. They and WENB have the final version of the game...

Cheers

I don't think so...If you look carefully Van der Vaart is dressing brand new Red Total 90...I assume that WE2009 is going to have new licensed teams

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I doubt that but it would be great if that's true...

There were some earlier PES2009 screenshots in which the Nike boots were visible, AND some unlicensed La Liga teams still had the right kits - they were released before the batch that came out showing licensed Liverpool with Torres in the unlicensed plain yellow boots, I wouldn't be surprised if it was just produced along with those, we're all more than aware of their "batched screenshot" laziness now !

Incidentally, while we're discussing boots does anyone else think it's a bit lame that there are only 16 types and we can't even change the colour of the palette on the plain Konami boots, never mind the licensed ones ? I mean surely having one colour of each style is restrictive - there isn't a yellow boot in the game at ALL now, and you just can't have one, whilst IRL there's a yellow +F50 and a yellow Total 90 which you simply can't recreate. If they've gone to the trouble of getting the boots in, you'd think allowing a limited range of the last year's colourways per boot would be better for Konami AND the boot manufacturers in terms of profile and free advertising.

And as for wondering if the licensing means changing the palettes of licensed boot colours wouldn't be allowed, just wait for Arsenal v Man Utd and check out the Nike boots in that one next week. ;)

One more thing, has ANYONE managed to get a decent hi-res screenshot of the kit templates in edit mode yet - for a start I want to know if all 3 shirt pattern layers are the same 81 styles or if there are different patterns on different layers ?

WENB showed the edit mode but they flew through the template scrolling and only showed one layer (and not the shorts or socks either).

I'm also assuming there's no way to change the layers around as well - though of course if the 3 sets of layer templates were identical there would be no need to.

Sounds like an excuse mate. It's extremely rare to hear this type of thing. Extremely! Plus you have to be right next to the mic! Of course, those offended by criticism of PES will defend it at all costs.

Sorry but that kind of criticism on a game looks like the kind of just wanting to critisize it on points that really don't matter too much. (I don't know the englisch word for the expression of 'mierenneuker' but that come to my mind when i read it)

And indeed sometimes you hear players shouting through mic's but it's not that common, but if something minor like this is bothering someone a lot playing a game then they should stop playing games cuzz i haven't played a game in my life where there were no points that i would like to see changed for the better...

Sorry but I am sure you cannot customize(or just change color) boots...Neither Nike/Adidas/Puma nor Original Pes ones.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

is there really going to be live transfer updates...or is konami just getting our hopes up once again.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

i dont know if its already been posted before, but the R2 button (tapped twice) is a call for a pass, when you control only one player. look at the cursor and you will see that it´s blinking.

they had it in pes5 and pes6 too, but but it wasnt in pes2008

Yeah, I know you can't change the boot colours in the game, that was obvious about a fortnight ago when the stills of the boot edit mode didn't have an "edit" option, only "rotate" buttons. I was just saying that I WANTED to be able to, and there was no particular reason that we shouldn't be able to.

Regarding the Arsenal v Man U thing, I was referring to this "crossing the line of acceptability" debacle :

http://www.footy-boots.com/arsenal-manchester-united-nike-football-boots-4968/

Though with a proper boot pallette we'd actually even be able to recreate those if we wanted. It's possible because last gen versions have been hacked to do it, and hell, we know the code hasn't changed much.

To be honest I can't see why they don't sort it out so players' appearances have a "range" not a fixed setting, so you can have successive similar hairstyles that show the hair "growing" during a season then one to show it has been cut, or to have players who have a *choice* of appropriate branded boots selectable in the team selection menu before kick off (or left to default style).

Of course, making the game play well is the most important thing, but these are all suggestions that are easily implementable with a bit of effort, and they're customisations that PES needs for aesthetic realism to combat FIFA's licenses.

That and non-sweeping-brush-for-a-spine animations !

Yes, Seabass in an interview a month ago.

Ah, he DID say that then ? I couldn't remember. I do vaguely recall there being some mention of DLC as well - presumably boots and maybe shirts, maybe even kit templates, but I guess there's been nothing specific mentioned since ?

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Well, what he mentioned was that he was thinking about a transfer-update by the end of januari. That's one of the things I remember.
He said there will be DLC around every 3 months.
I have the feeling that Konami wil start with a DLC at the release, which would be a smart thing that more Game-companies do...

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Really liking it that the edit mode is back, it was added insult to injury it wasnt there last year.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

WENB say 40 slots for Emblems but Pesfan are saying 200 slots for imported images in total. This is confirmed in a new video of Edit mode they have posted in the 2009 Q+A thread. WENB also say emblems can't be created for National teams. (Hopefully flags can still be turned off and images imported instead)

WENB have also posted a new video and in it Adam briefly mentions "Online has a bit of lag (but nowhere near as bad as last year)" :CURSE:

Can you give me the link of that video? I cannot find it. cheers!

EDIT: Found it. Unfortunately, that is the PC version with 200 slots. And that is irrelevant in PC since Kitserver exists and even with a poor edit mode of PES 2008, with Kitserver you can fix everything you want.

Even van der vaart number is different from demo in wich he is 9. In real life he is 23 and he should be better player in PES! but for konami he will only be good when he appears on magazines and television.
