Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

The smaller teams would be good yeah, but it's not like the general football gaming populace helps themselves when they solely use, Brazil, France, Italy, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Man Utd, both Milans, Barcelona and so on.

Also I was well behind this when Portsmouth were languishing in Division 1 but now we've just been drawn against AC Milan in the UEFA cup so f u all.

edit: >: D

Those poor Milan bastards are going to need quarantine to get out of your shovelhole come November.

And what's all this about languishing in the second tier ? It's the place to be (and preferably without any adults in the team). ;)

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

just playing the demo again (was bored) and i payed attention to the sound and you could hear the players on the pitch shouting in a full stadium :? WHAT.....THE....FUCK

HAve Konami ever watched a football match? when do you hear Rooney shout "PAAAASS" on Tv? its official....Konami are fucking retarded, and there is no way to turn those sounds off without turning off the crowd noise

seriously konami........just wow, what an awful game...seriously think PES08 was better and that game was awful!! but atleast it was smoother

i buy both footy games every year but for the first time ever i think i am gonna cancel my PES09 pre order...its just not fun to play, releasing the demo was a mistake(for konami) because now i see how poor it is

Ah well, for every one of you, not buying due to the demo, there's one of me, actually getting the game because of the demo.

And be happy, now you don't have to worry about Man U's shirts being too red.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Lower leagues are a big part of football, I think they should be included even if they are fake. That said, the Football League license isn't exclusive is it? I remember that in one year didn't FM, FIFA and Virtua Pro Football (which was awful) have it licensed all in the same year? Surely Konami could get it as well as other games?

I agree on this, if Konami are going to make a really BIG push for next years game then they really need to increase the depth of whats available in the game. Since PES5/6 they always settle for the same amount of Club and National teams and it wasn't even like that was filling up a Single Layer of DVD data (4.7gb).

The game is on a BluRay disc these days so they should easily be able to bring in more leagues so that you can actually play back to back league seasons with Promotions/Relegations. They should move quick on the FL license before EA go and lock that one up too!

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I'm absolutely shocked that they haven't revamped the Master League.

What shocks me is that whenever somebody gets to speak to Seabass they never ask him why no changes with masterleague?

I assume the problem there was they didn't know they'd get the license until late in the development phase, so they haven't been able to fully incorporate what is obviously a natural fit.

I refuse to say "still, they might do it next year" at this point when I haven't even got this year's game yet.

Speaking of which, I'm looking forward to WENB getting some Edit Mode kit pictures out there tonight.

One of the lads on PESfan with his promo copy said something about 200 edit slots for importing images. That would be absolute quality if true. Could get a badge and sponsor on every unlicensed team with enough left to sort out the Nationals as well.

On the number of teams front, I just want a shedload of slots to fill up - now there's a face capture picture import mode (see http://www.pcaction.de/?menu=browse...ity_id=-1&image_id=915968&overview=yes&page=2 ) creating realistic looking teams is simple, so just give me empty slots, a tournament creation structure and a decent in game stat and appearance editor (preferably a spreadsheet-like db with search features and a sort option) and I'll happily tootle off and do it all myself.

I think the more and more licenses Konami lose (which given EA's ££££££ is bound to happen) they need to beef up edit mode more and more to compenstae.

Having a game with the league structures and management side of FIFA with PES's gameplay.....oooh goodbye social life.

With the image import you can create logo, badge and sponsor all on one image. That's on PS3 anyway, but I'm on 360, and I suspect due to the whole USB/file importing issue the excellent (but more like hard work) in-game editor which now covers the whole of the front of the shirt will be all I get.

It's nice that the image import AND in-game editor will both allow slight changes to the kit design as well, so if the template isn't right the "sponsor editor" will help sort it.

200 slots is plenty for Prem, La Liga unlicensed and the 20 miserable empty slots in Other C for Bundesliga, Championship, Sagres Liga or Sholing Press Sunday 4th division as is your wont, plus National Teams.

They do really need to revisit the way player and team data is stored though, it's SO unwieldy for mass player editing.

Speaking as an utterly skint bloke with a stupid mortgage that's trying to sell his house, the £40 for PES is saving me hundreds of quid in taxi fares and urine-up-the-wall scenarios as it is. It's like the opposite of a false economy. Is that a "true economy" ?

I think what I was saying there was "what social life?" ;)

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

*Ding ding ding*

Untrue statements in the WENB podcast. The "Manual" passing is not changed in any way, and the feature to use it without clicking the Right Analog Stick was in previous games. Nothing has changed in that regard, you could use it in PES6/2008 just like it is used in PES2009 (that is, 8-directional "manual" uselessly crippled feature).

It'll seem even better from League 1.

My parents just bought a £250k house which I think is now worth less than a PS3.

But, like John McCain says, at least the fundamentals of our economy are strong.

So happy to confirm we have the game in our hands.

I’ve been playing it quite a bit already, and while I can say the gameplay is similar to the demo, the graphics have that extra polish the demo missed.

Squads, like we said in the podcast, are exactly the same as the demo. Unfortunate for online players, but that should be sorted with these online updates.

For today, expect some videos in the evening of various modes. Also watch out for our kit editor Carl Brook’s post’s, he’s gonna be showing you just what he can do with the edit mode. Expect big things!

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

i keep hearing 2010 is going to be year that pes changes, thats the year their going to really go all out its kind of funny because these people are saying this thinking ea and fifa are going to sleep for a whole year and hibernate...no they are not...they are also going to be tweaking their gameplay, make positive chages etc....i belive that this year fifa09 will beat pes...ive just listened to the wenb podcast and this is what i get from it...the way EA is going fifa 2010 is going to be better than fifa09....looking at how good it is this year, then thats saying a lot...
i guess what pes fans this year what to hear is pes2009 is better than pes2008 and they will be happy..
i think the demo is better than pes2008...but konami need to step up

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I am not particular anti - Konami, but sometimes I wonder if they think we are idiots:
http://de.games.konami-europe.com/
Look at the poll at the right margin, where they ask to what mode we are looking forward most. The third option is... the improved Master League :OOOH:

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Been a fan of the series since the SNES, been coming to this site (found it via KCET'S FINEST. Remember that?? CLASSIC D WHERE ARE YOU???!) for over 5 years now. I used to make it my duty to convert people from FIFA to WE/PES.

But this year, for the very first time, I will NOT be supporting Konami - for the numerous reasons which have already been outlined in this thread.

I sincerely hope Konami get there act together in 2010, but until then, FIFA 09 (although not perfect) is my new weapon of choice, and I'm loving it!!!

Hope that is true, if so, we will be in heaven!

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

rumour is telling (pesfan) online is not decent again?

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

That was not a post of the PESfan staff who got the game. They did not play the game on-line yet. It was a post of just another guy ( yellow carded ) and I am not sure if that was reliable.
We just have to wait and see until the PESFan staff ( or WENB ) has played it on-line...

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Sorry, but I cannot avoid to post this

Posted at the WENB page, talking about edition:

PPE 2009 editing : The breakdown

- No Shark heads found as of yet.

LOL OMFG LOL :D - just because of this, I will cancel my pre-order ^^

One of the lads on PESfan with his promo copy said something about 200 edit slots for importing images. That would be absolute quality if true. Could get a badge and sponsor on every unlicensed team with enough left to sort out the Nationals as well.

According to Carl @ WENB, that is not true and the slots are 40 for emblems only. What a waste... let's see what happen.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

 Is it really that hard to release the game with updated squads? I mean surely they could of had at least 1 person sitting down with a list of every transfer and update the squads before they release the game. It wouldnt even take a whole day, I know it aint that much of a big deal but when there releasing the game 2 weeks after fifa you would think by now they could at least have that...

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I've said before and I'll say it again in regards to online. If Konami couldn't get MGS4 right online then they wont have sorted it for PES.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

the liverpool away kit is still wrong, the numbers on the back of the kit should be white not red, konami cant even get their licences correct... fools

You know there are sideline microphones that do pick up players yelling for the ball etc. Even at Euro 2008 I distinctly heard the Turkish coach, Knezevic screaming in pain when fouled against Poland, Bilic yelling from the sidelines against Germany, Croatian players yelling "switch it" to temmates to just name a few...

what have you been watching?

That kit is such a monstrosity I don't think anyone will notice.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Well, hammered the opposition game on the PS3 for 20 or so games last nite, and what can I say.

WOW!!!

Wow at graphics, wow at some animations, wow at realistic situations and wow at...

well that's pretty much it. The AI is robotic, the control is clumsy at times, the through balls are wayy too good, too many goals due to my mate not knowing how to defend, he scored the same goal everytime (pass to wing, through ball to striker as soon as he points, my defender who im not in control of is beaten and Drogba scores easy, time and time and time and time again)

FIFA has a looong way to go if it hopes to become as deep and intuitive as PES3, let alone PES2009 which is is, judging from the demo, a step in the right direction, despite a few flaws which annoy me (locked runs, defenders being easily able to cut out passes not doing it, close control and shooting worries me)

I still believe that PES2009 is a solid title and the best available this year.

edit: the Cro's opinion based on hammering the PC demo for a few hours thanks to the 15 minute tweak (beting the CPU too easily though, worrying, I want a challange!!)

Try the real FIFA 09 on the 360 or PS3. PC version is crap.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Does it hurt letting Seabass ravage you from behind theCRO?

Thanks for contributing to this thread with something that was on everyone's mind. It saved me the typing effort - my God, how didn't anyone type it earlier?

However. if that were happening, it would probably hurt a lot less than having to be force-fed crap by people who can't take that others don't share their opinion.

Luckily, I don't think theCro is being ravaged by anyone, much less Seabass from behind. He is just sharing his honest opinion.

So all of those who come here because we like PES only have to put up with your lousy sarcasm. I guess we can handle it - it is as easy to resort to insulting others as it is to ignore them.

Best regards,

Paulo Tavares

P.S. - If you read his post, if someone was ravaging him it would be more like David Rutter, from EA, with a bit of vaseline on the tip while boasting "we never remove features from previous games, nor does our game have any bugs, and Adidas Live Season is the greatest thing ever - why would we merge the new stats with the editing data, if overwriting your editing data every week adds replay value to the game?".
