Does it hurt letting Seabass ravage you from behind theCRO?

Oh come on. The guy made both positive and negative points that were pretty coherent.

It's going after people like this and then adopting the victim mentality that is severely hindering the progress of Fifa in these here parts.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Try the real FIFA 09 on the 360 or PS3. PC version is crap.

I don't know if that's the case, but if he only has a PC, then that statement really isn't fair, now is it? ;) If he's commenting that PES2009 is the best game for him this year because he only has a PC, those are his only available options. I repeat, however, I didn't even pay that much attention to the fact that it was the PC version until you pointed it out to me :)

Truth be told, I tend to agree with you. The next-gen FIFA 09 is the real FIFA 09. I don't fall for EA's marketing BS that current PCs can't handle next-gen FIFA. That's simply using their lack of PC-dedicated resources and turn it to a marketing advantage. PC users should be able to play the next-gen game in their machines. EA just doesn't invest much in the PC market because it isn't very lucrative for them. As such, they put out the "bad" version of FIFA09, and instead of blaming their lack of effort, they credit it to their next-gen game being too evolved...

Seriously, now, does anyone with a technical background believe it? Am I the only one in that position who takes that claim of theirs with a bucketload of salt? :|

Best regards,

Paulo Tavares

That's what I played, the PS3 version of FIFA09 and fun, it was not. The PC version of PES2009 is what I was refferring to when saying it was a better game.

Maybe I appreciate a different type of footie than EA has to offer, maybe I'm just not giving it a chance, or maybe Seabass ass reamed me (!?) but I found it sub par, pass to the winger, one two on the side, through ball to any of 2 streaking players and there's a chance (I love to play passing football and I guess my mate who plays FIFA religiously just hasn't come to grips with defending in this version)

I'll give it the benefit of the doubt because some animations etc. are wicked, but some of the goals scored were laughable, no sense of achievment WHATSOEVER. No acheivment = no fun, which is exactly my opinion of PES2008, which I got bored of very quickly (I play WE10 with other mates, 2 vs comp Wworld Cup, awesome fun)

IMO, of course : -)

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

PS. badgerman, scored one of those beauties you get a woodie over on PES2009. Cannoned off the 90, off the grass behind the line and into the roof of the net. Only thing, I hit it softer but Scholes mercilessly unleashed from the top of the box for some reason, I wanted to place it.

FIFA also had a few similar situations, on PS3 for the smartasses :p

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

You know there are sideline microphones that do pick up players yelling for the ball etc. Even at Euro 2008 I distinctly heard the Turkish coach, Knezevic screaming in pain when fouled against Poland, Bilic yelling from the sidelines against Germany, Croatian players yelling "switch it" to temmates to just name a few...

what have you been watching?

Sounds like an excuse mate. It's extremely rare to hear this type of thing. Extremely! Plus you have to be right next to the mic! Of course, those offended by criticism of PES will defend it at all costs.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

i keep hearing 2010 is going to be year that pes changes, thats the year their going to really go all out its kind of funny because these people are saying this thinking ea and fifa are going to sleep for a whole year and hibernate...no they are not...they are also going to be tweaking their gameplay, make positive chages etc....i belive that this year fifa09 will beat pes...ive just listened to the wenb podcast and this is what i get from it...the way EA is going fifa 2010 is going to be better than fifa09....looking at how good it is this year, then thats saying a lot...
i guess what pes fans this year what to hear is pes2009 is better than pes2008 and they will be happy..
i think the demo is better than pes2008...but konami need to step up

Ive been drinking so i cant tell is you are agreeing or dissagreeing with the whole PES 2010 philosophy
A lot of people misunderstand the whole PES 2010 theory.
PES 2010 will hopefully be a brand new engine its not going to be worked on from PES 2009, PES 08 and 09 are last gen gameplay in new gen graphics but because its from last gen hardware the whole chemistry breaks down just like Fifa 06 and 07.
Fifa 08 was a completely new game and nothing resembled 07 but it was worked on in the background for 3 years just like all sports titles Next Gen
PES 2010 will be the same you will hopefully see a new Engine specifically for the PS3 (idiots Wasted 2 years unlike EA who worked on Xbox 360).
And again i have to just point you back to PES and PES2 for the PS2 and then Wam Bam PES3 totally unrecognizable to the previous 2 games

No, it sounded pretty much like Knezevic yelling "Mars u picku materinu!" actually.

Sideline microphones do pick up voices, maybe not all the time but they do. They don't pick up every kick of the ball though, which PES2009 has.

Relax mate, i'm not offended, just can't believe that you've actually watched a football match and paid attention, I suggest you do next time :)

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I've been enjoying the pes09 demo, it isn't perfect but i like that i need to build up play and the game in general. I worry we may never get the great feeling we used to with the best we/pes games.

I have noticed a few bugs/glitches though

1)sometimes, players automatically passing, sliding and finishing rebounds when i haven't pressed a button. It's normally ones nearby my cursor controlled player and i have it on semi-auto. Maybe it's a stupid new feature.

2)When the keeper has the ball try and stand next to him touching the ball, you get a drilling sound as if the ball was hitting something a hundred times a second. Guessing it's still registering a collision and playing a sound. Doesn't always do it though.

3) when i've shot and the ball has flown high and wide, if it landed on the advertising board behind the goals it would stop dead with no bounce and just stick onto the board!

4) hit the underside of the crossbar and when it bounced up i noticed it would get a spin (if it didn't have one) and the ball would spin at a crazy speed, then if the keeper or a player touched it the ball flew away at stupid speeds.

I had some more glitches but i can't remember this early in the morning.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Everyone seems to be so positive about PES2010, what if pes2010 turned to be shit just like 2009? I for one don’t think this game will be any different, just some little tweaks from 09 and that’s that.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I don't if this question has been asked before. Can you change camera angles from 1-9?

cheers.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Sorry, but I cannot avoid to post this

Posted at the WENB page, talking about edition:

LOL OMFG LOL :D - just because of this, I will cancel my pre-order ^^

According to Carl @ WENB, that is not true and the slots are 40 for emblems only. What a waste... let's see what happen.

WENB say 40 slots for Emblems but Pesfan are saying 200 slots for imported images in total. This is confirmed in a new video of Edit mode they have posted in the 2009 Q+A thread. WENB also say emblems can't be created for National teams. (Hopefully flags can still be turned off and images imported instead)

WENB have also posted a new video and in it Adam briefly mentions "Online has a bit of lag (but nowhere near as bad as last year)" :CURSE:

And you assume 2009 will be shit based on playing it? Demo? Videos?

I think it's solid...so far.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I haven't downloaded the demo yet, is it any good??

I like it, and quite a few don't.

Your probably best off downloading it for yourself and forming your own opinion.

The dribbling turns me off every time i play, i don’t feel any joy when scoring, it feels so nothing, the presentation is awful, It doesn’t smell like pes…

Yeah about this Scoring Issue,i think that non of the games out there offers the feeling and the adrenaline of scoring... even fifa tried to offer it this year, which is quite good but not still is shit and sometimes annoying.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Scoring on manual on fifa is awesome. On assisted it feels like in PES 09, just meh.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Legendary post a few pages back pjft. This thread is just going round and round.

@ BwA Spectre, could you just give it a rest!? You seriously need to find another pastime.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

jett32 commented on WENB (don't know if this guy Jett32 is reliable):

"Its different ONLINE then offline. I have played about 20 games ONLINE in pes2009 now.

Bad things:

Slower and bad response. Players can stop when they hit eachother for 2 sec and the ball is dead, then both wake up and run for the ball.

When u do airborne throwballs the defence dont respond fast and its truley that the ball goes throw.

When u want to change player u have to swith several times to get the right player, not like manual in earlier pes versions."

He talks about PS3 version; if he's true it sucks big time.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Until they don´t create dedicated servers they will never fix the lag problems. Ip vs Ip is completly old gen and outdated! Every multiplayer online game has his own servers. If I was konami I would consider investing in some Mega Drive/Genesis title as they like the "retro wave" so much... They could even create only mobile phone games.

Does this has anything to do with servers? Isn't it just the online-code IN the game that sucks? I've played PES5 XBOX1 2 vs 2completely lag-free online so i think you are wrong.

Btw, i play fifa 09 ps3 now directly to a friend without lag. Has that anything to do with servers?? (i dont have a clue)

Yes mate, online-code also affects the online quality, but dedicated servers decrease the change of you having lag. I give you an eg.. if you play against a kid who uses emule or MSN while playing with you, your game will have many lag. But if you´re playing in dedicated servers only your opponent will have lag due to bad ping times with the server. You will be lag free as your ping with the server is good. Dedicated servers prevents from cheating and prevents from getting much lag when someone´s connection is not that good. Every next gen title has dedicated servers (call of duty 4, fifa 09, singstar, rock band, metal gear solid 4 , lost planet, gran turismo 5 prologue and so on). As PES 2009 is not a next gen title (PS2 one with refined graphics) it doesn´t have dedicated servers. Konami need to change it all... otherwise PES will die.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Read over at PESfan that the import your own chants isn't in the PC version but is on the PS3. Very peculiar. Its probably limited to 2 chants per team anyway like everything else in the game

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Did Grilled Seabass ever answer why there are no untucked shirts then?

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Too much of a constrain on next gen consoles. They would have to limit the feature to 5 untucked shirts per team.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I guess there are not untucked shirt for 2 reasons:

1)...Soccer Rules say you cannot dress untucked shirts...
2)...new PES 2009 players model got larger shirts, so in wide or far cameras it's not easy to notice differences between tucked or untucked...:! IMHO

Same issue about socks...By now no players dress anymore low socks...No more Camoranesi aswell...Instead there are a lot of player dressing high socks: Henry, Materazzi, Mexes, Casillas (sometimes), Cissè (marseille) Victor Valdes etc...

Besides I got an IMPORTANT QUESTION: "IS Atletico Madrid LICENSED?????"

Copy and Paste this adress "http://www.konami.jp/we/2009/ps3_xbox/main.html#/newpoint"
then click "AI (CPU)"
check it out

It'll seem even better from League 1.

My parents just bought a £250k house which I think is now worth less than a PS3.

But, like John McCain says, at least the fundamentals of our economy are strong.

Ah, I think we'll be alright on that front, they're a decent side who just don't know how to play against some systems. Much better than last year's effort to watch anyway, which is just as well from a season ticket holder's point of view.

Hmm, I don't even want to talk about the house situation, which is currently causing me to have to share a house and a mortgage with my ex-girlfriend.

<Coughs>.

Soo, about that Pro Evo, then...
