Just play as Greece. Cyprus and Greece are pretty much the same country anyway.

...

Hehe hope that the understanding among cyprus and greece football supporters is good otherwise this suggestion is pretty bad...

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

if people don't like pes2009 then go play the older ones from the series, no on is forcing you to buy the new one if you don't like it. heck play pes 5

I will be getting pes2009 just for the legend mode. that video they did sold it to me. i played the WE fantisita on ps2 and when pes 2008 came out i thought it would have that, i was dissapointed and now it is in pes2009 i want it. :D

I think most people will struggle to play games that are years out of date (like pes2009), especially when they look at what other games are managing.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I played a few games this weekend with my friends and I must say it doesn't gives the same kick as the PS2 versions.

I'v been playing the PS2 version a lot with my friends (almost every weekend) and I think it's one of the best PES they made.
The AI could be better, especially when it comes to defending but I really liked this version. No more long range goals every time we shoot from out of the box like in PES 6.
I think the PS2 version of PES 2009 will be the better version once more and I'm thinking to buy this one also to play with my friends and online but I also want to play the PS3 version.
It's not perfect, the controls aren't responsive like on the PS2 but the AI it's really chalenging and the pace it's quite nice. You really have to build up your plays.
I think these are 2 important features to those who play mostly alone but it could get frustrating when online or with friends.

PES2009 it's a step in the right direction but Konami still have a lot to change. This year's AI give me hope for the following years that PES would be right on track and we will be enjoyng a next gen version like we used to enjoy it on the PS2.

Cheers

Do you honestly believe the A.I. in BAL mode will be improved from last year? have not previews already said the A.I. in BAL is pretty bad?

I think people who are looking forward to BAL mode are setting themselves up to be so disappointed.

I would be very surprised if the AI matched up to Fifa 09's BAP mode. The AI in that is sick!!!

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I've been posting on here for years. Check my profile. I certainly didn't join to bash PES. I joined years ago because I loved the series.

Obviously it was not pointed at you...

Same here, although the profile doesn't reflect it.

Yeah!!!

In spanish we have a quote for this, but I don't know how to translate it accurately. Would be something like "if the coat fits you, then wear it"

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I think in english, it's "If the shoe fits...."

Lol. dude give it a rest. At least till the game is released. I can imagine what you'll say on release date but come now. :smokin: ..just chillax. Once people buy it and realise how right you were then you can have a good laugh at them. You are getting way too upset about this. Almost obsesive infact.

stop the hate. His just going on what the previews/reviews have said about it.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Has the advantage rule gone also? I haven't noticed it..

The game plays not bad, but come on, they remove the good things always..

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I like 'em both, but in different ways that is. Some good things at one game and other good things about the other game. I'm not gonna buy em both so I made my decision... (like the wise Zakov dude said: it's my opinion. I don't care if someone else just thinks the opposite of it)

ps: still hard to see the logic in it now??

Fair enough. I hear you. You chose PES is my guess.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Sorry to have to tell you guys, but if Konami doesn't have a patch in progress, or are having serious problems with their servers, online SUCKS this year as well.

I've played numerous PES09-games online and the lag-problems have been apparent in all of them. If you've created the matchroom, it's bad. If you play in someone elses room, it's horrible. The days of old PES online-play are over, for now at least. Konami promised they had worked on the online-bit this year, but so far I can only assume they lied through their teeth.

Let's hope it's a problem they can fix with a patch or server-upgrade.
:TD:

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

it was worth a try...

Angry? Me? Don't think so mate...i have more serious problems in life to get angry of a football game or a forum comment. Btw i haven't read any offensive comments....its true that Greeks and Cypriots are Greeks and i don't see any point of being angry about it.

Enjoy life with humor and football dudes...its just a fu....ing game at the end.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

You've just made a fool of yourself there. There is absolutely no way on earth you can imply that FIFA 09 is about 'high speed button bashing'.

Well, I may have made a fool of myself if I'd actually said FIFA09 was about high speed button bashing, but I didn't.

I was responding to your comments about FIFA fanboys in the past, and from that it would be fairly obvious I was referring to FIFA games of the past, rather than those since, let's say FIFA08, cos I've actually played that.

This is going to completely undermine my argument in every way, so read on... I will also admit to having put PES2008 on today to check it really was a pile of old pants, and I actually enjoyed it for as long as it took for every ricochet to end up at the CPU's feet and every 50/50 challenge to go its way, and until I got fed up of holding down RB and getting away with it. They even fixed the glitchy replays a bit with a patch. But it still annoyed me like hell after about 5 games.

I only put it on to sod about with the face editor in the hope that I can get a headstart on creating my mates' faces for PES2009, cos I couldn't be arsed last year.

I only said it in jest, homie.

Also if anyone thinks that online is going to be 100% smooth then you've got another thing coming. If Konami couldn't get a fully functional online structure for Metal Gear Solid 4, perhaps the biggest game they'll ever release, then they're not going to pull a solution out of their arse in the following few months for PES.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Probably because we are all long term PES fans who are downright angry at what is being done (isn't being done?) to the series we used to love.

Hmm, but just repeating it especially in an arena designed for people who you'd expect would visit because they LIKE the game(s) is a bit pointless.

Mind you, the whole thing's a bit futile really...

Uh-oh, philosophy mode.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

No....they don't owe us anything. But unlike many on here I've realised that we don't owe them anything either. Vote with your wallet. Don't buy it.

...if you don't like it.

To be honest I'm pretty sure the damage was done last year and plenty of people who MIGHT have bought it just won't buy anyway. Like I said earlier in this thread, I already feel like they owe me a free copy for last year's let down.

Same here.....blood brother ;)

i will just sit back and read your posts now....

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I've downloaded the demo like 4 times since its release and i still can't get it installed. Damn PSN, good for nothing.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I was playing online, 1-0 down, got through on goal, slipped it past the keeper bounced back off the post, other striker following up slams it towards goal, cannons back off the crossbar and to the opposition. I nearly cried. These sort of moments are so reminiscent of PES when it was good.

SaintScott just makes a fool of himself every time he posts. People like that should just step away from the internet. How grossly misinformed and how incredibly deluded can you be to form some imaginary allegiance to a self-serving corporate entity which has shown time and time again it has no interest in what it's fanbase has to say.

As I said earlier though, I'm thankful for people like that now, as they will keep the competition going. The truth, though, is that PES is a shadow of it's former self, and years behind in technology and anyone with a brain cell or two can see that.

I don't agree with your opinion of the game, but that's no big deal. As for FIFA09... someone else has misinterpreted my comments about button-bashing as referring to FIFA09, which is the total opposite to what I was actually saying.
The only person looking a fool here is the person that doesn't realise that when I'm actually telling them what I said, rather than what someone thought I was saying !

As for a deluded alliance to Konami, after last year ? You've got to be kidding ! And I've said that consistently throughout this thread, but hey, if it doesn't suit your argument just ignore it, yeah ?

I've also posted that from the demo this is the game PES6 on 360 should have been, and yes, it's 2 years late. That still doesn't make it a bad game, it's very enjoyable and a good improvement.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

That back spin video was groovy and whatnot but I was hoping for crossbar interaction. Seriously, the game could have just 1 player, a ball and a metal post suspended in mid air and I'd be set.

edit: testing

edit2: success
