Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Right techy question here folks from an IT illiterate (logging on to this forum is a struggle for me!).

I am 74% through downloading the demo for the PS3 on my fifth attempt (first four ''an error occurred''). It has taken 29 hours to get that far!!!!

I have a decent broadband connection and regular webpages don't take too long to load so what's the problem?

Are there some settings on my PS3 that need changing, could it be because I'm doing it through wireless (I don't have a cable to connect my PS3 direct so this is my only option)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated and remember I'm an idiot so Layman's terms where possible please.

I've given up!!!!!

I checked after 40 hours and it was on 97%, when I checked again an 'error' had occurred!

So, does anyone know if any magazines are going to have a copy of the demo with their next issues and if so which ones and when are they released? I'm in the UK.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I wont buy it. But isn't the forum all about people giving their opinions?

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I am long term PES fan and i like this year version. This is just your opinion and nothing else. Konami owe you nothing, just don’t buy the game ffs...

I think Konami do owe the fans something. Ive followed this series for years and years and have spent a lot of money on the franchise like so many other people on here..even the crap versions e.g 2008 ...so don't they at least owe the fans a decent football game with a little bit of effort instead of essentially re-badging the same game (after this demo slightly worse) and charging us £30 + ..my thoughts anyway

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

No....they don't owe us anything. But unlike many on here I've realised that we don't owe them anything either. Vote with your wallet. Don't buy it.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

It's not just 'I' though is it? It's like rats from a sinking ship.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I'll say that in cocking about in the arena bit on the Fifa demo I was able to achieve something that has been a life goal for me in football games.

That was to have a shot that hit the underside of the bar, bounced over the line and then bounced out again.

I love me some good bar/post ball interaction and I have always had a knob on for the scenario I spelled out above.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I used to see these kind of actions mentioned by Badger in PES, but nowadays I see them happening in FIFA instead of PES....Twilight zone...

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I was playing online, 1-0 down, got through on goal, slipped it past the keeper bounced back off the post, other striker following up slams it towards goal, cannons back off the crossbar and to the opposition. I nearly cried. These sort of moments are so reminiscent of PES when it was good.

SaintScott just makes a fool of himself every time he posts. People like that should just step away from the internet. How grossly misinformed and how incredibly deluded can you be to form some imaginary allegiance to a self-serving corporate entity which has shown time and time again it has no interest in what it's fanbase has to say.

As I said earlier though, I'm thankful for people like that now, as they will keep the competition going. The truth, though, is that PES is a shadow of it's former self, and years behind in technology and anyone with a brain cell or two can see that.

It's not really a competition any more though is it? EA could probably do nothing for the next 5 years and still have the better game.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Is funny how some gaming journalists are so scared to say Fifa is better this year that they have to hide behind the question on whether u prefer the more simulated game or not.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

In terms of sales there is competition though, especially the European market which PES still has a considerable share of.

Don't be silly, FIFA is far too realistic to be better. Who needs a wonderfully complex and realistic collision engine when you have shark heads?

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

 Ummmmm, Both ok/good but not convinced by the other one? I have to think about this one............

I like 'em both, but in different ways that is. Some good things at one game and other good things about the other game. I'm not gonna buy em both so I made my decision... (like the wise Zakov dude said: it's my opinion. I don't care if someone else just thinks the opposite of it)

ps: still hard to see the logic in it now??

Had one on the PES2009 demo where the ball struck the corner of the post and crossbar from a fairly tight angle and agonisingly bounced along the line, hit the other post and out. I watched a replay in slow-mo and the ball movement was perfect- loved that. Would never have happned in PES2008. ;))

Yeah, I haven't played much of either demo to be honest because the time constraints are such a ball ache.

But yeah, both demos have their ups and downs. However, one thing that we really need to get away from in both games is the 8-directional movement, it's getting a bit daft in this day and age.

Agreed.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Do any Playstation 3 UK magazines have a website where I can find out what will be on their next issue's demo disc?

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Bloody Konami..... Where is Cyprus? Shouldn't they include Cyprus...We had some great improvement over the years , come on....!!!! (Angry)!!

Does anybody have the email of this Seabass guy??

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Just play as Greece. Cyprus and Greece are pretty much the same country anyway.

...

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

 It is funny how every year we have "new members" (sarcasm here ) that just join EW to bash the game.

It is good to see that our beloved forum does not change across the time. It is like PES classic gameplay  (is that exist?).

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I don't think Seabass himself is proficient in the English language. Nor, for that matter, do I think that he has a sufficient grasp of the Greek language.

However, if English is your chosen language of correspondence, then might I suggest the contact page on Konami's official European website.

I think that you will find it most fruitful in your endeavour to send Seabass pictures of gay porn.

That's why this Forum is considered a CLASSIC among others out there!!

It reminds me of a local bar here in Cyprus, you can see a mixed blend of "regulars" so called scientists and typical locals having a beer together..:)

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I've been posting on here for years. Check my profile. I certainly didn't join to bash PES. I joined years ago because I loved the series.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Apparently I've been here 6 years but I've only really started tearing shit up in the past 18 months.

Although I can only remember about 5 or 6 names on here. Then again I do my best not to make friends on the internet, partly because I need to preserve a sliver of my dignity in some way.

Same here, although the profile doesn't reflect it.

Another pes that adds nothing to the series, we have played better games than this, it makes no sense to buy it honestly unless it plays smooth and nice on line.
