Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Sorry for gettin off topic.
Ive played the pes 2009 demo pc and ps3 versions.
Did anyone notice that the ps3 version is easier to go past defenders than the pc version, and pc version is slower.
Just wanted to know if anyone else noticed
peace

Mate you don't have to be sorry that's not off topic anyway... ;))

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

its incredibly easy to score goals now, it doesn't take any skills at all like before
Well i beat the CPU with like 3-4 Goals every 5 Mins Match on Top Player on PES 08 and on PES 09 its deffo much harder.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Demo Is Nice

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Everyone seems to be condemning PES 2009 based on the demo.

I remember when the Leipzeig convention took place the demo on show that day was universally condemned. Is this the version we have been playing or a later one??

The reason I ask is that I have heard that people have played later versions of the game in which they have said it is much better and more 'polished'.

If this is true then it may be a case of 'wait and see' as opposed to dismissing it completely, already.

Is anyone able to clarify my argument or not?

this demo is already the more "polished" version, that is the bad new. last year people were with the same hope, that the final game would be better than the demo, but it was exactly the same sh***. i guess this year will be the same, the final version will be 95% the same of the demo...

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Golden 28, if i remember well, it was Thomasgoal who knew that the demo is from the final version (well i'm sure somebody said that, i'm not sure if it was Thomasgoal).

Hiquekb, was that necessary ????

And BWA spectre while i agree with you, you seem on a crusade...are you payed by EA ????

I also think i prefer FIFA but what's wrong with people who like PES ???? Let's respect each other's opinion....

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Caniggia and Riot (I believe those are the two names), the two Scandinavian testers, confirmed that the final game is the same as the demo.

don't you remember playing pes2008 demo and thinking how bad it was and then the usual suspects were saying "it's just the demo, the retail version will be so much better", but it wasn't at all...well after playing pes2009 demo i'm not holding my breath...because the only improvement i can see is the pitch...much better than previous pitches but is that all they have been working on all year???

mate i didn't say that as an 'offense' to PES..

filthydani did it saying that it was sooo easy to score goals.. so i asked him what difficulty was he playing, cause it's not easy to socre goals on top player difficulty..

and i don't like fifa as you said, and no, i'm not payed by neither EA and Konami, i only play the game i prefer and think is better: PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER ( 2009 )

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Oh dear. Thanks for the replies guys.

Unfortunately it was the news I was dreading. I really can't believe that in a ten month development cycle this is all Seabass and the team can come up with.

I have hired FIFA09 and for the first time in my life I can honestly say that they have tried really hard to improve on previous versions and recreate a good simulation of football. It's not perfect and does not flow as well as Pro Evo but it is damn good and is well on the way to becoming better than Pro. It still does not warrant a purchase IMHO though.

It looks like for once I may not buy any football games this year apart from Football Manager. At least that never lets me down.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

its getting down hill again here

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Wow. Download the demo. Would have done it earlier but it seemed to be causing my 360 to crash on Thursday.

It's absolutely awful. It just makes FIFA look good. I know it's opinions and all that, but personally, I can't see how any review, EVER, could prefer PES. It's nonsensical, to me. Even on gameplay alone, which is the only area PES tends to stand up, it's just... no.

Sorry to be so pessimistic and, believe me, I am a massive fan of Pro. Been playing it since I was a young lad.

But, it really is so dissapointing that nothing has changed much from 08 which still plays a nice game of football don't get me wrong, it's just that I was expecting so much more than just a few new animations.

The running animation for example is nothing short of comical and I was prepared to begrudgingly put up with it last year fully expecting it to be corrected this time around.

I mean does Seabass honestly think this is how footballers run? It's a small and insignifcant thing I know but for me it highlights the bigger problem...sheer lack of progression and a show of lazyness on the developers part.

You may think I'm one of those stereotypical moaners but I really really want the day to return when every October I would be so excited about the new version coming out. I used to have house parties centred around PES where me and the boys would all get lashed and have tournies but since going next gen it hardly even registers a heartbeat, when; in fairness, it should be something very special. Boo :-##

I played the demo with Liverpool, my team, was so looking forward to it, because this year is the first time ever LFC are officialy licensed, but it still doesn't save it, its simply not good enough. The chants are a real shocker, its unplayable because of them.

And why are they so bad, theres no excuse, how simple is it to sample decent crowd chants. For those of you who beleive they will fix stuff like this, well wake up, Konami are lazy arse wankers, who again for the 3rd year in a row have let the fans down. Surely even the most loyal fans must be angered by the crowd chants alone, it just summerises Konami's attitude. . they dont give a shit anymore!!!

I wont be buying until they re-write the whole game.

lol. every year people make this post. every year they find out that the demo is representative of the final release. Why would Konami put out a demo which made their final release look worse than it actually is?

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

yes mate, is it a problem for you?

no m8, but its not like we give a $hit whether u did or not. Just a thought.
Now, if u bought the game and ended up burning seabass in effigy, that would be a story worth telling.

I dont get the chants, I mean you might aswell not have them at all if your gonna have the rubbish Konami have put in. Seabass and his team have sampled live games and watch TV so how they came up with these chants I will never know..

haven't played champ man (still call it that) for three years but 3d engine has me excited.

A few pages back i suggested 2k games to enter football market......

but si games already has the most realistic football game engine on the market...

so my question to you Mr collyer is this: how much longer will you keep us waiting before your team releases your pro evo/fifa killer?

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Well, as there are a lot of PES fan boys here that can´t respect opinions I won´t post at this thread anymore, I will just play my FIFA 09 and enjoy it. See you next year on PES 2010 if the game is decent. Cheers and enjoy your Robotic Tsubasa Evo Bugs Soccer.

Hehehe...while I agree with you, let me remind you what Voltaire said:
I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Played about ten matches now.

It's shocking, truly, truly shocking. How anyone can defend this is beyond me. Seriously, I'm not saying people don't have the right to their own opinion. But y'know. Some people like to believe they are Napolean, but don't go around saying it's the truth. PES is maybe a decent arcadey type game if you want a laugh with the mates but it really is years, even decades perhaps behind the rest of the sports games industry, and it doesn't really matter what you believe because that is a fact.

As far as I'm concerned it's going to be two to three years before PES even has a chance of competing with FIFA again, and that's only IF they start developing a next-gen engine now or even have done already.
