The fact that on the EA website forums u have guys from Fifa development team posting and responding to gamers questions and concerns tell u the difference between them and Konami. A day after release and there on there. Seabass to me thinks his a genius and everything is ok with his game.

Doesn't the WENB get their final version today?

That's the PC version of FIFA, the shit one.

Why's that?

I thought that conventional wisdom was that PC versions of games are usually able to ramp up the graphics?

I don't know exactly why, probably because a less hardware-demanding version will be available to a wider market.
Everything about the 360/PS3 versions of FIFA is superior to the PC version - gameplay, graphics, physics etc. It is a completely different game.

The first part of your reaction is true.
But then you spoil it by your judgment of Seabass...how do you know that the fact the developers don't speak with buyers is due to Seabass ????

That said, i've just played a couple of games with the demo.
First reaction: not much better than PES 2008.
I've been playing FIFA for a couple of days. FIFA is much better once again this year.

But the thing that i liked most in PES, is not enough in FIFA. In PES players and teams feel different, in FIFA barely if ever...that's a shame.

Apart from that, look at the superb animations in FIFA and the robotic ones in PES. I might change my mind after a couple of more games but i sincerely doubt it.
Long times fans are saying that Konami needs 3 years to develop a good game for nextgen. I never played it on PSX or PS1, but i can tell you that PES1 was much, much better than PES2008 and PES2009. Even the much maligned and abysmal PES2 (remember the uproar on this forum when that one came out) was better than the two games for PS3...

Its all matter of effort....a 9600GT costs £76 and it can run any console port at 2480x1600 x16aa INSANE settings...a TRIPLE core cpu costs £65.... http://www.ebuyer.com/product/144635 Thats 2 parts that just kick any consoles rear....at £143...
EA is just spreading PR BS in order not to alienate the PC market for when FIFA10 will be next gen on PC....

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

you people talk to much, you can talk bad or good the game will not change, if you dont want to play dont buy the game its simple.
so stop crying about it, dont like dont play.
in life you dont eat nothing you dont like it, so dont eat pes.
"og good game real football oh so good"
days later
"oh this game is a crap bla bla bla"
poor people...shame on you

Wrong! Thats what forums, blogs are for. To express yourself. Maybe Seabass & Co. might listen some day. If they were smart and cared they would have people scouring the blogs and forums (like many other game developers do) to find out the buzz, the trends and peoples thoughts on their products. It's basic Marketing/PR. Feed off of the consumers' ideas and complaints and find a mid ground to satisfy the most people possible. Us complaining is a good thing. It means that just maybe, Konami might start caring and trying to please and address the issues raised here.

Thats the difference...KONAMI CARES ONLY ABOUT WHAT JAPAN THINKS...

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I only started having doubts after I played the PES demo.

It's a mental thing, the expectations game here are playing out in Pro Evo's favour. I thought that I'd find 2009 to be an even worse incarnation of 2008, with no signs of progress or hopes for the future. And it isn't, infact it's quite reassuring considering what was being said here. For example, the animations that looked so deliberate on the videos, which everyone latched on to, was something that I didn't find to be all that noticeable when actually playing the game.

Now, as a result of this, I'm thinking that Fifa has been ludicrously over-hyped. But we'll see how it pans out when I get my hands on it.

Fifa overhyped? Or perhaps people like it? Trust me, if Fifa were trash, I'd say it. I could care less about who makes a game. I just want to play a good game of football. On the PS2 I used to laugh at Fifa and how horrible it was mate.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

What exactly is the point of this?

If people like PES...fine...enjoy it.

If people like FIFA...fine....enjoy it.

If people like both of them...fine...enjoy them.

I personally find the term 'Fanboy' very, very childish.

These boards have turned into a pile of fucking 'Fanboy' shit. I'm not posting anymore unless it's to do with helping anyone edit-wise.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

My mate has been round this afternoon - we dont get together for gaming much, so I had the chance to show him FIFA09, the PES09 demo and we played our usual host of PES08 matches.

Heres some thoughts from him - he likes gaming and loves Evo, but wouldnt say he was a hardcore gamer at all - but he is VERY knowledgable about football, been watching it for 25+ years and has a FA Coaching Badge.

Now FIFA, he has NEVER liked and he hated 08 when I showed him it a few months back.

I said for us to try some FIFA09 as it was improved. We ended up playing about 10 games and his final thought was "this is actually pretty good". He thought the only thing that lets it down is that in the final third, its hard to make space and create anything inventive.

He is considering getting a PS3 in the next week or so and said he probably would buy FIFA. Compared to his opinion of 08 when he wanted it switching off half-way through our 2nd game.

Then I showed him the PES09 demo. He loved it and said it was much improved from 08 on the PS3 and 08 on PS2 (which is better).

Finally, we stuck PES08 for our usual MP matches. And it felt really weird after playing the 09 Demo and now shows up either A) how poor 08 was (and I love it) or B) How good 09 is.

I was quite surprised at comparing the 2 so closely and anyone that says there is 'no difference' between 08 and 09 is frankly mental! I'm now more pumped for PES09 than I ever was.

We had much more fun playing PES08 though than our 10 FIFA games and I think thats the key to PES that FIFA will have to find some way to match...

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Such an unjustly negative thread of posts!!!!

I've now spent a good few hours playing the PS3 demo and after being underwhelmed initially, you know what, I'm loving it! Back to the PES good old days with lovely high-def graphics!

Some of the points people are moaning about are just ridiculous. Like the sand-bags on the goals. I have been playing PES since the ISS days and I have never ever noticed them!! People complaining about miniscule details like that are just geeks.

Playing a 2v2 sesh tonight, which I think is going to be excellent as it seems far harder to score in this version. Football should be about games with 2 or 3 goals or even nil-nil draws. PES2008 promoted ice-hockey like scores. Goals will be far more cherished now I reckon.

What I've always loved about PES games (apart from 2008) is that you can be playing them solidly for months, think you've seen every type of goal etc and then you suddenly see something totally new- like an absolute thunderbolt of a volley from a tight angle or something. I reckon this version will be like that- not spectacular very often but v occassional moments of pure genius. That's what PES is all about!

If the on-line works well (fingers crossed), this is an absolutely superb game!!

I think this is one of the issues people have with it. "The good ol days" I mean...thats fine and dandy but people dont want to play an old game with a fresh coat of paint. We dont want to go back in time. The "evolution" is stagnant. People want a new experience, new good features, smooth as butter animations, frame rate and perhaps even a ball thump sound that sounds like a ball thump....I can go on and on. I personally think the old PES' were better than this. Much better. In the context of next gen and in comparison to the comp, it's piss poor, IMO. If there was no next gen, superior comp, then it'd be getting better reviews I think.

Resources, attention has been on 360/PS3. No surprise there. They chose these consoles to have priority over PC. Could be many reasons for that. They do need to make the game available to the most people possible, not only to those people with super high end alienware machines. That's one sure reason. I only play on 360 so I'm saved.

EA don't make as much money on PC games so they don't give it the same development budget. The PC version is made by the team responsible for the PS2 version. It's essentially 'last gen' FIFA and should be ignored. You just have to look at the fact that EA have pretty much dropped PC versions of nearly all it's EA Sports line up to see where it's headed.

Complaints about the PES 2009 demo should be ok here. Even you can benefit from it. Speak up and you may be heard. Don't speak up and Konami will be underachieving again next year. This is the wake up call they need. Someone from that dev. team mmust be visiting these forums to see what people think about the demo. It's almost guaranteed. Well...maybe not.:-ll

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Sorry for gettin off topic.
Ive played the pes 2009 demo pc and ps3 versions.
Did anyone notice that the ps3 version is easier to go past defenders than the pc version, and pc version is slower.
Just wanted to know if anyone else noticed
