Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

What a pathetic opinion, my Lord!!!

Because he is bashing/not liking the game, means he opened his eyes?
I hate this kind of arrogancy. Those who think like you are right and unbiased, the other are just fanboys. So SAD. Of course this does not surprise me since you are at this thread just to bash the game.

This is not about you Emanuel, I respect your point view and if you consider FIFA your game, good for you. Be happy. Respect :)

Yeah, and if you dont like FIFA you are some kind of moron, right?

People cant realise that FIFA are not the game for everybody, as well as PES wasn't in the PS2 era since a lot of people played FIFA in those times. I hate the attitude of "we are right, the rest are so blind". Learn to respect people who likes the game buddies... it is difficult but make an effort.

If you use "IMO" all is solved. Works wonders for me. I think PES is a pile!, IMO, of course. Carry on.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Well I have bought FIFA for the first time after playing the demo and its really good. It flows really nice and the atmosphere is qaulity. I have been jumping up and down when scoring or going close just like I used to do with pes. As for Pes this year....im underwelmed but the more I have played the demo it gets better. I will still buy pes because I have loved it since the beginning, but Konami have got to up the game in 2010.

Does this sentence make sense? Youll by it cause you love(d) it from the beginning! :SS So dosnt matter how bad it is, as long as it was good, youll buy it? Very bizarre! IMO, of course.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

It is not the same to say "you opened your eyes" than say "IMO". With a quote like that, you imply something like "he is reasoning now".

If you had said something like "it is good that you agree with me", "it is fine that you have same points of view like me", would be different. "It is good that you finally open your eyes" does not sound as a personal opinion, but a fact that if he likes PES, he is just blind. So SAD as I said. You have to realise/accept that not all dislike new PES and not because of that we are morons, we just think/like different things/games.

In my post, there is no need to say "IMO" because I am not giving my opinion at all. I am critizing the attitude of some here that thinks that the world spins/roll around them. Honestly, that is pretty sad. Sound like anyone that like PES is a moron and the people that like FIFA are spot on. I am not defending the game as the greatest of all times, just the fact that some people bash here people that likes PES genuinely. Grow up please.

Does this sentence make sense? Youll by it cause you love(d) it from the beginning! :SS So dosnt matter how bad it is, as long as it was good, youll buy it? Very bizarre! IMO, of course.

It is his opinion also, he is not stating is the best game of all times.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

And in the present FIFA 09 is all I´m looking for in a footbal videogame because PES is a videogame and FIFA is a footbal Simulator.

Yeah, you know, perhaps your analysis ain't that far-fetched (albeit at first glance FIFA seems more of a "Nike commercial" tricks simulator than anything, to each his own I guess, I've had enough of that stuff 15 years ago with California Games), the real problem though is that neither of them is fun to play on the long run and, since I've been facepalming at people blabbing about HD and "next generation" a lot lately, despite FIFA graphical engine holding a lot of raw potential, an exceptionally poor players characterization paired up with flat-out wrong anatomycal references, monkey'sque animations and an half-assed art direction which sunk the entire organoleptic portion of the game deep down the uncanny valley sorta defeated the point making the game look underwhelming at best, actually shortening the gap between the EA title and the seemingly not-quite-next gen PES latest release which could've (shoulda? Think so) been a lot wider.

I guess we're back to square one, J-Winning Eleven 9 AC/Sensible World of Soccer/Football Kingdom (those were the days and those were football games) here I come.

What truly leaves me wondering and speechless is how some of the older players, those with brains who don't strive to justify their fanboy'ism-driven purchase of a rather pricy home entertaining system (whether it's a Xbox360 or a PS3 I could care less) whose peculiar characteristic is a depressing lack of worthwhile software and haven't been victims of the "GQ-syndrome" which makes everything "HD", new and technologically advanced cool and fun by default, could actually enjoy these overly shitty games which revolve around awfully convoluted controls and astonishingly evanescent gameplay;

we've gone backwards, notwithstanding most of the userbase is either blinded by the ruling mediocrity or in denial due to fanboy'ism and that's a pretty sad occurrance for the electronic entertainment industry as a whole, at this rate there won't be anything decent to play by the time the next generation of systems comes out (assuming the majors, except Microsoft of course since they seem to have enough cash to burn to cover their terrible gaming division's ass for the next 10 generations), manage to survive the current, disastrous one eh).

Wake the fk up and ttop feeding these software houses, people. Then, maybe, we'll get another decent football game.

 got to love the PES thread...

Yeah Nick you know.... all the years is the same story.

But hey... it is good the feeling is still there, just like PES 2009, don't you think so? It is good, in some way, that some things never change :D

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

With the previous demos I've always wanted to have 3-4 more games when I've felt bored or whatever but with 2009 I'm not getting that same feeling. Just doesn't feel right even after finally playing games with my mates

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I know that people have their own opinion, but reactions like the quoted one are really sad. Oh well, he just might have no words :r1

A lot have welcomed the demo quite positive, which is nothing short of a miracle on evo-web :D

sorry han, just the way i feel regarding pro evo now...just doesn't do anything for me anymore

and also i wasn't abusive towards scott, just abit of tongue-in-cheek humour

I'm waiting for the full game before I make any call on 2009, I was soo gutted with 2008 as many were being such a big PES fan and a FIFA hater, I hope it's good...

I'm sorry I disagree. Up until last year, I was a fairly rabid PES fanboy playing every version since the ISSPro days. PES2008 was terrible however, and I got a lot of enjoyment out of playing FIFA. Not at first....because I was still trying to play it like PES. I had to unlearn that and discover the depth FIFA actually has. It's not going to happen in a quick blast of the demo it takes weeks.........just like PES did for years. It still had a lot of flaws - but it was closer to football than anything I'd played before. But I could still understand why some PES fans wouldn't go for it.

This year however FIFA is good. Really really good. It's not a lazy yearly update with little tweaks here and there. In gameplay terms it improves on both PES and FIFA in absolutely every way. It is streets and streets ahead of anything on the market. You owe it to yourself to buy it and give it a decent chance because you absolutely won't do it justice with a 2 hour session. It flows fantastically well and it has layer upon layer of depth. It's wonderful.

In agreement with every word.

The only question is, where do we go from here, if not back to the games you mentioned?

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

The chants are horrible ,ffs how stupid can Konami get?

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I have to say I am no fanboy, I just want a football game that is "realistically fun" as opposed to "arcadey boring" which is why I hated disliked Fifa's gameplay for years and never needed to crow about (ISS)PES games because all my friends played it too and respected it as an awesome football game. You know what I mean we were all there at one stage or another.

We all know PES hasn't done anything on next generation hardware and bases any of it's success on it's PS2 past heritage.

I have to say that I have played the PES 2009 demo and was underwhelmed, I still cannot stand the shooting and general sluggishness of the gameplay - basically it just doesn't FEEL like PES anymore. Then within hours I played Fifa 09 on the Xbox360 for the first time and honestly the difference was like night and day and Fifa was infinitely more fun and alot more "PES-like" than even PES is!

Both me and my brother agree that this years PES demo is underwhelming to put it lightly and we hope the full game is significantly better but for me personally I cannot see it and I think Fifa has finally cracked it and now I can objectively and honestly hand on heart say that it IS the better game now.

For me there is no such thing as "converting" I play whichever is the most fun and realistic football game of any time and right now times have changed and Fifa is where it's at in this current next gen era. And for the first time ever I can honestly say I do not like this year's PES if that demo is anything to go by. It kind of hurts me to say it (brand loyalty theories are a fact) but that sadness is offset by the fact that Fifa has always been the better "everything else but gameplay" over PES and yet now even the "golden gameplay" is now more in Fifa's camp than PES's in my honest opinion.

This year's PES just isn't PES anymore in my opinion, it looks like PES 2008 and plays nothing like typical PES games anymore.

For now it's well done Fifa! :applaud:

As for PES well Konami have one last ace in the hole....next years 2010 version and if that one sucks too, well the last person out please switch off the lights and give PES a respectful burial and remember the franchise fondly.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

We could also go to fifa thread and make fun of FIFA Rooney Zombie face. It´s curious how every fifa lovers came here to make fun of a bad face

Go play FIFA online with your custom players positions on the field and use supercancel a lot, and leave us alone

Can be the best pes ever for sure

PES 2009 let me play football again as old PES did

That´s it. Konami need to do something different. I have to say I´m (was) a huge pes fanboy but that´s enough of it. They lost again, they need to make the game realistic in gameplay and visuals.

in the present FIFA 09 is all I´m looking for in a footbal videogame because PES is a videogame and FIFA is a footbal simulator

come again...

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Pull their finger out of what? :D
sorry m8, couldn't resist that one.

Well after having a good 18 odd matches on the demo, I could say I enjoyed it. Its not without its flaws, but at least we've got two decent footie games this time around. Final thoughts, good solid game, nothing more than we expected from KONAMI for this year's release, given the skepticism around here even before the demo was released.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

They fixed the PS3 PES2008's many and varied technical problems (mostly), but as far as I know they never released a patch for online that actually worked.

That game was broken from the start and they knew it, but they released it anyway. I think it's the awareness of this grade-A corporate cynicism that explains much of the bitterness towards Konami, Seabass, and the PES franchise. I certainly feel it, like a hot ball of lead in my gut that burns and burns and will never go away, and I'm usually immune to such things. We lost a year's PES gaming to that pile of shite that came out last year.

PES2009 looks good and handles well and seems to fit the PES bill, yes, but even if it's exactly what I want I'll never forget or forgive the bastards for last year.

Agreed, much as I like the new one I do feel like I should be able to pitch up with a copy of PES2008 and just exchange the f'cking thing for PES2009 no questions asked.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I think there is no problem saying FIFA 09 is more realistic than PES 2008. I know some guys here are disapointed with my post but I´m fair, that´s it. I used to be a fan boy as I said. I thank konami and seabass for 6 years playing the beauty, but I just can´t stand it anymore. When Xbox360 and PS3 arrived at the market, I thought "now we can have a realistic football game, because the hardware is powerful". Well in fact we have, but that game is not PES. Maybe because konami is more interested in selling the game and make easy money, because it says "PES" on the cover, and I´m sure a lot of PES fan boys will buy it because it´s called PES, not because of its gameplay. But I´m not into that. I buy and play the one I like, instead of being a pes fan boy. Yes I am. But not these last 2 PES. PES 2009 should be PES 6 (xbox360), and in that year was fine. Not in 2008 when we have many games with realistic physics and human behaviours indeed (call of duty 4, assasins creed, uncharted, gears of war, fifa, etc). PES isn´t a next gen title. It´s marketing. It´s a game based on old gen with HD graphics and with the name PES on it, wich makes every fan buy it.

So don´t blame me for changing to fifa. It´s just my opinion and I think no one has the right to blame me just because I did about 200 online matches with you in previous PES and I used to defend the game. I don´t want PES or FIFA. I want Football. FIFA is footbal, so I want FIFA. Simple as that.

I don´t play football games just for chilling and score some goals. I play football games because I LOVE real football and I like to play it in the game as it is in real life, and FIFA 09 allows me to do that (1st touch animations, ball control, shooting and passing animations, great gameplay, many kinds of goals).

Trust me you pes fan boys, there is nothing more satisfying than beating manchester united playing with Benfica, online, not because it was pure luck or because of player stats, but because actually you played better and you made great short passes play and stuff.

Let´s FIFA 09. For anyone wanting a game just add my PSN: Emanuel83 :) Cheers and bye PES for now.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Does this sentence make sense? Youll by it cause you love(d) it from the beginning! :SS So dosnt matter how bad it is, as long as it was good, youll buy it? Very bizarre! IMO, of course.

That sentence doesn't make sense, no, much as we don't agree on our choice of game, I can't argue with the logic that buying the new version of a game just because it used to be good is stupid.

I felt pretty bloody stupid last year, I know that much, but this year, I'm feeling pretty good about buying PES2009.

I'm actually watching a game on Setanta2 between Bielefeld and Kurlsruhe, and it's great just how much the flow of the game is reminding me of PES2009. I need to learn a few more tricks, and the game needs a whole lot more untucked shirts to be spot on though (not to mention some German teams) ! :D.

You really need to give up with the "IMO" though, the argument doesn't add up when other statements are presented as fact or insult, they're not defensible even if they are I(Y)O.

So is the FIFA09 Demo (you know, the one we're not allowed to discuss here) actually very poor at conveying what the full game can do ? Cos when I played FIFA09 Demo, it felt exactly like FIFA08, and playing that bored me after about 3 weeks. No fluidity, no flow, no depth and that diving header I already discussed which just killed it for me. But I feel a big improvement in PES that I just didn't get from FIFA.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I am not surprised that all those bugs are in PC. And more than sure in low detail. Last year's "low detail" videos of PES were hilarious. However, even in PES2008 PS3 version did not see any of those bugs.

I have not seen a blatant error like those in around 20 games in PS3.

No, not dreaming, playing. It is a good game (well, demo of a good game).

Calling people "liars" isn't really going to endear you to anyone either.

Maybe try understanding why they have their opinions and what they see good in the game, rather than dimissing them for not having the same opinion of you.

In fact, to actually go so far as to say that you actually think someone would use the power of their opinon in making statements just designed to fool you - rather than share their actual opinions with everyone - is remarkably arrogant, and frankly just a little bit of a stupid conclusion to come to.
