Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Is it just me or do the crowd chanting " Pavarotti ! Pavarotti ! " when italy plays?

Kinda annoying haha

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

OK here are my honest impressions. This is much much better than PES 2008, even though due to it's shittness I hardly played it, immediatly this felt much better, it like like PES. In my opinion this is what the first PES on the 360 should have been, PES gameplay with good graphics. It's definitely old school PES. This would have been fine when the 360 was 1st released but as it stands now FIFA has raised the bar and while I may actually get this also, it seems almost robotic when compared to FIFA's seemless play. I don't want to sound like I'm hating on Konami because this is a good game but FIFA is better. However I do now hold hope that Konami can push on from here. But for those who can't get into FIFA, I no longer pity you as IMO you have a good PES to play.

i would like to have another choice, but as a PC player, its pes hands down this year.
I'll wait one week before buying to read about online, but if it is not a disaster, i'll put Pes6 to rest in the shelve. It deserves it.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Gone a bit quiet. Everyone must be playing the xbox demo

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

The game has a lot of annoying little changes. It will take a lot of getting used to.

Also, other than the players the rest of the graphics are really quite bad. They kind of look out of place running around on a blurry pitch.

It's better than 2008 but I'm not sure by how much yet. I'll have to keep playing.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Are the camera options in the demo, the only ones in game? Or are there more, the auto feint thing is annoying me as well now.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Are the 'on the pitch' sounds really that bad?

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Right first of this is much better game then PES 2008 i played PC version last night and that had problem with 360 controller but i knew console would be fine.

Positives

* Much slower then PES 2008 no more arcade silly speed think could do with another notch though down.
* Sharper graphics
* AI seems better more intellligent still not up there with Fifa for me though.
* Got old school PES feeling but as Jay said this is what PES 6 should of been on 360
* Music better and menu are ok but nothing special still presentation needs to be worked on.

Negatives

* Running animations are just laughable hardly better then PES 2008 they could of put in more variation.
* Animation on whole poor feels robotic stiff and rigid and i think Fifa are much more seamless.
* Lack of fully manual controls.
* Keepers still not up to scratch better but still conceed silly goals due to poor parrying.

Overall its what i expected to play well but for me Fifa just set new level to beat now and whilst this plays well its still quite far behind for me. Dont get me wrong PES is decent again and that nice but many areas its still a long way behind and a new engine long overdue. :))

Are the 'on the pitch' sounds really that bad?

Yep , sadly. They haven't embraced modern sound technologies.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Sorry, my point about the transers in relation to the build version is that Berbatov is at man utd according to the review copy which is captured at:

http://www.pcaction.de/?menu=browse...d=660925&entity_id=-1&image_id=901452&page=12

Which makes me hope that the demo is not final build.

Update : I checked all the pics and Berbatov is also at spurs (uh - oh) So they must have edited it!
No, from my source, Berbatov play for Tottenham in the final version

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

...can't you just turn them down, if they annoy you? :| Or are they on the same "track" as the crowd? I sincerely can't remember.

For those of you who may want to know, there's already a time extender for the PC demo, as well as a camera-tilt option, from 0-9 just like the PS2 games :D

Cheers,

Paulo Tavares

With regard to the guy who posted in huge letters that "skipping frame" changes the game dramatically, yes it is true. I didn't realize I tried it with that option on by default, and it plays well. I took it off and it's super-slow, like unplayable, not slowdowns, just a steady slow-motion.

With "v-sync" turned on, it gets a little better but it's still slow. So I'm asking, what's the deal with skipped frames? Is it really bad? Should I choose the right speed with missing frames or all the frames with a slower pace?

I don't look forward to playing it in 5.1 then.

:((

Become a legend looks awesome

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

No, from my source, Berbatov play for Tottenham in the final version

Which is very normal by the way ... i guess that last minute transfers aren´t in the game, as the final build must have left Konami Developing Studios approx. 6 weeks before store date ...

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

1st game, 1st play, I pass to Ronaldo, run through a few defenders, unbalenced left-footed shot from over 30m away...

...goal.

:(

You're damn lucky, I didn't manage to score yesterday, when I played the demo.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Unimpressive demo.

This feels like a slightly slower, slightly better looking PES2008. It feels and looks too clunky and dated. Passing feels like kicking a lead balloon around and the thud when you kick the ball is annoying. Gameplay feels more automated and 'on rails' than ever.

Positives? The grass texture looks good.

Is the demo representative of the final build this year?

you need a strong machien to have that...:-ll

Just played the demo... oh dear, oh dear, oh dear...

Is Konami mocking me? Do they really believe this piece of crap will make me want to give money for the full game??

I'm disgusted!

Strange XD

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

To be honest there are plenty of other people who have posted negative reviews towards the demo. I'm one who isn't too impressed with what I've played so far.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Are there any one who played both pc and console versions? ı am curious if there are any differences because last year pc version was silky smooth 60 fps while console versions were lagging

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Yeah, ok, but what is preferrable between the two?
I thought I would be ok with a 8600gt, 2g ram and a T7500...

a laptop eh? i have a phenom 3core 9500gs...4gb ram....and it runs 1280x1024 x16AA/AF...with frame sk. unticked...but for you its a tough decision...maybe try medium?
