Well for now I just have 2 complains about the game.

I don´t know why they took GK cursor out of the game. We could avoid suffering many goals using gk cursor. I don´t understand. Also I don´t like manual (change player) because you have to change cursor every time you make a pass and that´s annoying. On the other hand if you play Semi then CPU will change it for you sometimes and that´s bad.

Apart from that I think the game is much better then PES 2008. No more kids running all the time with ronaldinho or zlatan. You have to stop the game. Think about what you´re going to do. Pass a lot, build up nicely and then you get the reward for that. It´s an hard game. And who plays football will win. Those who will play only dribbling and runs can go home because you will be smashed So I think there will be many ppl who doesn´t like the game because it is hard. I like it that way

It´s not a GREAT game. Personally I expected more but it´s better then PES 2008 (not sure if it is better then FIFA 2009 though... fifa is very realistic).

Also I have to mention that I don´t like the shots without R2. The normal ones. You seem not to have control over them.

That´s my opinion in the game. Not great, just better then pes 2008, but they can do better. At least now I can win games playing football and making a lot of passes and I will not suffer a goal from a ronaldinho run.

Now I´m waiting for tomorrow to get the PS3 version, because my PC sucks, I´m playing low resolution graphics. Also I think PS3 version is always better than PC one so tomorrow I will see

That;s not saying much. Ill DL the demo tonight to see myself. Comes out Oct 2 on 360 right?

Those of you who praise PES 2009 demo....wasn't this gonna be praised regardless? I get that feeling. I'm hearing "great game", "Good job Konami", etc. Im not saying it's bad...or good , obviously I havent tried it yet but from the looks of it, you guys are impressed very easily.

I think this game is very disappointing. The graphics are horrendous (model 3D is awful, just horrible), the gameplay is very bad (like FIFA to PC), among other serious problems.

Looks the awful 3D model:

Just Horrible! Shame Konami............. The worst game of Winning Eleven's series of the all time........

The gameplay is really annoying, not just the graphics are bad....

The game has some interesting elements, some things really are improved, but the final result is.............. bizzare

PES2008 is not a great game. But certainly the PES2009 is even worse... much worse =/

All I want to say after playing PES 2009 is that it made me realize just how bad PES 2008 was. PES 2009 is definately a better game, not even close. I will be playing this one for sure because even though its not the best Konami can offer, it is still very much playable and enjoyable game.

Those are the words.. playable and enjoyable instead of pes 2008 crap. However is not a great game. Can be the best pes ever for sure, but in 2008 with next gen power we need something else, something new. FIFA fanboys are right. That is just not enough. That´s why I´m going to buy fifa and pes this year. Play PES with friends as most of them like PES, and play fifa online when I´m alone.

I want also to say that I´m pretty sure console versions (PS3 & xbox) are much better than PC one. At least for me, because I played it with a bad engine as my pc sucks.

Good to see many positive feedback. Surely means PES is playable and enjoyable. Well, compared to pes 2008 that is..

All this coming from PC demo though, not sure how 360 and PS3 versions would be.

From what i've seen, PS3 version looked slower paced. Hoping 360 is the same.

hurm...see some improvement,but i do see a lot of the same thing. it's the same thing from PES2008. i really didn't think it's wrong to say it's the graphical enhancement version of PES2008. it really do. i was praying and hoping to see new animation.i mean a whole new. i don't wanna see the horrible robo animation again,i've seen that before in PES5. it's pes 2009 now man... didn't mean to bash the game,i love it,but it's just this two latest nex-gen series killing it softly. *sigh*

You know, it've been allways this way. They're patching the game continously, I remember PS2 days when 3 versions of the game were released every year: we, pes, we liveware evo, etc.
Actually, the more you play it the more u notice the changes, so I don't care too much about first impressions.
Anyway, can't wait to taste it :calmdown:

imo patches should be "free" true sequals should hve massive improvements over its previous sucessor.

this game feels more like pes08 v2.0 imo. they should have started from scratch really. make a brand new engine not this crap

PES2008 is not a great game. But certainly the PES2009 is even worse... much worse =/

Mate I think you need to check your eyes; PES2009 is miles ahead of PES2008 in terms of graphics...

Mate I think you need to check your eyes; PES2009 is miles ahead of PES2008 in terms of graphics...

M8 some noobs can't take cause pes is better then fifa. they will do all ridiculous things to make pes black. Played Pes2009 and is the best game i have seen.

I agree with you 100%. But for me this is a good game and it will have me entertained for a while. You put some valid points anyway, and I respect that!

I really enjoyed it! Played 5 or 6 games and scores were very low - some 0-0s too.

Love the weight of the ball now and I've hit some beautiful looking diagonal switches that look realistic now.

And personally, I think the graphics are superb. The 'Depth of field' feature (though masking Konamis lack of ability in getting a solid frame rate), works really well. Perhaps because I'm a photographer wannabe, that I really like that effect in my own work - but I do think it works well for this game. Also, I really like the player models. Faces are 99% realistic, kits look SUPERB and the models are defintely more details - things like muscles, veins etc - all very well done.

Overall, no complaints so far! I am one of the only people that really liked PES2008 - so with 2009 being an improvement on 2008, its made me happy!

Looking forward to the other modes now in the full game, especially 'Be a Legend'

This is great. I prefer this to any other footie game I have ever played and I say this after only playing 20 or so matches on a bad PC. My PS3 will be getting very overheated in the next few months!! Some people really annoy me with their biased and frankly unfounded PES-hate.

PES2008 was the worst PES ever but it was still better than the competition. But PES2009 is everything that PES2008 should have been and much more. You need to give a new PES time....but after a while you'll fall in love with it again.

And all these fookin' people that say there is no or little difference PES2008 and PES2009 are either blind or extremely dim.

Not impressed, hopefully this is not the final build (berba not at man u may suggest this)

Played about 10 - 15 games. My impressions:

+ great graphics

- Players feel like they are on ice
- Player dont make "suitible" runs
- Players do not hold position (at times everybody ends up in the middle 3rd)
- keepers (WTF?)
- how many times do player leave the ball behind?

At the moment I would rather play we2008 on ps2 - it murders this in gameply terms!

I'm looking forward to some decent option files for the PS3 version now the proper editor is back.

it is good but after playing fifa on the consoles my expectations have gone up a notch and now see this has a average footy game. its not leaps ahead of pes08 and imo this game should be a free patch for pes08 more then a full on game.

i have seen patches from various games that include a new mode or two plus gameplay improvements for free and thats how i see pes09. gameplay tweaks with 1 or 2 new game modes.

BTW that be a legend looks like a complete joke. it loosk very childish and arcady because when u make a good pass etc you get this arcady bell sound and a big score and message pops up. its as if im playing some sort of game i would play in the arcade.

Another thing i hate is teh lack of animations. fifa has alot more animations, in pes players seem to run the same way, tackle animations seem to generic and the ball bounces off players too fast and unrealisic.

i will give this game more thought later today if i can be tempted away from fifa09 but so far my initial impressions are not great.

all in all this game is not worth £10 let alone £40 that you console fans will pay for

Sorry, my point about the transers in relation to the build version is that Berbatov is at man utd according to the review copy which is captured at:

Which makes me hope that the demo is not final build.

Update : I checked all the pics and Berbatov is also at spurs (uh - oh) So they must have edited it!
