I have never read so much nonsense. PES is famous for the great gameplay and the AI is a big part of that.

Why don't you go ahead and play as a fixed player in any PES game and say that again. While you're at it you can compare it with playing BAP on FIFA. Good AI? That is a good one.

This is a good suggestion. It does show alot of weaknesses in PES AI that aren't as evident when playing normally. And overall FIFA08 and 09 have much better/smarter/more realistic movement of the ball and actions from players.

Remains to see how PES2009 will play in fixed player mode. PES2008 supposedly had new AI routines, but when you went to fixed player the whole match collapsed into a chaotic mess where your teammates almost never did the easiest, best or most logical decision.

I don't know where can i post this... It's a comparative (in french)
There is no section for comparative so...

In a test, there is not always what the gamer really research in a game...
For me it's all about the sensations felt through the pad, the management of timing, the stats reproduction, and ball/general physics that really counts...

why do you express your hate in this kind of unkind words? The man and his team gave me pleasure for years (except 2008) so a little more respect should be nice.

while i don't condone the use of derogoratory remarks for seabass, i do believe "evacuate" has a point though. as we have been asking konami to give goalkeepers proper stats for many games in the series, yet they still give goalkeepers outfield player stats with only a few stats that relate to goalkeepers.

but this is a liitle bit different with japanese and korean players, sure konami have still given goalkeepers and outfield players a mixture of each other stats but theyr'e also given them stats that aren't accessible to non-asian players.

and as we all know master league has stayed the same for througout the pes series with minor tweaks being to made to it along the way. but in the 2007 release of J-League Winning Eleven 2007 Club Championship. konami provided a slightly more realistic league structure for it's asian audience.

so they really seem to be be more focused with making the game better for the asian audience.

The immaturity and lack of intelligence from some of the people posting in this thread is rendering the contents of it's topic redundant.

:OT:

Please tidy up this thread moderators....:((

You should PM Tom, he won't stand for anything negative being posted about PES.

it's about the way how you are expressing yourselve; it has nothing to do with the critisism. I like al the WE and PES edition except 2008 was bad. But i realize i am happy with every year little changes (which are for me big). I also understand why people other then me want more; new engines graphics etc.

But thats not the issue: The issue is: if you are going to shout in this forum 'Seabass is a cuntface' etc. then this forum is getting to a very low level and the quality will go down which results in a death forum, and that would be a shame.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

IMO

u see some of the other games that are out atm not just football and look how sharp the graphics and detail is into the game, sometimes it makes u think why cant they keep abreast with things the online play for example whats the struggle.

i think komani should expand the division and put new people in the freshen up the game a bit

I love the way pes plays but apart from that what is there ??

I am not a PES hater i like the game much more than fifa but they are starting to loose the battle in the next gen wars .

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I think there is something you pes fans are not understanding. Untucked shirts are not allowed by FIFA before the match begins, or when a player is about to enter and substitute someone in the game. So... I think it´s real that they untuck the shirt during the game.

I'm perfectly aware of FIFA's rules on untucked shirts. I even mentioned it in a previous post.

And when they start enforcing the rule again (I think it was a 1998 World Cup directive), and everyone plays with their shirt tucked in, then at least there's an excuse for not having the option in the game. Until then...

It's pretty obvious Konami added the shirt-pulling and diving to PES2008 and discovered it wasn't compatible with having "already out" shirts, so they removed the untucked option from edit menu (though actually they've never had it on any Next-Gen console).

You'd have hoped that one of this year's minor tweaks would have been to reinstate this, seeing as a load of major football stars NEVER tuck their shirts in and officials NEVER make them, but apparently Konami don't regard it as important. Their lack of communication means we're left to assume they either don't know or don't care about it, rather than there being a reasonable justification for the decision.

Thanks for that. Very informative indeed, although I was just scanning through the final scores rather than translating French - English. :TU:

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

can we edit every team now like the old ps2 days?

Pretty sure the licensed teams are still locked. I'm guessing PES(1) was the last version in which all teams were editable, before the licensing drive kicked in. Maybe it was PES2 ?

I also recall there was a re-linking hack which allowed WE10 licensed teams to be edited via Option File Save messing about, it wasn't exactly part of the standard game.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Quite surprised to see the French review give PES2009 a higher score for multi-player than FIFA09... though I suppose they aren't including the online options judging by the "not tested" and "unconfirmed" scores for those elements.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

not again gamestar-vid, its old ... but you may have noticed, they said you cannot control GK anymore, there is no GK cursor in pes09!

its confirmed now by one of the players who could play final version @Rome ... also transfers not up to date as seen in all the screens

Are you kiddin', aren't you? This has been my particular "new feature" for a pair of years, and now i'm getting better every match i play. How are they gonna take that out of the game??!!!

I hope this is not true. If it is, I can do with out if the goalies are "That" good controlled by the AI.

i can only say what he told ... they could play many matches and as "pro gamer" or good player you need GK cursor, lets see whats this like without it, i cannot imagine right now ... i definitely need gk cursor :D

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

8) Still don't know if the Prem numbers can be added to the licensed Man U kit.

But unless there are numerous options under "kit style", this screenshot implies no untucked shirts in the edit mode - and it suggests you can't set high/low socks too. But HOPEFULLY that would all be in Kit Style - which I don't think we've seen in any of the pics ?

editing079.jpg

Oh yeah that would really bring the game down!

Or not... :brick:

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I see Konami is still making last minute tweaks to the game since those last vids looked much improved. If only they would remove the sandbags as well. I guess they can't since they need something to hold the net down to the ground.

Net-wise, if it actually affects the physics, why don't they just embed them in a green strip with identical appearance to the grass set just under the ground ? They can't seriously expect me to believe those sandbags are actually affecting the net physics anyway, and it's not like the net just disappearing into the ground is any WORSE than having the stupid sandbags.

If they made the actual mesh touch the ground rather than the loose strings they could just claim to have minute hooks holding it there and get rid of the sandbags - which to be honest they could just do now and leave the rest of it as it is with no-one being remotely bothered.

Not that I actually care about them much.

I think the sandbags should stay, i just love 'em. What in case of a flooding, they might come in usefull...

Speak for yourself, I happen to think the ability to create players who actually look and dress like the real thing is a major part of the realism.

FIFA has mo-capped chimps and generic clowns with terribly proportioned logos and adverts and rubbish numbers and names on their "official" kits and the ability to perform the physically impossible, which reduces ITS "realism", whilst PES has a bunch of players who never ever wear their shirts tucked in being forced to play with their shirt tucked in... until a defender pulls on it for them and then it's "allowed". It's just a stupid, pointless and annoying omission.

I'll put up with it if the gameplay is right, but that doesn't mean it's not a problem that should be addressed.
