Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

For me the best player in PES 2008 was Zlatan Ibrahimovic because of his body balance and how the game code favours body balance..

In PES 2009 for what I´ve seen Cristiano Ronaldo is the player with better stats. However we don´t know how game code is. Messi also good but only 69 teamwork. A lot of passes are wrong because of that. I also think that usually the best PEs player is personal (excepto pes 2008 crap). I usually like good passers (like gerrard, lampard) with good teamwork. Because I make a lot of passes. I prefer to have a great passer than a dribbler. (that´s why robben is on the bench when I play with my real madrid :D) And this year I expect to play with Guti, Sneijder and Van der Vaart all together, all great passers :)

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Well when we think that Cristiano scored 42 goals in one season.. and he´s not even a striker.. (even if he was, 42 goals is insane) goals + dribbling skills + free kicks + champions league title + english premier league title

I think it´s crazy to say he´s not the best player in the world lol

Messi is awesome but he needs to win something big

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Messi is too injury prone

and his finishing is pretty inconsistent

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I think there is something you pes fans are not understanding. Untucked shirts are not allowed by FIFA before the match begins, or when a player is about to enter and substitute someone in the game. So... I think it´s real that they untuck the shirt during the game.

Then the option could be called "have the player untuck his shirt as soon as the whistle is blown or as soon as he is standing still with nothing better to do". :)

Not arguing with you, just mentioning the obvious. As soon as the whistle blows the players are free to do whatever they want, and certain players who prefer their shirts loose and free would just untuck their shirts and that's that. I doubt they need to wait for an opponent to, potentially, pull their shirt. ;)

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Having watched the videos again, I must say the way the players move is very unrealistic, from the way they run and turn etc. While it looks a definite improvement on PES2008 I still feel after all these years we are being short changed especially with the capabilities of the PS3 and the XBOX 360. A new engine is definitely needed in my opinion.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I don´t like the auto feint. Apart from that is fine to me. The ball physics seem much better too. In that Croatia - Italy game the "croatian" one changed side with a long pass and the ball went slowly, not a bullet speed like in pes 2008. that´s good :)

Ronaldo is the best, imo. Messi is up there (even if Im a Real Madrid member, I admit this). Kaka is up there as well. Funny Robinho left us to be the best player in the world. :applaud: LOL!

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I agree with the last post, despite the good feeling about the 3 videos posted before. I don't feel that much of a difference, and it still annoys me how every pass seems to reach the player by curling a lot and even looking like the ball actually gains some speed during the pass....

I've watched a video by a portuguese sports newspaper who went to Rome event and they interviewed some testers and Seabass. He said that now they don't take that much attention to the players feedback (even if he considers it a precious help) as they did for the last 3 years, because their goal is to make the game fun and playable.
He still thinks that the AI and gameplay are better than FIFA ones and that they put a lot of effort on the online to make it a good experience, because they admit last year wasn't good. He said that they were still not happy with it because only 4 players could play at the same time..

About the testers, there was a finland guy that said that it actually feels like the old PES, after a criticized 08 version..and the swedish guy (Jesper, I think) spoke mostly about the CL game mode, and not so much about how he reviewed the game...

So I guess we have to wait until thursday. I'm not excited at all, maybe it can be good..to be surprised.

Yeah I didn´t expect robinho to left us.. wathever.. we have van der vaart :D and maybe we buy a good winger in january

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Ok there is an interview with Finnish beta testers and with seabass. This video was made by a well known portuguese sports newspaper called "A bola" (the ball in english) and it´s my favourite newspaper. Is also the newspaper wich sell more here in Portugal.

http://www.miragens.abola.pt/videosdetalhe.aspx?id=2494

I will translate the video:

At first the 2 finnish guys say that PES 2008 was dissapointing and that PES 2009 is like the old PES. Near previous PES (except PES 6 wich they also mention as bad). The 2nd finnish just talks about the champions league mode and about the fact that defenders are smarter and that it´s easier to defend.

In the interview with Seabass they ask "Why are short passes harder to perform in PES 2009? They´re not so accurate as in PES 2008."

Seabass says that "well the passes are not inaccurate at all. Actually they´re more accurate if you do them at the right time. If you loose that timing they will be inaccurate and I think that´s real. If your player is under pressure, if his direction is not towards a teammate or if you press constantly the X button, you can´t expect the pass to be accurate. I think this is realistic. We want the game to be as realistic as possible, but we also don´t want to affect gameplay. You must feel good playing the game."

realistic gameplay + fun as possible, it´s their goal.

After this the portuguese interviewer asks about online mode.

Seabass answer: "we know PES 2008 had much criticism about online mode, so in PES 2009 we renewed it to assure a good online experience. Everything is fine now. No one will be dissapointed this year, but I still not happy because I want more than 2vs2. That´s our next goal, we are already working on it.

After that another question: "now that you have champions league mode in the game you think PES is definetly for European gamers?"

Seabass: " no we want it to be for everyone around the world."

He also said "in the last 3 years we paid attention to our fans feedback only, to improve the game. But after pes 2008 release we start to putting our own ideas in the game and we want to surprise our fans with new things. Of course we still paying attention to fans feedback but not only that. We need more."

Then he talked about EA... saying "we have better AI and gameplay this year but EA stills leading in many other ways like the graphic engine and licenses; as we don´t have many licenses we have to provide a good gameplay, and this year we are better again."

last question:" tell me, you already have news about pes 2010? :D"

seabass:" of course I can´t tell you anything about pes 2010 but I´m excited because new consoles give you more possibilities and we can have a great AI in the game. The players behaviour will be really near the real life ones... pes fans will be suprised, and I´m excited with it"

That´s it. As you can see the game is harder, you must think before making a pass, I love the "timing" thing and the fact defence is more balanced :) Waiting for the demo

first prhase: i'll believe that one, based on the last 3 ROME video's;
second phrase: hope it isn't a false promiss.....

Seabass is so full of shit. It's like this every damn year in the interviews. Listen to the fans the last three years? What fans? Must be the japanese fans because they don't implement anything that we ask for...

And then he says they have the best AI that is life like. I doubt it, I really do. AI in PES has always been shit, but who knows maybe they rewrote everything. I don't trust anything that cuntface says anymore.

why do you express your hate in this kind of unkind words? The man and his team gave me pleasure for years (except 2008) so a little more respect should be nice.

I have never read so much nonsense. PES is famous for the great gameplay and the AI is a big part of that.

The immaturity and lack of intelligence from some of the people posting in this thread is rendering the contents of it's topic redundant.
