Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I never doubt that pes has better faces than fifa, but who played the fifa09s demo know that the faces are much better then this pictures. The fifas face are really good this year, but pes still better.

Well I have played it, and the faces are really not that good, the whole model seems weird, and the terrible use of the official licenses generally is just embarrassing.

It IS all about gameplay, but to take the actual kits the teams wear and then distort them as FIFA does is criminal. They can't get some of the big details right despite having the rights to do what they want, and the Prem number fakes in PES are much better than the rubbishy letter/numbers in FIFA too.

There's no argument from me that the Newcastle kit looks terrible, and a simply edited PES one will look better - just as the official license LAST season looked better.

As for the Xabi Alonso face, he didn't look like that in last year's version of PES, not sure why they've changed it or even if that's him for that matter!!

But aaaaaanyway, as it IS about gameplay, that's the only real thing I'll be judging on. And I've already checked out FIFA and it seems the same as last year, which was decent, but I soon got bored (and annoyed at the lack of customisation).

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I too think that it's all about the gameplay and i think the FIFA demo was amazing gameplaywise (but we are not allowed to talk about it).

But since we were talking about faces (who, granted are a very minor aspect of the games) i think we "fanboys" have the right to make that comparision and think that the faces in PES are better...i honestly think that isn't a big deal.

If i've hurt someone's feelings, i am very sorry and would like to apologise...

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

The question is, when you start playing it you will "feel" that he is Xabi Alonso , just pressing your pad buttons :) because he will be heavy and slow but will make killer long passes and take good corners :) that´s the "PES thing" as I call it

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

A question: juventus have official fonts and numbers in pes 2009?

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Strange how as soon as there's a hint of FIFA v PES discussion on this thread the kiddies are out in force with their biases and lack of a coherent detailed argument (on both sides), when we pretty much managed 200 pages with only a couple of spats until then.

I've still got an open mind on which (if any) game to get, at the moment I'm leaning towards PES2009 just because I like a bit of editing to make things how I like them - but I won't buy it if the gameplay is the kind of rubbish that I felt HyperPES 2008 Dribbling Edition was, and thanks to the import issue I might actually end up buying a PS3 to play it on.

I suppose it's only logical, I bought a PSX for ISSPE and a PS2 for PES2, so that follows.

We could also go to fifa thread and make fun of FIFA Rooney Zombie face. It´s curious how every fifa lovers came here to make fun of a bad face. Go play FIFA online with your custom players positions on the field and use supercancel a lot, and leave us alone :)

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Those eyes make him look chinese. His face was perfect last year, why change it? The same can be said about Owen and Nasri. I reckon both have had their faces changed for some reason. Nothing major anyway just strange in this instance

So it's ok to point out the bad FIFA faces and slate them, yet when someone points out one bad PES face, then we are making fun of them and should go away?

And also, custom player positions are in PES as well and super cancel is needed more in PES as the AI needs more manual correcting than in FIFA.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

the edit mode is not as good as the ps2 version, you cannot add font text to kits which is a digrace. also if you need to keep adding jpegs to each individual kit and there being only spaces for 40 available,it will be only possible to make 10 full kits in the edit mode(1 home,1 away and 2 keeper kits)

also its possible to make 36 boot types on pes5 and 6,why have konami gone backwards again with only 16boot slots?

This whole limiting aspect in edit mode is ludicrous. How much is one jpeg file? 150k? I'd love to know why they do it.

I don't understand why they can't give more space on the disk and as more blanks for teams and leagues?

These ones are great!! And the stats are finally acurate for these players. Well done konami, I´m dying to play this game! Great faces and very acurate stats! Finally De Rossi is very good, also giovinco and lavezzi

because they can get away with it,the edit mode this year is alot better than last year so many people will overlook it. its still not up to the ps2 game from 3years ago,but thats what konami do every year just add a little bit more to keep everyone onside,:brick:

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Emanuel you are even more upbeat the badgerman, i hope it's half as good as you hope it is it will be fantastic, I'd like to be able to see what people liked about 2008 so if it runs on my PS3 without jerkiness and mass slow down I'll be happy, i really hope they pull one out of the can as they say and shock a few...

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I can't understand why people wet themselves over stats. They are only a rough estimate. Individual players will perform better or worse determined by their coloured arrows (grey, blue, green, orange, red). This adds or deducts from their stats, just as players have good and bad days irl.
Furthermore, their stats often go unrealistically ballistic in ML mode (particularly the younger players). Most young promising players don't realise their potential. So think about that the next time you cry because someone's pass accuracy is only 82!!!!!

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Just want to say those new videos of Pes look great. I was getting worried about this years version. Edit mode looks fantastic also. It looks to me like we have 2 great football games out this year as FIFA demo has been suprisingly good.

I didn´t like PES 2008. I played FIFA 08, but I´m sure PES 2009 will be good as previous games, because they would not make the same mistake 2 years in a row :) And the more I see from PES 2009, the more I like. New videos are good (good pace, passing to create chances). New stats seem acurate, faces are good also, so I´m expecting a good PES. And a good PES is enough for me. It doesn´t need to be a GREAT PES.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Can you choose to go a defender on Be a Legend?

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I love snapping people :(

Wonder if someone will release a patch for it. Nar, sounds too complex.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

For me it could even don´t have that legend mode. I don´t really care about it. But for ppl who like to play that mode I understand how bad is that you´re not allowed to play with a defender.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Babilayna FC and Athletic Club Salsabie

Thijs, Reeves, Schwarz, Chacon. It looks like those made up teams that you first start in, are made up of the ML youngsters.

The days of being surprised by what EA has to offer are long gone my friend. After 08 it was expected that EA would do some great things with 09. Roles have been reversed and now I will be surprised if Konami actually deliver a true next game and some innovation.
