Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I know what you mean mate...

I been sayin for ages that the game will be viewed for the majority of the time zoomed as far out as possible rendering most small graphical details obsolete...:brick:

If me and my mates are happy with it on PC format that'll do me...

If Cristiano Ronaldo aint got any spots......i aint buying it.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Personally i also think that the PES faces look much better, but then some people come here to tell that the technology to make the FIFA faces is far more advanced...IMHO it's the result that counts.

But to be fair, i do agree with Robs remark about far camera view, so when playing the game this does not matter...

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I also notice how faces which PES do better got picked out, when there's a big bunch of them on the site.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I think the faces are equal.

Some players look better in Fifa, some players look better in PES. But all in all there is not much a difference.

But the hair look a way better in Fifa.

But these things aren't that important.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I never doubt that pes has better faces than fifa, but who played the fifa09s demo know that the faces are much better then this pictures. The fifas face are really good this year, but pes still better.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Faces look good in PES, in a charicature dated way.

Right thats made my mind up then Im buying FIFA now i know the players have better hair..FFS
Why cant people on here just be honest and stop being Fan Boys. PES and ISS used to be superb and by far the best football game created..Now FIFA 2009 is out it's not even close ( thats if you are looking for a true representation of football and not a game where you can dribble the full length of the field with a decent player) Until PES 2009 is out then nobody knows which will be better but seeing that all the PES Fan Boys talk about is faces then I think deep down we all know the answer

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

i have been looking at the pes2009 stats....it seems as though some of the stats have lowered, does this mean the main players ie.stars like ronaldo, messi etc....are no unstopperble...or will you stil be able to run the pitch like in pes2008

Sorry but your post doesn't make sense.

"Beattie" in the FIFA thread pointed this one out:

I notice how this one is conveniently avoided by the PES fans who rave about their brilliant faces... :-ll

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Kits are much better than FIFA 09 when you look carefully. In FIFA, colours of kits are much darker than real and logos has different size from the real. Numbers and letters are horrible in FIFA too.

Can you please explain why..my contacts are playing up tonight but ive just has a go at reading it and it reads ok..admittedly not publishing material but we are on a football forum..maybe if i make it simpler.. PES used to be good but now its shit...FIFA used to be shit but now its good..thats basically what i was trying to say

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Fifa has many bad points, but also Pes has many bad points.

I don't think it is correct that PES Fans compare player faces in that way.
First they show zoomed-in photos of Pes and compare that with zoomed-out photos of Fifa.

Also this comparision is not needed. It only leads to Pes vs Fifa Discussion.

Fifa can also make photos of goal nets and compare them with Pes ones. That would be the same.

There are way more things more important like gameplay and editor.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

As Jamezinho said, I find it funny how PES fans are now picking up on all the minor graphical faults in FIFA, when a couple of years ago, the same people were saying "it's all about the gameplay, graphics are not important"...

About the faces, this is a slight exaggeration but is fairly close to the mark I reckon:
PES faces are like you going on the internet, finding a good picture of the player's face, printing it off, laminating it and then sellotaping it to your face tightly, then finding a wig which looks like the hair of that player and then claiming that you are a lookalike of the player.

a fast viewing ant i found these ones

...

now you answer me:

Are these FIFA players supposed to be the real ones?

oh, come on! :LOL::LOL::LOL:

PES faces are much and much better, and will be forever! :DD:DD

PS: what's that little tiny "Northern Rock" logo on Newcastle's kit? why that small?

Well at least FIFA does HAVE it on his shirt , and not those dirty grey-black stripe-less kit of Cewnastle or whatever fake name they're going to use :-##:COAT:

But I have admit that Cristiano Ronaldo pic is awesome :TU:

Lol yeah you're right, it's kinda childish and frustrated reaction 'cause their beloved game needed to take steps back this year to become back a decent game.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

now, this thread become a faces thread. we need a face maker over here!

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

This FIFA vs PES discussion sucks...

It is personal. if you like fifa go play it and leave pes forums, if you like pes play it and leave fifa discussion. PES 2008 was bad, but it was the only version that dissapointed me so far. Even Seabass admited the game was not good, so in PES 2009 everything will be the same again for us, PES fan boys. For those who are just too used to great graphic engine and stuff, turn to fifa and leave us alone. We want gameplay only. And yes, FIFA 08 and FIFA 09 are much more realistic than PES 2008, I played fifa 08, euro 08 and fifa 09 demo but no way I have the same excitement playing it as I had with previous PES (except 2008). They´re on the right direction though.

That's a joke surely, I'm sure if you asked all the people on Evo-Web who play FIFA, they would tell you they rate gameplay over graphics in terms of importance in a game.

Why would they have played PES and loved it before if they were graphics whores? FIFA always had the better graphics on last generation consoles, yet we played PES because it had the better gameplay...

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

right, pes 2008 had bad gameplay but it was like an acident admited by konami. Just relax and enjoy pes 2009, Don´t expect it to be like 2008 crap..

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

the solution is easy really

re package fifa 09 as pes2009 and you will all be happy and rebadge pes2009 as fifa 09 and you would all be slating it

cya

The stats are only there to differentiate between players. The changes in gameplay dynamics is far more vital to remedy what you are talking about than the stats. Even if you kept the stats from PES2008 the same, just changing the dynamics of the gameplay, sorting out responsiveness for defending players off the ball and such, and making ballcarriers less agile and quick than before, would sort the problems. PES2008 was arcady, especially when it came to how the ballcarriers could move around, which contributed to an overall unrealistic balance between defence and offence, even if you weren't Messi or Ronaldo. :)

So, they could make the highest stats less impactful/useful/superhuman, without having to actually change the stats for each player.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I don't think so that KONAMI don't know about new dashboard and do something to not use some function to edit.I think that the most important thing is possible to copy jpg and mp3 files in xbox 360 to hdd.The patch makers need new tools in xbox 360 which is only on Ps3 and new dashboard enable to do this the same as Ps3.

Konami (well, Seabass in the interview from WENB) didn't even know about Trophies in PS3, I'd be surprised if they knew to add some functionality to PES2009 on 360 for it to work with a feature which isn't even out yet, especially with the comnents about their PES2009 modes already being in place in September 2007.

It's not just one mistake though, it's just the direction they are going with the series (Seabass said himself they are aiming at casual gamers as well, meaning a proper simulation is very unlikely) and the general feel of the game which has not changed at all since PES3 really.

the solution is easy really

re package fifa 09 as pes2009 and you will all be happy and rebadge pes2009 as fifa 09 and you would all be slating it

Exactly, just because it's called PES these people feel they have to get all defensive about it and have to praise the very few/minor positive things remaining in PES.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

It´s not because it´s called PES, it´s because in 10 games of the series there is one really bad (PES 2008) and other 9 awesome and unique ;) So I have no doubts that PES 2009 will back to his place.

And no, even if fifa 09 was called PES I wouldn´t like it as I like previous PES. I wouldn´t have a formations menu before every online match with time to do my formation, but all as I want. Defensive and attacking arrows, exactly players positions on the field, roles, etc Also I wouldn´t have a responsive and magnificient super cancel, and I wouldn´t really notice the difference between controlling kaka or robben as I notice in PES. Even the "pad feels different" playing with each player :) You understand now our point? There are just much things fifa doesn´t have wich makes all the difference and keep us away from saying "I feel great playing fifa". EA is on the right direction but they´ve not reached it yet. Stills PES for me.
