MP3 only for PS3

is that for the chant importer?

because if its only for custom music to listen to in menus and such there is nothing konami can do to prevent 360 users from listening to custom soundtracks because it is in the hardware  (so false info)

but if its for the chants then thats a bummer

You mean for 360 it's like put a CD on you CD player, that bad
So the music don't change from different menu, need cut the music when the match star etc...

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

ooooooh PS3 version has an IN GAME soundtrack editor(where you can put your music from XMB into)? lolololol who cares :| i can still listen to my music on the 360 version anytime (although pausing and that is abit annoying) but i dont like custom music in footy games anyway :? i listen to hip hop mostly thats probably why :|

so about chants..........thats for both consoles right?

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Yes, but unfortunately 'the game that shall remain nameless in this thread' has already set a precedent by charging for DLC (ie.up-to-date rosters) for this year. It will be a nice surprise if Konami don't charge.

FALSE - don't know where you got this from but not cool to spread misinformation here if it's avoidable.
Just to clarify for informational purposes only - 'the game that shall remain nameless in this thread' is NOT charging for roster updates. Maybe you're confused in regard to the new 'Live Season' feature (in which continual updates will be provided every single week), which is an optional pay DLC, but even that is free for one league.

Hearing that Caniggia likes the game alot this year is wery good ,since he didnt like the pes 2008 version at all,the same goes for Erik at level 7 he seems to have great fun with the game and he said that the rome version has made more progres than the version he played for a few monts now
Erik was´nt positive about pes 2008 either
And these two always have fair reviews and tell if the game is good or bad no matter what others think

That's not true though. There will be the usual free squad updates on the game's release and following the closing of the January 2009 transfer window, "Adidas Live Season" is not an "up to date roster" at all.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

yeah squad updates will always be free in fifa, its just the weekly stat updates in the Adidas live season

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

To be fair the first update has added Manucho and Possebon to the United squad who arent in the default one.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Lol at rutters henchman that pounce when you say something wrong about fifa.
Are they seriously going to charge weekly? Sorry this is in the wrong thread.

Im screwed here in South Africa this year
PES will only be available about 3 weeks after the UK date. I'm going to make a few more calls tommorrow though. Here's hoping I can get it earlier than the UK date as was the case with PES2008

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

If PES 2019 was still built off the same engine as 09, would you still buy it?
Things need to move on, you wouldn't go and buy a PS1, you wouldn't go and buy FIFA 98, you wouldn't buy a PC with Windows 98 with 64mb RAM and no graphics card would you?

So if the answer to those is no, why would you buy PES 09? The core of that game is about as old as those things I mentioned above.

We've had practically the same game now for about 10 years, it's hardly changed, it doesn't even use analog sticks at all and PS1 controllers had them.
So they have had the chance to implement some sort of analog control (be it player movement or passing/shooting) since 1995 (PS1 release date in UK), yet they havn't even bothered with it in those 13 years, that just shows a complete lack of effort and willingness to try something new.

All the reasons you've quoted is what I love about PES and why I bought Megaman 9! Sometimes in gaming when you've got a winning formula, you don't dump it completely ala (Metal Gear, Halo, GTA) but you tweak it and try new things and improve upon it.

I hate Zelda Windwaker but loved Twighlight Princess, why? because I longed to play a game very similar to Ocarina of time, which IMO was perfect!

PES must remain the same at its core, just update graphics and tweak and add new features but don't change what made it fun.

What you're saying is like, MGS 4 is the same as the others were and we wouldn't buy and play MGS4, if it was similar to MGS1- guess what it is with improvements and it is awesome. Yes I know it has a new graphics engine but that takes years to build and Seabass has improved the PES graphics with the engine they have in the time that they have. Eventually, a new graphics and possibly game engine will be implemented when it's completed. They can't delay PES for 6 months like Kojima can with MGS4 you know.

Some say fire Seabass and his team, why because the game isn't what you want? Well, fire Kojima and his team as well, because MGS hasn't really changed in 10 years, essentially, just pretty graphics and update storylines. Please! Don't like MGS 4,fine, but millions love it, same with PES. I hated Zelda Windwaker and didn't touch it, but I didn't think Shigeru Miyamoto should be fired, since I knew he made the games that I loved in the past and he came good with Twilight Princess.

I know that people will bash the game no matter what. I remember the PES 5 and 6 bashing when it was released. I thought those games were immense, the best football games to date, so I'm not concerned with the negativity in that sense.

Exactly my point. If the animations are fixed, they will moan about sandbags. If the speed is fixed, they will moan about "Who ate all the pies?" banners. If the goalies are way better, they will moan about Mickey Mouse's gloves. And so on...

I guess some people take the game as something personal...

Confirmed the characteristics that demo will have: -4 jugables equipment: Argentina, Sweden, Germany and Spain. -10 minutes of party juiceable. - A stage to choose. - Election of rain or sun in climatologic conditions. - 2 players simultaneously will only be able to play each party.

Excuse my confusion it caused during the week.

A shooting game such as MGS is not comparable to a football game, regarding whether new engines are needed or not.

What do you do in a shooting game?
Point gun at someone
Pull trigger
They die

What more can be done?
Better AI
Better hit detection
Better sound effects
Different/continuation of storyline
Better graphics
More weapons

All those things have been done with recent shooting games, making new engines won't do much/anything to improve shooters as shooters are just about running around and shooting people (in various ways, some tactical, some not so).

Football is far more complex than just running around and gunning people down, or jumping through stages like on Megaman. The physics, AI, collisions etc need to be very complicated to produce a realistic experience, PES doesn't do this at all.
PES is like playing a shooter with auto-aim on to me now.

Hey, I updated my previous post to expand upon a few points- Rob92. I see what you say about shooters but essentially what we loved about MGS is still intact, in MGS4. People demanded that Kojima do MGS4 and not another team because he had done so well in the past. Sure, another team could fix the nets and fix the gloves in PES but the gameplay may be broken in many aspects and what then? Seabass must prioritize and I'm sure there are things that are checked off this year that you will eventually find out if you play PES2009.

You are right, Football is far more complexed and not easy to do every possible thing in just a year's time. If you don't like this year, you always have the next. However, if they change the core gameplay or Seabass and his team, it is such a big risk that the outcome will be a shambles and with only a year, it's almost impossible.

Oh Mr. Maycon your posts are perhaps the best in the entire thread. I love the jugables. Who doesnt? ;) As for 10 minutes of party juicable, woah thats like so totally cool. And on top of that we have an election of rain or sun in climatologic conditions. Well that makes Obama vs McCain look silly now. My vote goes to sun.

Actually the issue is not that people here are simply moaners but rather that Konami refuses to listen to their consumers at all which breeds frustration and anger amongst them over the years. PES has NOT been an evolution virtually in any sense of the word and all these niggling issues you mention should have been addressed by now.
Most of us here have invested a good deal of money in next-gen game systems and the latest high end media equipment (TV's, Surround systems), and it's not unreasonable to expect game companies to keep their product moving forward to match the technology.
PES is stuck in last generation mode - everything about it from animations to graphics is stale and dated. I certainly can understand how some people are still happy with it (my Mum is still surrounded by old fashioned kitchen appliances and refuses to go modern as she feels safe and comfortable with what she knows) - but to accuse people of being moaners and having a personal vendetta against the game simply because they want Konami to get off their cheap, lazy arses and move PES out of the past and into the next generation doesn't seem justifiable.

It's a old news from PESfan or Pelluk, but i don't think Konami put a Germany (unlicenced team) in the demo.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Mates from Germany could play PES09 (final build) at PES European Championships in Rome this weekend (btw we are European Champions!!! 1st and 2nd both German players ;) ). Not much to say, but they said its completely different from Leipzig Demo, they all liked it. (but i have to say, they really like PES to death and especially the one who wrote this all^^, he also liked PES08)

Konami said to them, Online-mode will be much better, better servers, they did many tests for this years version. I still dont believe, wanna see it with my own eyes.

And Shingo Takatsuka apologized again on press conference in Rome for PES08, some of his words were like this: "PES 2008 is like the new Ronaldinho - PES 2009 ist like the old one..."

nothing new really, just wanna share this with you ... the players (1st, 2nd and 3rd place or only European Champion? dont know exactly) should have their PES09 copy now, as prize ... at least last year they got their copy

Lol at rutters henchman

Don't be so pathetic, someone posted something that was incorrect, so some of us corrected it. So if someone posts something incorrect about PES and people correct it does that make them Seabass' henchmen? I'm surprised at such an immature response from you.

Yeah it was a little daft. It just seemed amusing at the time. Please forgive.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I´m very disapointed with PES 2009 player stats. They´re almost the same as PES 6 and PES 2008. Daniel Alves should be the best Right Back in the game, bosingwa should have much more stamina, Fernando Torres should be one of the best strikers in the game and he just has 87 shot acc, he is not that good in the game.

I´m dying to see Van der Vaart stats and Sneijder ones. I bet they´re very bad in the game. It´s incredible how konami just doesn´t care. I give much importance to the stats. Unreal stats ruin the game!

It looks to me that some of the really great players have been downgraded a bit (example: adriano), and that's a good thing cuzz some were obvious a bit over the top. I hope they didn't downgrade the average players so that it's gonna be more levelled out in comparison.

So if they really did it like that, then I think you're not completely right with your comment.
I think 87 on shot acc is not bad at all, tevez just has 81 on shot acc so I think its good in comparison, maybe they put it a bit down cuzz scoring was a bit easy in 2008!

Some players are indeed not "completely" right but Sneijder and VdV are rated pretty good in the 2008 version in my opinion

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I'm sorry but 87 shot accuracy is not bad at all. Van der Vaart and and Sneider are brilliant in PES2008.

PES has a way with the stats, I mean I played against a friend of mine with Barca he was Man U. I completely neutralised CRonaldo with Abidal to the point where he demanded me to show his stats. Also Colocini has poor stats but he defends like a demon.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I disagree since I think Sneijder deserv more than 90 for long and short passing. Van Der vaart should be among the best offensive midfiliers in the game. He is class. He is not fast but he keeps the ball under his feet and has great passing abilities, dribbling ones (slow though). Pablo Aimar stills better than van der vaart in PES 2008 and that´s nof realistic. And if we think that Ronaldo (the fat one) has 90+ acceleration and all those incredible stats.. we can see that they´re not doing it well. Thuram is also overrated, saha, micahel owena and so on.

Yes everyone in Real Madrid should be 90+ we get it.
