Great videos, probing and passing in order to create space, that's what football is about. To omany feints though, slow down the flow, but playing two players on the comp will be wi wi wi wicked IMO.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Licenses are not needed if Seabass had even half of a brain he would create real league and cup structures with fake names.
Create all the real teams and players with fake names (most could even still have real names)
And create an amazing in-game editor stupid obvious things like this have gone undone for too long now.
The Japanese dont buy any other football games anyway and thats the only ppl he cares about.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Finally!! some PS3 vids. And from the looks of it, the PS3 version seems slower and more improved than the 360 versions vids I've seen. This is interesting. Gameplay looks very much improved in those vids and I am very excited to get my hands on this baby.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Too bad his hands are very very shaky .. got dizzy after a few seconds of watching :(

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Watched again, very very promising.

Two little flaws:

1. Players take a little longer than expected to control (perhaps more through balls would help with momentum when receiving, x passes slow players down)

2. The feints happen often, but maybe it takes getting used to.

Other than that:

Defending looks better
Positioning seems very good from both attack and defense
Probing for passes is more fluid
Passing looks crisper
Ball physics look much improved
Collisions seem much better
Shots better
Speed better
Crosses better

These vids got me excited again.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

:applaud: Looks so much better than PES 2008. Dare i say it, maybe all is not lost.

Now I´m dying to play this. I can´t even compare those last videos to the 1st ones. Now I see a "PES 2009" and not a "slight better PES 2008".

- I saw some new shooting and passing animations. And the keeper has many new animations!

- No crazy individual runs all along the field dribbling all defenders

- pass pass pass pass, it seems we need to build up nicely to reach the box and creat a goal chance

- it was good to see how croatia defenders could steal the ball to cassano or toni, defence seems more balanced within attack

- 2nd video last tevez shooting -> the build up, the shooting animation, the movements, just perfect

- crosses seem to be really good. I already said that when I saw the german video yesterday (Man utd vs Inter), the ball physics are very good when the player cross the ball, and the crosses seems to be really dangerous (like in PES 3 and PES 5) and that´s real, because in real football the defenders "fight" like crazy to avoid a cross from their opponnet, crosses are really dangerous in football

I´m excited with those videos. Fingers crossed :)

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

This is funny, everyone's getting excited about the videos now.

I've liked the look of the gameplay in lots of the videos, but you did't see many shots there in those last 3 vids.....just a corner goal (i hate corner goals)....the passing looked fine to me yes and the player animation sems a lot better than in PES2009. If the keepers had let in a 30 yard shot, everyone would have hated it.:LOL::LOL:

I'm not judging it overall until i've tested those goalkeepers myself and tried to score direct from a few corners. I'm more optimistic than pessimistic though, considering the latest videos.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

new france kit still hasnt been updated:((

And i think it wont
I think konami have put the Euro 2008 squads just like putting the WC 2006 squads in pes6.

video looks good. ive never been really negative
i just need to play myself before judging.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

The videos are not good quality, but they look really good.

As I said, I feel bad knowing that some guys in the world already have this puppy on their PS3's :(

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Being overly tactical is all up to the player. The ability to do so is there for you. Optional. But whats really important is the package they are putting together. 10 vs. 10 online, Adidas Live, , Be A Pro seasons, much polished gameplay, physics, etc. To me, it's looking a complete package., I can even play online silky smooth and not worry about lag, disconnections (if it's like 08, which it most obviously will be). It has next gen written all over it. It wont be perfect but I think they are totally listening to the community. Something Konami could care less about. Bottom line is PEs is being left behind. IMO. It's as if they are using the original sony walkman while EA is using the ipod. IMO of course.

Let's just say I don't care for the packaging, and I want a core football game. I still think PES does the job there, and the main thing holding the game back is the player animation. The physics engine, for me, has no equal. It's those damn animations, player movement (I want more control), and transition between animations.

I agree, but let's not get to happy. It should be nice to see if PRO EVO can come back to it's normal level, but... ONLINE should be ok; if not it's a failure.

Running animations look better now! lets hope it is not just an effect of a bad quality video.

There is a difference though, Konami had WE10 with the WC2006 squads in it and the following October's PES was just the European release of WE10 with a few added players; there's no earlier new-version Winning Eleven Japanese release with the European squads in it any more (JLCC 20xx) has mostly different teams), so there's no excuse to be updating from 6 month old squads.

There never was anyway, but you could at least see the logic.

I've only looked at the first video, and 90 degree turn fake animation aside (now I know why people were complaining about it), the game looks playable and enjoyable. That's actually made me consider just buying it without renting first again. There's a flow, there are no blatant flaws, and hey, football at the top level is a quick game - provided defenders have a decent chance of getting the ball back even from the top players, I'm all in favour of that.

Still, I have a couple more videos to watch yet.

On the first video, right in the beginning, check how taht guy falls down after getting fouled ... awesome ... this can not just be due to the bad quality of the video!

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I think the videos are a vast improvement...Ofcourse, there is a lot that can be improved in the game judging by the videos but it still looks like a fluent game where build-up seems important and the way you approach a game seems to have quite an influence too...A couple of things that irritated the hell out of me seemed to be diminished (e.i. running animations, weird positioning, keeper errors...) There are still quite some flaws in the game, but the latest vids made me a bit more positive which is always a good thing.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Demo hits on 2nd October, you will be able to choose between ManU, Liverpool, Real, Barcelona, Italy and France:

Demo kommt am 2. Oktober

And a second article, saying the same:

as you look at the teams that are inserted, it will not be the early build that was shown on some events.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I waiting a official confirmation by Konami

The first article says: "Konami kündigte eine Demo an" which means in Englisch: "Konami announced a demo". And since Gameswelt is a reliable source, i think it's ok, BUT i agree that we have to wait untill thursday.
