Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Why do they mention key clubs such as Inter Milan? Does this mean that only individual Serie A teams are licensed like La Liga or is it just mentioned for the sake of it. You can never be sure with Konami. ;)

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

all serie a teams are licensed, but the competition itself not. so they have to list them as single clubs, not as serie a.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Ah thanks OPM. That clears it up then.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

in previous PES games there was one Seria A team not licensed. Couldn't remember which one...

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has confirmed a number of additional licenced elements for its forthcoming PES 2009 title. Due for release on October 16th for PLAYSTATION®3, Xbox 360 and PC-DVD, the new game will benefit from the inclusion of some of the world’s biggest club and national sides.

Following the recent announcement of Konami’s four-year agreement to feature UEFA’s Champions League competition in the game, the publisher has also added a strong selection of other licensed teams for use in the game. The Dutch Eredivisie and French Ligue 1 will both be represented in their entirety, with full kits, player rosters and affiliated elements. Likewise, key clubs such as FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, FC Porto, Liverpool and Manchester United, will also be resplendent in their official livery. Other additions include the likes of Zenit St. Petersbourg and Brondby IF, amongst others. Konami has also added a number of new national sides to PES 2009, with Northern Ireland amongst those added to the International rosters of respected teams like Netherlands, England and Italy.

The publisher has also included several new stadia in the new game, with faithfully recreated versions of the Stade de France, Stadio Olimpico di Torino and the new Wembley Stadium included for the first time. These new agreements confirm Konami’s commitment to constantly adding new licences to the PES series

Well, at least we know the game is still coming on the 16th.

Hm.
Napoli?
Or is it the other way around, and it's FIFA who don't own the napolitan licence?

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

Of course they did not change the release date. Told you the other day that it would be illogical ;)

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

What's with the "Who ate all the pie" and "celery!" in the stadiums, is it some running joke I've totally missed?

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

I was just going to say; glad to see the celery banners are still in there. ;)

Some people will love that because it takes them back to "old times"; I think that's PES's main audience now. Personally I just think it looks utterly stupid, and the game would look ten times more professional with no banners whatsoever if they're only going to talk about pies and celery on them.

And yes, of course, gameplay is all that matters. But come on. In this day and age, that's just... Weird.

Now im getting a little more interested its about time.

These new agreements confirm Konami’s commitment to constantly adding (and removing) new licences to the PES series.

Fixed. :brick:

another ridiculous news from Konami. reading that seems almost that they are actually ADDING SOMETHING NEW, but aren't! for Konami loosig entire league licenses means nothing if they add one or two stupid new teams... their marketing is even worse than EA's!

they makes embargos and releases those ridiculous news like that's something good, and isn't! in the meantime still no the info about edit mode, only speculations...

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

why are you blaming them? it's the usual marketing bullshit you will hear from EVERY company.
it's not like they are the big exception allways telling the truth...they want to sell a product, they try to place it the best they can.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

If you think they are losing licenses by choice then you need to think again.

The red tape enforced by Fifa has ben something that Konami has tried to dance around for the past 10 years, who knows where Pro Evo would be these days if they didn't have to fanny about with makeshift measures whilst EA simply arsed about, doing bugger all with basically every license ever, minus Oliver Kahn.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

EA's money hats have contributed but not to the extent that they can't add new teams/leagues without taking team outs. I stand corrected but the only exclusive leagues that they have are the Mexican league, EPL and La Liga (this season).

Konami have no excuse.

There is no logic behind Konami...none whatsoever...

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

When we're talking about licenses it pretty much comes down to the EPL. It's got the biggest global following and all that malarky. Yeah, having La Liga and Serie A was nifty, but if I can't play as Portsmouth then I don't really give a shit.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion Etc. (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS OR POLITICAL CHA

They can still implement changes another way; more free slots, expanded editing options....PES feels really restricted the last 3 years and Konami can do much, much better.
