We should be able to choose manual passing and use the pass buttons same as Fifa, having to move the right hand off the buttons onto the analogue stick is really stupid IMO.
How do you know? Last year there was also no news about going gold.It isnt even gone gold yet.......
You mean like this? But there is nothing like the site that was opened just a few week before the release of PES2008? Nothing official, i mean..?
To Suff:
Hi there. I just listened to the podcast, and even though I enjoyed it, there is one thing you said which I must strongly object to, I'm sorry
The fact that you guys are such a well-respected source with a huge audience makes it a terrible, terrible mistake when you povide such mis-information. I wouldn't be so pissed off at it if I hadn't had an argument a couple of days ago when someone in a forum told me that the difference between PES's and FIFA's faces is because FIFA's faces were in 3D... When I heard such a statement, it genuinely pissed me off... Now it actually makes it more clear where he got that argument from
Please take my points not as a direct attack, but as a constructive criticism to clear the ideas that you might have gotten into some people's minds.
For starters, how can you even begin to say that FIFA's faces are 3D models, and PES's aren't? From the beginning of the days that PES's faces have been 3D models. When you go to the Edit mode, before PES2008, all you could do was exactly that: mdel a face in 3D! You'd stretch the chin, you'd change the face width, you'd change the nose size and shape, move it up or down in the face... That is what a 3D model is, mate! In PES2008 it's just the same thing, with the added bonus that now you - a user - can put your face in the game by using a picture, instead of having to edit manually which can be a pain. The texture mapping that PES uses is more of a technical achievement that results of an improvement over the 3D model, than a technical flaw that the tone you gave to it in podcast implied It adds realism, it is not an old-style camouflage that they are using to disguise something they're lacking.
I'll say even more: there have been textures for faces for PES players since at least PES5 - and furthermore, not all players have textures for faces.
Back to a point you made, which left me completely baffled was when you said something similar to "sure, PES now has good faces, but Konami is behind FIFA because FIFA have been modelling faces for quite a while, and when they get to the point where the faces are nice, they'll have a huge face library whereas Konami will have to start from scratch".
This point is completely reversing the roles here mate.
I'll say the opposite: FIFA's faces are actually pretty decent in what concerns 3D models, but by the time they begin texturing those faces, Konami will already have a huge face library and FIFA will have a hard time getting to where Konami is at right now.
Textures have existed in 3D modelling to serve a purpose: to model details in a scalable way. They are not a flaw, they are an enhancement.
You should have some fair play, and accept that PES's faces are technologically more advanced than FIFA's ones - and that's nothing to be ashamed of, nor is it a reason to try and spin things the other way around.
Now, influencing the minds of young people and try to convince them that FIFA's faces are 3D models and PES's faces are just something with a texture is an utter lie.
For your information, there have been PES editing tools - even for PES2008 - that allowyou to edit the 3D models of PES's faces. Here's one from Veron:

No hard feelings mate, honest. Furthermore, if you could mention this on the podcast so that there are no wrong ideas floating around in people's minds, it'd be greatly appreciated, both for the users and also for the credibility that you have gotten us all used to
This is not a discussion over whether or not PES's faces look better or worse than FIFA's ones. It's about setting the record straight from a technical standpoint.
Best regards, and keep up the great work.

Hi all.
I was listening to WENB's podcast a while ago, and I now know where airjoca got his "FIFA's faces are 3D" statement
I posted a reply to Suff, just in case you want to read it:
Best regards,
Paulo Tavares
youll probably be banned now from wenb Paulo
I agree with you about not delaying it and also about the need of ultra smooth gameplay.I can't see them delaying it, unless some major flaw has turned up or unless they delay by a couple of months, there would be little they could do or change otherwise, If I were SB I'd be very worried knowing you are essentially putting out a cleaned up version of your poorest effort. They better have got it playing ultra smooth at least...
It has to have no slow down or jerky play back at all, I think this is the minimum requirement. There is virtually nothing new from 2008 bar a few animation additions and minor tweaks so they have to get this right. i fear the game play will be all but the same as 2008...I agree with you about not delaying it and also about the need of ultra smooth gameplay.
I think the delay rumour is not true, also because of the reason you gave.
The point is: What is ultra smooth in your eyes? For me it means the gameplay must at least be like PES 5, plus a bit tweaked. That must be possible.
But that is not a bad thing, don't you think? The gameplay from 2008 was not in balance, defending/attacking-wise. PES 5 was far more in balance.i fear the game play will be all but the same as 2008...

I'll be honest my PS3 version was unplayable I held out for a few weeks hoping a patch would solve the problem but I never got better than a jerky mess on screen, so I can't really comment on the game play balance or AI. Pes 5 and even more so the WE titles were a better game from other PES fans comments and I must admit, having now played 08 and adjusted to it, 2008 is far too fast, I know they have addressed this for 2009, how much though I'll wait to see.But that is not a bad thing, don't you think? I know the PS3 can be patched but can you do stuff like nets and stadiums???

if PES gloves were like this patched by default, there wouldn't be any problem, but they're just f****** BLANK!
there is some move it PES2008 get me mad and its not fair at all,, when you play with any human mate and he do the fake shoot move ( [] + X or O ) my CBs or any player near him will fall or do a foul automaticly its so bad coz you cant controle that so will it be in PES2009 also or konami fix that bug ?
