That is ludicrous IMO, if you're going to get that pedantic then ban all editing/patching stuff as well, surely changing licensed code is illegal?

The game is DVD5, how many more fucking times does this need to be stated before it starts to permeate the skulls of those asking?

there's always gotta be a ballbag about with a response like that. ive read in so many different places that its dvd-5 then someone says its dvd-9 as sure as grass is green. sorry for asking confirmation classicD, wonder if that d stands for what it think it does;). is it ur time of the month son, relax and don't be such an ass with ur response. capiche

Before you asked that, there are 2 occasions in this thread alone when it's confirmed as being DVD5, one from someone who clearly has the game already. Forgive me for being pissed off at the question being asked when it's already been answered twice, but there you go.

well ive read in places that we're not allowed to talk about, some saying dvd-5 some 9. which is why i had to ask again for a definite answer

I've read in these places too, and not one person who has the game has said it's DVD9 - to do so would be retarded as the information file which accompanies the game clearly states it's not. What they have said is the game was supposed to be on DVD9, that it was mentioned in magazine and website previews, not that *it is*.

I apologise anyway, so don't take it personally (I edited my post because it sounded too personal to you, but you quoted me before I managed to edit it).

must be reading different places, cause one guy said that it was ripped down to dvd-5, but retail was dvd-9. only time will tell i suppose. lets hope its dvd-5

i believe that the actual dvd leaked was DVD9 but it has been ripped to DVD5 now when i say ripped i don't mean they ripped content of the DVD9 only blank 0 and 1s i hope that makes sense

I'm gonna buy this game when it comes out as I genuinely feel that Rockstar has produced something thats worth investing 30 squids on (unlike most other games on the market). I do admit that I do sound a bit hypocritical, but I honestly want R* to keep my cash and go on producin' some more hot shit.

Game is fantastic btw..... ;) :twisted:

Game aint fantastic is AMAZING! Once you get into the game it's really stunning. Best game I've ever played by far... even better than PES4.

Well I'm gonna throw a spanner in the works; I dont like it.
Agreed the gameplay is great and the extra stuff is impressive but stylistically I cant stand the thing. I hate anything hip-hop/rap related so everytime I see a "Whad up nigga" or a "Yo biatch" I just cringe, It makes me sick that shit. And the game is ALL about that. I loved GTA 3 and Vice city because I loved the Vercetti character and the variety of style in it and also because I loved Scarface and Goodfellas, this game just isnt the same, the vibe is completely different. Its totally rap dominated so for someone like me thats a fatal thing.
But I'm sure all the Blairite white middle-class gansta wannabes who wear baseball slightly askew, drive around their Mums Renault Clio and blast out cheap and tawdry (c)rap music will love it.

Not only rap, but flick on Radio-X for Faith No More, Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, L7, The Cult, Stone Roses!!!!!

Only thing I'm dissapointed in is the car models all look a bit blocky and not actually worth jacking! At least Vice and the original had some decent cars in it ... anyone found any decent ones?

Nah, Its totally stupid listening to "All my ex's lives in Texas" when your in a low rider with a load of "Homies" doing a drive by. It doesnt work. Or that mission where you have to bounce the wheels in time to a hip-hop tune. Fuck that.
You have to be into rap or at least have a tolerance for it to enjoy this game. I realise I'm in the minority here because I have such a huge resistance to it. Rockstar have bought into the cultural malaise that is rap-culture and thats it. they have made a great game and definitely pushed the boundaries but the game is so heavily dependent on stylistics that if youre not into it then its just cringeworthy playing it. For me it is anyway.

I don't think that they have tried to expliot the popularity of rap music to much cus Vice City is full of 80's cheese and thats not exactly the most popular form of music... But I haven't played it so I could well get sick of hearing about "homies" after 100 or so hours!

I can understand where cal-neva is coming from. GTA games almost require you to slip into the world you are playing, so in this case a 90's gang lifestyle. If that is something you totally hate then you aren't going to enjoy the game, it is as simple as that. You can appreciate how good the game is but not necessarily enjoy it. Vice City had the problem too with regards to the era it was set in, I know that bugged some people enough that they couldn't play it.

I'm not sure how I will react next friday when I play the game, I'm sure I will love it, I just might have to find the right radio station :)

i haven't played the game yet, but i fear i'll have quite the same problem as cal. all this hip-hop gangsta bs is getting on my nerves enough already. to me this sounds like the game is aimed at younger players.

I love the game, but i prefer the role of being a Mafia-dude like in GTA 3. Being someone from the ghetto kinda bores me, theyve tried to adapt this theme to attract all those goddamn wiggers.

The same story virtually applies though , just a different scenario , later on all the wigga sh1t will probably die down when you nwa style the police . then you will be hanging with the high rollers

haha I just jumped into a plane and flew over one of the other cities. Soon as I did 4 stars appeared and I was promptly shot down by a fighter jet! :lol:

I also went further then I was allowed to, and I managed to reduce the 4 stars to 3 stars, so with a little bit trying I should be able to get rid of all the stars :P
