Where'd you find a plane??

The airport of course! I couldn't find a way in at first so just parked my car beside the wall and used it to help me get over. I could have sworn that I was getting shot at when I was running over to the plane. It was just a little plane mind, looked like a Cessna. Cool though!

Mount Chilliad is huuuuge by the way. I didn't realise there was a parachute neat the top at first, you can't beat flying off the edge on a motorbike with a parachute on your back :D

Re: Official GTA: San Andreas Thread - DVD5 Format

ok how did you get to mount chiliad?
Also has anyone done that mission where you have to race in that race that carls sisters boyfriend takes him to? I cant get past it.

Re: Official GTA: San Andreas Thread - DVD5 Format

Anyone tried 2 player mode?, desperate to know what its about ie. do you get the freedom of the whole map. is it death match, free roam?

Re: Official GTA: San Andreas Thread - DVD5 Format

like i said Razer, i haven't seen a 2 player mode only in a game of pool.

cal-neva. i've done most of the missions on the 1st state, the 2nd one opens up soon enough.

Re: Official GTA: San Andreas Thread - DVD5 Format

I saw a great police case yesterday, i was on the freeway and this car pissed past me quickly followed by 2 copper cars and a bike so i followed them to see what happened and it ended in a tunnel with a 5 car/bike pile up and one of the cars exploded and the others then caught fire so the fire brigade came to put the fire out.

Then later on I was just walking down the street and heard a big explosion so turned round and there was something on fire in the middle of the road and it was a plane...so it had either been shot down or just crashed.

I love these little touches :-)

All these anti-Hip-Hop/Rap music pensioners on this thread, moaning about GTA's style etc.
Grow up already, did you seriously think Vice City was enjoyed by everyone ?
I also respect Rockstar for not being afraid to dig into a culture which has been mostly overlooked and neglected by the white-collar population.
I'm really going to enjoy ''riddin wit my homiez'' 8) . It looks to be the best installement of the series and most controversial, which is lovely.

If you don't like it, go back to playing Vice City, simple as.

I love the game, but i prefer the role of being a Mafia-dude like in GTA 3. Being someone from the ghetto kinda bores me, theyve tried to adapt this theme to attract all those goddamn wiggers.
I disagree. To me, the GTA series (especially VC) were made out to be parodies of the genres they mimic and I reckon the latest incarnation is continuing to do the same with the LA "gangsta" scene and should really be taken light heartedly.

You have to give it to Rockstar for trying other things rather than taking the easy route with cliché Mafia stories. I'll really like them to do London again (not like that awful GTA:London) but this time with real life gangs (like the Yardies or the dodgy east end a la Lock Stock).

I agree, personally I detest rap and the way that the culture has permeated into society and games *spit*Fight Night*spit* but I can't wait to play GTA:SA, for one it will be interesting to play a game with such a setting, movies such as New Jack City, Boyz N The Hood I really enjoyed, plus it'll be nice to play a game as a black lead character, finally a company realises that not all gamers are white, think the last black lead character in a game I played was Darcy Stern? :)

Re: Official GTA: San Andreas Thread - DVD5 Format

haha i have just lost all my money on the horses in the bookies :)

Hurrah for this post! Seriously.

I don't think I have ever played a game where the lead character was black. Who was Darcy Stern?

Re: Official GTA: San Andreas Thread - DVD5 Format

i hate hip hop,but i guess it just works brilliant in this game...if the astmosphere zooms me in,i won't be bothering if i play da ghetto man or a cool mafia guy.it just needs to be good!

Re: Official GTA: San Andreas Thread - DVD5 Format

Lead character from the game "Urban Chaos", really good game :)

It was a beat-em-up/drive around as a cop game, you played as 2 or 3 different characters :)

Re: Official GTA: San Andreas Thread - DVD5 Format

Have just been given game and watched my brothers play it for a while ,am just about to try it myself.

Graphics didnt look too great but thats on comparison with gta - vice city PC. I think the people moaning about the theme are off their heads, taking it a bit too seriously, at the end of the day its good to play the game in diffrent enviroments i enjoyed vice city with the cheesy 80s tracks and could get right into it, the story for this one sounds better and im not a fan of hip/hop but its just a game and supposedly a great one at that.

Re: Official GTA: San Andreas Thread - DVD5 Format

The countryside is shit. Takes too long to get everywhere.. huge downer for me. Gets so boring I evenually turn the game off. I'm now regretting finishing Los Santos :(

Its shit, tried it with my brother. ALl you can do is free roam, but both players need to be in the same screen. The choices are Carl or his girlfriend.

Re: Official GTA: San Andreas Thread - DVD5 Format

Just finished the first mission , I dont think ill be as hooked on this as the other 2, i find the controls a bit too sensitive.

Graphics feel like I was going back to a psone. I Think ill be waitin on the pc version ill enjoy it more.

Re: Official GTA: San Andreas Thread - DVD5 Format

Argh, IGN and GameSpot haven't updated their sites with reviews overnight like I had expected. Unless they're going to pull one over the weekend - we'll likely get the first professional review by Monday.

So, overall, is it as good as VC and GTA3?

Havent played it enough to say but im gonna have to wait till the pc version to compare as thats what i played the last ones on. I dont doubt it will be just as good I just cant get used to the camera angles or the super sensitive analouge controls and I cant seem to change it!
