Next Gen Consoles

Sounds good, but how realistically good will it be in practice? I.e. say you are on holiday abroad and they have good internet. You'll still be limited to whatever game you left in your drive at home.

Not poo-poo'ing it, I'm just bored of 'great features' that get touted and barely come to fruition in practice - like the PS3/Vita hook up - or the remote play on WiiU.

thats an incredible feature indeed, hope it works properly.

First the WiiU and now the PS4 has this remote play feature. I'm very hopeful one of them really get it figured out. Very cool.

Hard to see wanting to play shooter type games on a small screen, but for simulator, arcade, or sports (career mode on the go) games this looks awesome.

I'm guessing anything you have digitally on your system could work too?

I noticed it says you need a large upload speed. I imagine your ISP, (in my case virgin media) would throttle your connection in the evenings so it might not work so well

You read that headline right. We're very excited to introduce the Amazon Playstation Network Store, an alternate venue to purchase digital Playstation content for Playstation 3, Playstation 4, and Playstation Vita.

The downside of going all digital for the next-gen consoles was going to be restricting yourself to only one storefront for potential deals, but now that's not an issue. Sony already leaves its competitors in the dust when it comes to sales, especially with its Playstation Plus program, and adding Amazon's deal muscle to the mix increases the potential savings exponentially.

To celebrate the launch of the store, Amazon will be offering $5 PSN credit back on select digital purchases, and even better, customers who participate in the limited time buy two get one free promotion starting at noon ET today (Tuesday) will also get a bonus $5 PSN credit.

That article itself explains what % usage of a console actually means. The consoles are running at full steam to play these games, but the games themselves are so inefficiently coded - certainly compared to what they'll be running in 5, 6, 7 years.

That Amazon marketplace is fantastic news. Hopefully we'll see exactly what I'd mentioned a while back - digital prices coming down, rather than staying at/above disc RRP just to avoid upsetting games retailers.

Re the Amazon marketplace, given its region free can we just log onto the US Amazon and download?

You can use a fake US address to buy on amazon, i buy PSN cards from Brazil many times that way with no problem, they send you the code by e-mail.
