I saw Van Helsing 2 days ago (I know i'm about a month late) and thought it was dire. It fell into every Hollywood blockbuster stereotype available.

SPOILERS- Proceed at your own risk......

Kate Beckinsale wouldn't fucking die! She got thrown around about 100 times, banging her head on concrete yet managed to get up and perform a backflip almost every time. I laughed when she died, and laughed even more at the corny ending and the fact that she didn't come back to life (I was seriously expecting that to happen, which is......sad). Also, spot the bit where Hugh Jackman reminds everyone that he was the person who played Wolverine  You'll know what I mean if you've seen it.
It was just over the top nonsense, the script was awful as well. The special effects were alright, just a shame that a 7 year old wrote it.

Hutch i thought van helsing was shit. Kate was very attractive imo.

The fucking accents pissed me off and the storyline itself pissed me off. I dont understand how the carriage caught fire when the wolfman rolled on it!?

Not just that, but they seemed really un-concerned by the fact that they were plodding along with the roof of the carriage in flames.
Stupid film.

Went to see Clint Eastwoods new flick "Mystic River" on Sunday night. This movie is absolutely BRILLIANT. SEAN PENN WILL GET BEST ACTOR. Tim Robbins and Kevin Bacon will split Best Supporting Actor in half and Clint Eastwood will get Best Director. The acting was unbelievable. I don't know when it's out in Europe but you all have to see it. Lawrence Fishburn from the matrix is in it too, and Laura Linney. Great Film. top 10 material.
Spoiler on this film below:

-----------------------------------

Finally saw this tonight, didn't think it was anywhere near as good as it has been made out to be. I thought the eventual killer(s) and the reason for the murder was very weak, and led to a total anti-climax (before Jimmy kills Dave, it was a really good film).

I'd give it 7/10. Anyone else seen it, apart from Gunner who's unlikely to reply?

Agreed ClassicD. Perfectly watchable stuff but didnt quite hit the right spot for me. OK, so it was never supposed to be a Poirot murder mystery but a film in which the murderer is only fleetingly on display as a sub character risks ending with anti climax - and that's exactly what happened.

Just saw The day After Tomorrow.

Not bad at all. The storyline is all real according to the science department of europe. But the movie itself was quite cheesy.

Tomorrow im off to see Coffee and Cigarettes. Antonio Begnini is in, so is Iggy Pop and many others.

milanista my friend, i hope your kidding about "The storyline is all real according to the science department of europe"

Pretty much everything in the movie is fake, and none of those events could ever happen so rapidly or that quick or at all, especially the ice freezing you in an instant, google the movie and you will find lots of articles refuting the ridiculous storyline....

saw footy factory and the butterfly effect yesterday.

FF was excellent, a kind of dark comedy. top acting and i loved all the characters in it.

TBE reminded me of Donnie Darko, very dark and obviously about time travel, well recommend it, although i felt the ending was a bit lame.

i saw 21 grams the other day. i went there not knowing nothing about the film and from the title i expected drugs and violence so i thought great. when the film started i noticed a lack of both drugs and violence so i was pissed off. very boring film i thought. 6/10

I watched 28 days later last night and thought it was good. I've watched 3 Zombie movies in the last month or so- The 2 Dawn of the Deads and Shaun of the Dead.

Dont forget Battle Royal that Japanese film ;)

That's not a Zombie movie you nugget.

I've got more of a rant from Van Helsing..
Where the fuck did Frankenstein think he was going at the end? He was stood on a plank of wood and was just drifting out until the middle of the ocean!

I saw the new Jet Li film 'Hero' tonight, absolutely stunning, just think Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, but with more fights and you'll be about there!!

It revolves around a Nameless Warrior (Jet Li) who has killed loads of Assassins across China and goes to the King to reap his rewards...........it doesn't quite run as simple as that tho!!

It has to be one of the most beautiful films I've ever seen (I ain't including Porn in that!! ;) ) ................Check it out...................

Just saw Troy and it was fecking awful. I bloody hated it. The acting in it was way below par. Brad Pitt just doesn't fit that role IMO. Orlando Bloom was average too. I'm so pissed off cos I wanted it to be great and I feel let down. It was WAY too long.. me and my mate were just cracking up near the end because it was so unrealistic and shite. Jesus. We actually considered walking out at one part but thought we'd wait until the end.. and that was shite too. It took about 10 arrows to kill him.
suprised by your opinion! its weird how people have different opinions of films like, i thought it was great and you hated it he he

i thought it was average, nothing special

i hate it when they release the film on dvd (which have bought) then bring out a better version of it soon after. happened to me with the LOTR films aswell. money grabbing bastards should bring out the best versions first as last
thanks for the info proevo :)

Also you see Sofie get her other arm cut off when she's in the boot of the car

Can anyone comment on Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind.

I thought it was good personally. Its quite a sad movie actually.

The story itself is quite good and needs some thinking to understand. This movie is NOT a comedy, but there are glimpses of Jim Carrey's humor.

I suggest you watch this if youre into movies that require some thinking.

I watched Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back the other night. Funny film, pretty clever too with the whole Ben Affleck thing going on.
Was this a follow up to an original film?

Its a kevin smith film but i dont think its a follow-up, they just seem to have links to other films.

Ah, ok. Yeah you could tell it was linked to something. The whole Dogma reference was pretty funny too. Oh, and "Good Will Hunting 2: Hunting Season"

i see there are some jet li fans here and i havent read all 35 pages but some of his best work is in "the legend of fong sai yuk" or its english name "the legend". especially the sequal to the film

Just watched Micheal Moore's Farenheit 9/11... very powerful movie.

Makes you wonder how corrupt the American government really is, and how this war in Iraq is all a load of shit. Although this movie is quite biased.
