Yep, I went to see Dawn of the Dead on Saturday. Very good, better than I thought it'd be. I'm going to see Shaun of the Dead tomorrow. Apparently "a romantic comedy with zombies" :D. It's not meant to be an a spoof on Dawn actually, just co-incidence that they came out at the same time. Anyway, I'll tell you all what its like tomorrow.

I've seen Dawn and loved it the original is on bbc2 this week i think.I wanna watch Shaun o t d Hutch keep us posted.

Buggar. Shaun of the Dead 'aint out till Friday. I really should have checked teletext before I said I was going to go and see it. :(

Went to see Shaun of the Dead today. Very good. Good mix of comedy and horror, but not scary. I haven't really seen a film like it before. Go and see it though, it's good.

I am going to see it tomorrow hutch but no coz you told me to

Just saw Dawn of the Dead today, great movie! Quite similar to 28 Days Later, I think. Not a very good but expected ending, in my opinion.

I've also been reading this. Seems like the guy based his story on the original Dawn of the Dead movie since a lot of things are very similar.

Kill Bill volume two is out at the end of the month, i think. thats the only film ive been waiting for this year. cant wait.

There was a trailer on for it before Shaun of the Dead, I loved part 1 even tho it did take me a while to watch it, part 2 should be great.

Onto Shaun of the Dead and my brief review......Funniest film I can remember seeing this year, Simon Pegg is my new hero

saw scary movie 3 the other day. excellent, very funny. i'm glad they moved away from just aking the piss out of 'horror' flicks, i loved the links to 8 mile and the sign.

also saw starsky and hutch, which i wasnt really that bothered about but it was totally funny. very good how they took off the s&h theme - and it did look very much like the series, but was obviously more of a spoof of that. and yes snoop was excellent.

and now onto dawn of the dead. . . . i very much liked the original with its piss take on consumerism and was looking forward to this, and . . . . it delivered.

not much like the original but was full of tension and action. loved it.

is the fella starsky dance with (dancing rick, i think) played by Har Mar Superstar in the film, i forgot to check the credits, and what is the name of the bad guys wife, she's been in Kalifornia and Natural Born Killers, amongst others.

Couldn't agree more...........Shaun Of The Dead is GENIUS, anyone who liked SPACED will love this!! ;)

A true based story of Aileen Wournos, the american killer.

I watched Bella Loves Jenna the other night!!! Great story Line too, well keeps you on the edge of your seat I can tell you!!! :D

A+ for this one

Kill Bill Volume 1 out on dvd this monday then Volume 2 in cinemas on Friday :D

Can't wait! , It was probably my favourite film of last year, I've been on HMV's website and other sites like it regarding the DVD. It seems that its only being released with the one disc priced around £13.99, this is quite dissapointing as I thought they would have had a second DVD full of extras. Ah well, the film is great anyways!

I wouldn't dare to hazard a guess as to how many times i will watch if from Monday in the next week  lol

i think theyre keeping all of the Extras for the 2 film box set mate

have you heard about him doing Kill Bill 3 in about Ten years? i think hes already shot some of the footage now with Fox's daughter

Is Kill Bill Vol.2 out stateside today??

If so it'll probley be available tomorrow...

Anyway I've only read one review and its got me drooling :

Maybe it's because Vol. 1 was so violent and blood-soaked that I was well prepared for guts and gore galore in Vol. 2. Or maybe it's because Vol. 2 is more character-driven, letting us see the human side of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad. Whatever the reasons, as uncomfortable as I was watching Vol. 1, I was entirely engrossed in Vol. 2. I applaud Quentin Tarantino for his quirky posse, from Viper Squad instructor Pei Mei to one of Bill's mentors Esteban Vieho. They're on-the-edge dwellers and ultimately, provide the comic relief in between killing sprees.

The action sequences are also top-notch. Remember Uma Thurman, a.k.a. Black Mamba, a.k.a. The Bride, whipping serious Crazy 88 ass in Vol. 1? Well, she's back and badder than ever. And now we know why after witnessing her tortuous training sessions. The film opens with the "wedding rehearsal massacre" that was briefly shown in Vol. 1. This time, however, we see the horrific homicides, and then travel with Thurman as she continues to take out the names on her Death List. With O-Ren Ishii (Lucy Liu) and Vernita Green (Vivica A. Fox) down, she heads for Bill's little brother Budd (Michael Madsen) where she encounters Elle Driver (Daryl Hannah) to boot. Finally, Thurman finds Bill (David Carradine) and comes face to face with the biggest surprise of her life.

Though we know killing is wrong, Thurman makes it look thrilling and spectacular. She squirms out of fatal situations and survives the most deadly weapons, enemies and predicaments. With RZA helping to score the soundtrack once again, Yuen Wo-Ping (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) choreographing and Robert Richardson (Casino, Natural Born Killers) picking the scenery, this flick is first-rate in every way. Welcome to the ultimate fight club.

The guy gave ut 4.5 / 5 which is very good, no that I'd give a shit if he gave it 1 - 5 I loved the first one...

It makes sense to release all the extras when he does the box set.

Tarrentino did say that every ten years something will happen to make "The Bride" pick up her sword

Also his next film will be Inglorious Bastards a WW2 Dirty Dozen type film, apparently he's got all the faves back from previous films.

The Vega Brothers project is still in the pipeline, it will pre date both Pulp Fiction and Res Dogs (obviously) he wasnt gonna do it cos with the two actors getting on a bit it was gonna be hard to do a prequel but he says he figured out how to pull it off but didnt let any hints as to what he meant....

Either way if it sees the light of day and has both Madsen and Travolta it'll be

I ignored your post Vann because I hate reading reviews before going to see a film, it ends up making me view them differently or something ;).

The DVD of KBv1 has one real extra on it, a 'Making Of', the only other extra is a selection of trailers from Tarantino's other (older) movies. I'm not buying this one, because there is a complete set with loads of extras coming out eventually.

What I'm gonna do is buy it on Monday then if they bring out a special edition I will trade the normal version into somewhere like Game for credit towards the special edition one.hehe.

Bloody evil marketing making us wait for the special edition knowing fine well that people will end up buying the standard one then the special one! pff lol

The lowest price I could find it was DVDplus for £12.87 + Free P&P
Heres the link if anyone intrested
http://www.shopcreator.com/mall/dvdplus/main.cfm

In DVD Review mag they only gave the Disk 3 stars out off 5 because of the lack of extras, but they did give the Picture 5 stars & value 2 stars along with the Extras 2 stars.
The twin box set will be a Christmas thing I think so you may aswell buy a copy now & not to bother waiting.

Fingers crossed my copy should turn up Tomorrow ;)

There will be a release with both movies spliced together as one, and I don't mean simply vol.2 added onto the end of vol.1 and stuck on a DVD, it'll be recut apparently, with a ton of extras on the disc(s). The sound and picture quality are fantastic I can vouch for that, but I'll wait for a proper release before I part with cash, not buying it twice.

You should check out this review of the DVD, a good site as well.

kill bill should come on monday cant wait :D also yes scary movie 3 is a great film best out of the three. the bit about the hood from 8 mile nearly made me fall of my cinema chair.
