Yeah, that's my point. I'd rather pay $8 to watch the 3 1/2 hours than pay $8 to watch 2 hours and another $8 to watch the rest. Makes sense right? Imagine if you went to buy PES3 and they only gave you half a fucking disc and said we'll give you the other half when you pay for it again????????

Ha-ha!!! :D No it's not that. It's just that it was supposed to be one movie, I'd gladly spend $20 to go and see it if they had kept it that way, but no, they had to split it up so they could put more steak in their bellies. Know what I mean,?

oh have u lot heard about the new dvds there testing out?

Instead of renting u buy em for say 4 quid and when the dvd is removed out of its packaging it starts to change colour from red to black and once its black ur player can no longer read the disk.

You can get 48 hours disks, 72 ect
So they may even start selling em at ur local shop :)

What do u think?

Good idea, but i'll only believe it when my local video store has them. Cant see wat anyone would gain from it tho

But sometimes when i take a dvd back i get another one. Surely the rental people would therefore loose money????

lol, well i wouldn't but thats me. What do you think and where are your coats? Keira would be ashamed of you

Well i'm going to go watch Killbill on Friday Night at my local UCI & i'm booking Galley Seats tomorrow about 8 of us going should be a good night few beers after aswell.
GG hows this sould I'll be paying £10 to watch Part 1 of Killbill  But you get PopCorn, SoftDrink & Nachos with Dips & Eat all you can Eat so by the end of the Film I'll be Fatter than Zico

I am not going to go see Kill Bill no matter how good people say it is. Kill Bill was supposed to be one film but at the last minute they split it into two "volumes" and stretched it out so they could potentially double the millions they will make it. Clearly, It's not about the movie for them, it's all about the bling bling. Fuck that I say.

You live and work in a capitalist society, this is the price you pay. But Kill Bill's worth it :D

Besides, Tarantino gave a fucking brilliant justification for it. He said that it couldn't be 3 hours because it's a B-movie. And he's damn right. You don't sit through 3 and a half hours of action. It just feels wrong. Nevermind what you pay for or consumer rights or that shit. It's not a product, it's art, you don't get to control your consumption of it. Be glad that he filmed enough material that he's going to deign to give us a swanky double DVD in a year or so's time. He is our god. We must give him money.

Cos the film is excellent. It's better having another part of it to look forward to, what other films are out there? Clint Eastwood? Pfft. I'd rather take another Tarantino film any day than any of the crap that fills the screens.

Forgive me for going all 'green' here, but I think it's a terrible idea. What it basically boils down to is hundreds of thousands of utterly useless pieces of plastic getting thrown away every week. I'm no bleeding heart, but even I can see it's going to be less than ideal for the environment.

BTW, I CBA to read back over all the pages here, but have any of you had the pleasure of watching Amelie yet? If not I thoroughly recommend it. It may be french, but Audrey Tatou is a total minx, and it's the best feel-good film ever (or certainly up there with It's a Wonderful Life). If you see a very green dvd box next time you're out browsing, have a look. I'll leave you with the lovely lady herself...

Saw Kill Bill last night, absolutely brilliant.

the fighting scenes are great, and start off the film straight away and the ending just makes you want more, more, more. cant wait for the second film.

the matrix trailer is also on the beginning of the film and looks fantastic and there are even more Agent Smiths.

Saw it on its first release after all the hype from its French success, got the DVD, got the soundtrack, got the book which is just amazing :D

And don't say 'It may be french' - are you saying that American/British movies are some bastion of quality? Most of the best American directors get their influences directly from French directors like Truffaut, Godard and Malle. French (and any other foreign) films can be much better than even the best of Hollywood.

Look out for Delicatessen by the same director. One of the weirdest you'll ever see, but a brilliant satire based in a post-apocalyptic cannibalistic future.

I've seen most of delicatessen.

All I meant by 'It may be French' is that I dare say a lot of people who would pick it up and see it's in french language wouldn't give it a second look. I for one am much more a fan of European and Japanese cinema than 99% of the American drivel that's plonks on our shores :) Luc Besson is a personal favourite of mine (even if it is going mainstream more), and those who've only seen the American remake of The Ring are missing out. Ever seen Tetsuo: Ironman or Tetsuo: Bodyhammer? those are some freaky films but fantastically done. I don't think I need to say anything about Battle Royale.

Apologies in retrospect :)

Tetsuo:Ironman is one of a looong list of things I want to see if I get some money.

Completely agree on The Ring, original is brilliant. Followup was even frighteningier IMHO, The Eye I think it was called. Like The Sixth Sense but way creepier and with lots of sound effect jolts that made me want to hide behind my seat.

The follow-up to the Ring was Ring 2 iirc, which wasn't nearly as good for my money. The Eye is a different film if I'm correct, but very creepy all the same.

I wish we could talk a bit more about child porn

edit: of course not in an erotic way, more educative.

btw. if this is a yelloow? don't you guys thing they should've deleted my first yellow. It's been months now. I really can't stand the pressure anymore.

admins. delete the yellow pleaz

Ring, ring 2, ring 0 birthday i think was the order

And the Eye is a different film all together and is much better than any of the rings

I meant follow up because it was the film by the same filmmakers that was released in my local after Ring :) I wasn't aware of the Ring trilogy, are they any good the others?

Has anyone here seen Road to Perdition? I think its a classic film, with a brilliant story, and i like the ending. I've seen it many times in the last few weeks, and it still makes my mind work.

Yeah, I really liked it even tho I'm usually a Hanks-hata. This ties into what I've been saying over in the books thread - film can be amazing for story-telling. It comes from a graphic novel which I haven't read, and probly won't because I'm not into realist comic work. I love my fantasy :D
