I was a huge fan of the whole Bushito shows in Pride, of which Gomi was the time period of Gomi's reign. Definitely not the same fighter he was, but let's not take away from Florian. He had a perfect game plan and a snapping jab that consistently frustrated Gomi. Yes it was disappointing as I would have liked to have seen the vintage Gomi who would have been a match for Penn. Now it is looking more like a huge chasm after Penn at 155lb, and then another one after Florian.

@Tim7 I want to quote you "And I really hope Stefan Struve knocks Fat Cunt Nelson out." HAHA! How did that turn out. That was the funniest looking weigh in I'd ever seen.

Ross Pearson looked good, and Quarry looks done. Not the best free show, as there was only 1 fight in the 1st 50 minutes of a 2hour show. But it was free.

Big Country needs a step up now as he is starting to prove he is a very good heavyweight

I think it will be Congo first then they will give Mir another go then its onto the top contenders Dos Santos and Velasquez

Beating a couple of either Congo, Mir, Cro Cop, Nogueira would put him around there

We already knew he was good on the ground but now he has shown he has KO power so whatever the fight is next it should be interesting
 
Main Event was a disgrace. Anderson Silva should be ashamed of himself. One of the worst fights I have ever seen in any combat sport. As a main event it was shocking!!

Damn that may be worse than Hopkins vs Jones

What the fuck was Silva playing at?

He wanted Maia to stand and fight yet he didn't fight himself, that was one of the weirdest fights i have ever seen
 
all the talk from rogan etc, the production team zooming into GSP before and during the fight. all the hype for GSP V ANDERSON if he won this fight

GSP was surely going to walk into the octagon after the fight and face off to Anderson?

but maybe Dana pulled the plug on it as he doesn't like the antics Anderson did

apparently there was a recent news article about Dana saying Anderson doesn't deserve GSP

something like that

how could the fight between GSP and SILVA be hyped after that shit..

shame on you Silva he could of finished that fight anytime he wanted and make it exciting for the fans for the GSP fight

The only chance they have is if Anderson Silva has built up so much Heel heat that fans wanna see GSP kill him.

Still trying to work out what happened to him. It seemed like he didn't want to engage at all in the 4th & 5th, but was flying for the opening rounds.
I know Joe Rogan said he thought he tired, maybe due to the humidity & fighting outside for the 1st time...but I wonder if it had anything to do with Dana having a word with his manager after the second round (maybe having a go at him for showboating & disrespecting Maia?). Maybe he couldn't handle the criticsm as it doesn't happen often and bottled it?

There's a clip from the post fight press conference where Dana is seriously pissed off about it, and vows to try and make amends. He rightly points out though that nothing should be taken away from the other fighters as there were some very good fights. Fair play to him.

So on that note, (this is now about the other title fight)
Well done to Frankie Edgar. I doubt many people had him down to win. It didn't seem that BJ was his normal self though - maybe that strapped up knee was hindering him?
 
Dana stormed out of the arena after the 3rd round, stopping at Silva's manager on the way out and handing him the belt to put on Silva after the fight.
 
Damn! Any footage of all this?!? now I really wanna see what the hell Anderson Silva did. Cuz everyone seems so pissed about it and Dana especially.
