Dana White Speaks On Brock Lesnar’s Health
Posted by Larry Csonka on 11.14.2009

"I am worried about it…" – Dana White

- Dana White spoke about Brock Lesnar's health status at the UFC 105 post event press conference; here are some highlights…

On Brock's Current Health: "He is not good," White said. "He is very, very sick, and he's going to be out for a while. He doesn't want to talk about it publicly, but he's in bad shape. He's not well. He's not going to be getting well anytime soon. I am worried about it," White said. "I can't really talk about it right now, but [Lesnar] is in rough shape. He's in really bad shape. I'm actually probably going to fly to go see him, and we're going to probably have to do some stuff to take care of this guy. He is not well, and he's not getting any better."

On What Dana Plans To Do To Help: "I don't know. I've got to get him to one of these really good hospitals with really good doctors to figure out what's wrong and how we get him better. [Lesnar] is in bad shape, and the reality is they don't really know all that's wrong with him."

On His Collapse In Canada: "He owns a bunch of property in Canada. He went up to Canada just to get away from his house, to go up there and just kind of chill out up there. "He [expletive] dropped. He went down, and he had to go to the hospital. They ran every test on the planet on him, and they ended up finding out something else was wrong with him."

On The Status Of The Title: "If it's a long wait, we're gong to have to do something," White said. "We're going to have to – the last thing I ever want to do is strip a guy who won a title. That's the last thing I want to do. I don't know if we'll have to do an interim or what we'll do to fix it."

Interesting stuff. What happened to him? Must be the crappy weather up here that's got him sick! :P

Denis Kang was f'n GASSED after 1 round!! So disappointing! Used to be a top fighter! Now his conditioning is good enough for one round?!? He had no energy left in the tank! By 2nd round, he could barely move, he was so tired, his punches were slow as shit and at that point of course, you just knew it's a matter of time before he gets beat, so of course you Brits got your result as Bisping took great advantage and battled to a very sweet victory.

He gassed himself out in the first round on top trying to get a better position, but Bispings BJJ was brilliant and he just blocked all his transitions. Kang got nowhere and did no damage, not a good combination.

Good vids, Coopz :TU:

The Bisping atmosphere was electric on the ESPN feed, I can only imagine how it must've felt at the arena itself.

The times during the fight when Bisping got control and the stadium erupted ... Gave me goosebumps! I literally jumped out of my chair when Bisping won  I'm sure that was down to the atmosphere pumping it all up and it really got me :)

Yeah it is amazing live the only let down is there is no commentary and after watching it on TV that makes quite a difference

Mute the TV then watch it and see

Just started watching TUF S03, Ortiz is a quality coach. It's funny how they tend to have a face and a heel coach for the last two seasons in my opinion.

There is commentary mate. At every PPV they sell a little radio at the merchandise kiosk, that tunes to Rogan and Goldie. Its a tenner but you can reuse it for future PPV's. I missed commentary first time I went (UFC 89 in Brum), but got the headset for UFC 95 in London and again on Saturday. Makes a world of difference. Just a tip for future.

Update on Brock: Looks awful for him http://www.tmz.com/2009/11/16/brock-lesnar-dana-white-mayo-clinic-mono-ufc-wwe/

If he does get healthy how much bloody muscle will he have lost. That will be months/ years of gymtime (and the rest ;-) ) before he is anywhere near fitness

http://www.headkicklegend.com/2009/11/16/1159990/rumor-mill-fedor-emelianenko-vs

The latest FEG-related rumor has hit the 'net and it is a big one. The fight that stole Tom Atcencio's smile, spawned a massive lawsuit from M-1 Global and upset a lot of MMA fans might happen on more drug-friendly Japanese shores early next year. Josh Barnett after failing to pass a drug test in the state of California sent Affliction into a fatal nosedive, sending them tails tucked back into the UFC's friendly embrace.

This left the megafight, the biggest challenge for Fedor outside of the UFC out of reach. There have been rumors about it happening in Japan, whispers if anything, and now an American outlet is reporting it is a bit closer to reality than we thought.

Sources close to DREAM have informed MMA Recap (http://www.mmarecap.com) that Barnett will sign with DREAM and that Strikeforce and M-1 will indeed cross promote with FEG to deliver the epic matchup we’ve all been waiting for.

The bout between Fedor and Barnett is tentatively scheduled for February of 2010, but no official date has been confirmed.

Emelianenko and Barnett were originally supposed to fight at "Affliction: Trilogy" on August 1, 2009, but Barnett tested positive for steroids during a pre-fight drug test and the entire event was scrapped.

Ah OK cheers ill get one next time

After watching it on TV after you have seen it live you realise how big a part the commentary plays

Dana White recently spoke with Yahoo Sports! about Brock Lesnar's health issues
, here are the highlights…

On His Current Status: "The family was worried big time, they were freaking out. We don't know if he'll ever fight again."

On What They Found: "He had a hole in his intestine," White said. "The (stuff) was leaking into his stomach. That's what was causing him so much pain. That and he had abscesses. The doctor told him he hasn't been right for a year. His immune system has been trying to fight this thing and that's why he was susceptible to getting sick."

What's Next?: "We'll find out more next week," White said. "We're going to send him to the Mayo Clinic for a couple of days. I don't know what to say. It's looking better now than last week, but what that means, I don't know."

On Brock's Future: "If he's done what he's done at less than 100 percent, then imagine how he'll be if he is 100 percent."

Hope Koscheck gets smashed, he's a muppet.

Not sure what I think of Grove, he didn't come across too well on TUF. "Dagger" pissed me off, but I think he can be humble at times. Maybe it's just his youth and childishness that annoy me.

Girlfriend has ESPN in her Virgin subscription so I've told her I'll be getting up at 2am to watch UFC, she's not impressed

UFC 106 reviews:

George Sotiropoulos vs. Jason Dent
They were in different classes of fighters. I'd like to see george build off this win, and really make a good run of it. Looked great in this fight.

Caol Uno vs. Fabricio Camoes
Not Aired

Brock Larson vs. Brian Foster
Odd 1st round. To see a 10-7.

Kendall Grove vs. Jake Rosholt
Was routing for rosholt, but good win for grove.

Marcus Davis vs. Ben Saunders
Was routing for Davis, but a vicious and impressive win for Saunders. Davis's 1st time KO'd.

Amir Sadollah vs. Phil Baroni
The standard fight from Baroni...but glad to see Amir look as good as he did.

Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Luis Arthur Cane
:D :D :D :D :D :D What a performance. Little Nog was one of my favorite fighters in Pride, and glad to see him enter the UFC with such an impressive win!

Paulo Thiago vs. Jacob Volkmann
Couldn't care less about this fight. And just lost the audio feed :( Volkmann might be the worst fighter on this entire card. He seems like a gritty training partner, but not a main card UFC PPV fighter  This was a close fight because Thiago is not very good either. He was unable to capitalize superior positioning, and his ju-jitsu looked pretty sub-par

Josh Koscheck vs. Anthony Johnson
Routing for Johnson BIG TIME!!
What a dirty & choppy match with some awesome stand up in the middle. So Rumble was dominating till his illegal knee and eye poke. Then Koscheck owned him on the ground. In the 2nd rd it was amazing that Koscheck got away with 2 eyepokes and then when he took him down I swear he was sticking his fingers in that same eye. I lost sound so I don't know what Rogan was saying...but it looked very dirty. Conclusion is that Koscheck has an AWESOME ground and pound, and Rumble is pretty worthless on his back. I think on their feet they were pretty even, but Johnson had the advantage on the night in the standup.

Tito Ortiz vs. Forrest Griffin
Routing for Forrest BIG TIME!! I feel Forrest has a lot more to lose, and Tito has a lot more to gain from this fight.
The fight went about how I expected. I thought Tito with his ground and pound stole the 1st 2 rounds. And the Forrest's toughness let him dominate the 3rd round. I may have given the 3rd to Forrest as a 10-8. I thought it'd be a draw or a Tito victory. A little surprised but happy I was wrong. Good fight. If it went another 2 rounds it would have been a slaughter. That 3rd round must have been hard for Tito's family to watch  And Forrest was just getting better.

P.S. Here is an interesting read pre-fight comments by Dana White.

UFC 106

Koscheck :CURSE: Man, I really hate the guy! What was with that shit when he went down holding his eye that wasn't even touched?! Gutted Johnson lost.

Not sure what happened to Ortiz in the final round, he looked REALLY reluctant to throw any kind of punches, or go for a takedown. Griffin looked impressive throughout though and I quite like him so not too fussed he won even though I hoped Ortiz won.

Not a great card, 107 looks better with Penn v Sanchez and Florian v Guida.

UFC 106

Koscheck must have obviously had something touch his eye or poke his eye when the illegal knee was thrown, as you could see it was quite bloodshot and swollen, fair play to him for continuing. Nice wrestling displayed too. Would be good to see Hardy v Koscheck, but I guess GSP wants a fight soon...

Forest displayed intelligent defence on the ground and then total dominance in the 3rd round, happy for him to win the fight, I don't see how one judge scored it 30-27 though?

Lil Nog looked sharp, however Kane was shocking, every time he dropped his right hand Nog just punched him in the face .

Good event overall I thought :)).

Tito ortiz shouldnt be main eventing PPV's. he looked very old and offered nothing on his feet. 3rd round was a 10-8 round for me just cos ortiz did nothing at all. Not a huge fan of griffen. His a tryer but his limited.

Phil baroni sent me this and said "welcome back to the ufc" phil is tough as nails!

Tito's a penis.

They've done the medical checks, Forrest is out for up to 6 months, Cane and Davis for a while. Most fighters have some suspension, as is the norm

But Tito with his "fractured skull" remarkably hasnt got a suspension.

Forrest Griffin: Suspended Griffin until May 21, 2010, for a possible foot fracture; Minimum suspension until Dec. 22 and no contact until Dec. 13

Anthony Johnson: Suspended until Dec. 22 and no contact until Dec. 13

Paulo Thiago: Suspended until Dec. 22 and no contact until Dec. 13 for nasal bridge cut

Jacob Volkmann: Suspended until Dec. 13 and no contact until Dec. 6 for scalp and nasal bridge cuts

Luis Cane: Suspended until May 21, 2010, for right orbital fracture unless physician clears him to return sooner; No contest until Jan. 6, 2010, and no contact until Dec. 22, 2009.

Phil Baroni: Suspended until Jan. 6, 2010, and no contact until Dec. 22, 2009, for left eyebrow and scalp lacerations

Marcus Davis: Suspended until May 21, 2010, for broken nose unless physician clears him to return sooner; No contest until Jan. 6, 2010, and no contact until Dec. 22, 2009, because of multiple cuts.

Brock Larson: Suspended until May 21, 2010, for broken nose unless physician clears him to return sooner; No contest until Jan. 21, 2010, and no contact until Jan. 6, 2010.

George Sotiropoulos: Suspended until Dec. 22 and no contact until Dec. 13 for cut over left eyebrow
