Great event overall i thought and wow what a punch from Fedor you could not really see Fedor not winning but great fight and cracking first round. Brett certainly gave it a good crack and caught Fedor early leaving him busted open and bloody but then again Fedor skin is abit open like that. But Brett had Fedor in ground and pound at one point and you thought maybe it going to happen but na Fedor regains composure.

Fedor just has the swagger of invincibility about him you just knew something was coming and boooom goodnight Rogers. Dont really know who Fedor can fight now really apart from himself suppose you look to Lesnar but that just not going to happen i dont think.

Might be of interest to those going to UFC 105:

Heavyweight UFC star Cheick Kongo is to hold a meet ‘n’ greet autograph signing session in Manchester on the day that UFC 105 takes place in the city.

Kongo will be at leading supplements and equipment store BodyActive alongside Wolfslair training partner and Strikeforce fighter Zach Light for a signing session from 12.00 to 14.00 on Saturday 14th November.

This will be a perfect opportunity for UFC fans who will be in Manchester for UFC 105 to meet one of the UFCs top heavyweights in person.

The event also marks the launch of a range of new TapouT t-shirts, including the TapouT-Fighters Only Magazine collaboration, the TapouT Wolfslair shirt and the Kongo signature shirt. All three will be available for purchase on the day.

UFC fans will also be able to purchase the latest edition of Fighters Only Magazine - which features Kongo on the front cover - and then get it signed by the man himself!

BodyActive (Manchester) is right in the city centre, very close to the town hall and St. Peter’s Square Metrolink station. The full address of the store is:

Body Active
Abbey House
74 Mosley Street
Manchester
M2 3LW

See you there!

Strikeforce doesn't allow elbows to grounded opponents? It's fine in UFC though isn't it?

Yes

Theres a few subtle differences with all of the promotions. The biggest difference for the old Pride fighters, namely Wanderlei and Shogun is no kicks to the head of a grounded opponant in the USA. Wanderlei used to punt people in the face :)

Also in Quebec for a recent UFC the athletic commission wouldnt give the UFC a license unless a few moves were banned. in the end they compromised on no footstomps!

WOAH! Strikeforce is pretty decent!

Enjoyed those fights, and they seemed a LOT more technical on the ground than what I've watched in the UFC, loads of reversals and escapes which I've not seen before, very entertaining :)

That punch from Fedor was awesome, it has to be said. Whether it was Fedor also crashing into him with his body on the follow-up had a big factor in Rogers going down is debatable though, and I'm not entirely sure the ref couldn't have let it go on a little more too.

Shame as I thought Rogers did really well up to that point and I felt he looked really comfortable there.

Interesting!

Good Kobashi! Everyone needs to see these wars. In particular Big Nog vs Sapp. crazy match.

Also from strikeforce how sweet was Mousasi's leg trip on Sokodjou from the ground?

Exactly, Vondave. That legtrip was quality and is a good example of the whole show really, very technical and good to watch :)

Cracking punch from Fedor. I thought also it was a bit of a premature stoppage. Rogers wasn't knocked out he was covering up on the ground. Fedor is awesome though, never seen anyone that big punch so fast and move so fast.

Really hope there is a Fedor v Rogers rematch!

one thing I have to say.

Bravo's coverage was really poor. Poor Picture Quality and they cut all the interviews.

Wilkes vs Brown should be a good fight

Matt Brown will kill him IMO

i think Vera, Swick and Bisping will win, Also if you don't know him Terry etim is brilliant. A young scouser, likened to Anderson silva. Very gangly but real quality. got a great future. Seen him live a couple of times now, and doesnt disappoint. Hathaway is also a v good undefeated young guy. He's only like 20/21/22 years old IIRC. his opponanat Paul Taylor is notorious for FOTN awards too

Cant wait, any of you going and hitting the after parties after? Rumour GSP is in town. The Mrs will therefore insist we follow him!

Clitheroe, more Manchester really. He trains at the Wolfslair centre in Widnes (not quite classes as Liverpool but people there like to call themselves Scousers) I believe but his accent is certainly more Manc.

Still gets my support being English though :)

Understatement of the year. What a complete fucking prick.

Do they actually have fights during Season 1 or is it challenges to eliminate every week?

Don't write him off just yet ;)

They do fight, it's the same in S2 which I'm watching now. They do challenges and the winning team picks the fight for the week.

I prefer the newer model where the coaches decide.

Yep support the Brits IMO. I'm a United fan, but want the UFC Scouse lot to do well. All the brits to be fair.

that sucks. I'm going and will see them, but there's some potentially cracking fights.

Etim vs Gugerty
Taylor vs Hathaway will be good

That's pretty shit :(

Do they usually have the prelims free on the UFC site after the event? I'm sure that's been the case previously?

Yeah, after the event I think you might be able to get them on UFC.com. ESPN only shows the prelims for PPV UFC events, as UFC105 is in the UK, it is not PPV in the US.
