Tigrotti Finish Fifth
In what was an interseting run-in to the close of Division 2, AS Ganzoraccio managed to win all five of their remaining league games, catapulting them to a fifth place finish, a mere three points off third. The Lombardy outfit also had a say in the Division 2 title. The final day saw them beat League leaders Vicenza 1-0, allowing FSV Sarmtonburg to claim top spot.

Gutierrez Recieves Awards
Ganzoraccio striker, Gutierrez has recieved the 'Best player' award for Division 2, as well as the 'Capocannoniere' for th division, netting 14 goals in 31 league appearances. The Spaniard also made the Division's 'Best XI'

Minanda Accepts New Role
The fans gave a standing ovation on the final day of the season, as Minanda applauded the faithful during a final lap of honour. Having now retired, the ex-Ganzoraccio captain has accepted a new role at the club, as head scout. The experienced midfielder will now use his knowledge of the game and connections, to help the club spot and bring in new signings.

Palmieri Wants Move
Ganzoraccio teenager Palmieri has urged his club to allow him a big money move. Several European clubs are interested in the highly rated Italian defender, who now sees his future away from the Stadio Comunale. Valencia have had an intial bid rejected, while Fiorentina and Real Madrid continue to monitor the situation, as rumours of rift between player and club emerge.

There are no permanent signings to speak of. However, two loan deals have been inked thus far. Teenage keeper Nicola Leali has joined on a one year loan from Brescia, as understudy to Ivanov. And striker Mauro Boselli has also joined on a year long loan from Wigan Atheltic. Professor Nutmeg also wishes to negotiate a loan deal for Cagliari's Daniele Magliocchetti, if Palmieri heads for the exit this summer.

The New Season
Division 2 sees Bari, Parma and Lecce drop down from Serie A, making the coming season's battle for promotion even more challenging. AS Ganzoraccio will kick off their season away to Parma.

I'm debating whether to start over again and do that editing stuff so that my finances ain't huge and maybe start off with the old faithful names of ML past.

I'll take a look tonight at it.

Which balls are people playing with in ML? I can't find the setting where you can change it. It's normally in 'general settings.' I appear to have the PES 2011 ball in my ML. Perhaps this is the official/default D2 ball? I don't mind it. I'm just wondering if i can change it.
 
I haven't found it either Prof (to change balls).
I'm also considering to start all over again. The first transfer window was a major disappointment for me. Having had dozens of players scouted, i would have thought that my scout would negotiate at least wit h a couple of realistic targets amongst them (i had 5 or 6 players where my scout reports said that they would certainy willing to join Pro Vercelli). But no the negotioations he stated where with players that do not interst me. He bought no lees than 3 goal keepers while i never had the intention to buy one (i never let him scout one). I searched and never found a way to refuse players he started to negotiate with.
Maybe i have to sack him. Maybe i should just continue, because after all this is a big challenge to play with unwanted players...but it is all so unrealistic. With Dodo i have only one Italian player in my squad....

Don't know what to do.

Anyone has any sugestions?
 
I'm guessing you have allowed the scout to do all the siginings? I have it on negotitate directly. This means the scout draws up the contract offer (once i've said start negotiations). He then comes back with either talks broke down, or time to decide what to do ie accept the terms, or you can change the terms a bit yourself.
Maybe go to 'talks in progress' or whatever it's called, highlight a player and 'end negotiations'
 
Started ML yesterday, D2, some random team on top player. Loving the challenge but finding it quite hard to break teams down centrally, which is the way i like to attack. Been playing with a 4-4-2 diamond but thinking of switching to a 4-3-3 with a SS dropping back and two CF. Hopefully have more luck! I signed Michael Owen in first week....lol is this normal?

Can you actually change the ball each game? I haven't looked in General settings, but the only thing I can remember is that you can choose the type of ball to use for each competition. If you edit the league/cup name, emblems etc there is a choice for intro music to each game and the ball.

I have a feeling that you only have one ball allowed per competition.

And Gerd, I do believe you've let the scout handle all transfers, that's your problem. Best choosing to negotitate directly, the scout does the contract but you can choose the player etc to go and you can edit terms if you are successful.

FD is correct, you can set the league ball (and the cup ball) in edit mode, under leagues/cups, as well as setting league patches. If you want a different ball every game, just put it on random.

The good news is that this updates in your ML, so you can change it whenever you want and you will see it in your ML.
 
Well have started my game over again, this time I've went with the custom boys.

Have put in a few of the edited players I've created for the past few years for my Rodos team.

Did the edit thing to ensure I didn't get too much money, started with around £15m and then sponsors brought that upto £21m-ish.

Brought in:-

LB: Nikolaos - Good utility player who has a blistering shot and is also a back-up goalie when required.

CB: Dracos - Hulking Centre Half, who can play right back and an emergency striker.

SMF: Dokos - Speedy winger, very raw, but has plenty of pace to burn, can also fill in as a a a striker but erratic in front of goal.

AMF: Zeus - Skilful playmaker, star of the team.

Also with the classic master ML default team quite like the looks of some of the players who I'll keep:-

Also brought in a few youth players, Palmieri - CB, Schmitz - CB, Schwarz - CF.

Tried to bring in Agata, but bid rejected, also trying to bring in Youth Paraguayan Goalie (forget name) and also will try and get the likes of Papazoglu (PAOK - ST), Koutsanalakis (PAOK - SMF), Tshabalala (S.AFR - SMF), Mphela (S.AFR - ST), Sokratis (AC MILAN - CB/DM), Booth (S.AFR - CD). These will be my main players to bring in. Defo want more of a Greek feel to the squad.

Drew my first game at home 0-0 with Larissa. Drab affair.

Hopefully with the added dimension of Nikolaos, Zeus, Dokos and Dracos my team will be very much improved now.

I Tigrotti kicked off the new season with an away win at Division 2 new boys, AC Parma. Franco-Italian midfielder Sebastien Ettori played in Minanda's old position, in the hole and struck minutes before half-time to earn the Biancoblu their first three points of the season.

Bologna And Ganzoraccio Entertain in Cup Thriller
In the Coppa Italia, Ganzoraccio faced Serie A side Bologna, in a thrilling encounter. Bologna took the lead through an unfortunate Matthew Ruskin own goal, but Ganzoraccio turned it around, to win 3-2 at the Stadio Renato dall'Ara. Goals from Dodo, Oscar and Castolo, saw the visitors set up an enticing return leg, when the Rossoblu visit the Stadio Comunale.
 
Well, i decided to continue my ML with Pro Vercelli after all.
I made sure that i can change the way transfers are done. From now on i'll do them myself.
I have to say the scout provided me with a couple of decent players: Shimizu, Schwarz are fictional players.
And then there aresome new players i'm not sure of: a Swedish CB (Mattson) who is really good, Pelaez (Sapnish SMF, my favourite until now) and Hora or Hera (a Cech winger).

Pro Vercelli won their first three matches after the winter pause and are still top of the table with an advantage of one point on Boca Juniors. The third team (Triestina) is already 15 points behind. So it looks as if promotion is not far away...

Rodos come up gold in Olympiakos

Rodos put behind their indifferent ML form into the ML Cup with a 2-1 win. Although adrift by 5 points from top spot in 10th place The Deers managed to come up trumps against the MLS greek team.

Rodos hope that this will springboard them into better form in the league and put them in with the promotion contenders for the MLS, to which they do face off against top spot team A.C. Nitsaloskis

Rodos had wideman Georgios Dokos and young German forward Karl Schwarz to thank for their progression that sent the Piraeus team crashing out of the cup. A late consolation on the final whistle for Olympiakos was all that they could muster against the ML team, who were the superior team throughout.



Rodos require Frontal Lobotomy

Rodos plan to invest in some surgery of their own for their misfiring forward line. Rodos have only 4 forwards on their books. Brazilian striker Castolo seems to be the preferred option up front with a.n. other, but even he in his mid-30s is finding it tough with only a two goal return and is not a long term solution to what seems to be an on-going problem for The Deers.

Youngster Karl Schwarz promoted from the youth team chipped in with a goal in the cup against Olympiakos however it is felt that it is too soon to push the raw talent into the first team picture. Guitierrez and Hulyens are the only other two options but do not seem to be at the forefront of the managers future plans.

Rodos have some irons in the fire with regards to transfers and are hoping to bring in upto three new strikers in the January window, with Istanbul’s Portugese striker Rui Agata, S.Africa’s Katlego Mphela and lanky PAOK striker http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Athanasios_Papazoglou. They are also trying to bring in Milan’s greek defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos and PAOK wideman Vasilios Koutsianikoulis - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. The intention is to bring in as many players as possible to help push for a promotion spot and then have the bulk of players ready to compete in the top league.

However in the meantime they will have to ensure that they put some consistency to their league form to ensure that any new signings will not be too late.

For a change, I have set myself some crazy objectives, one of those is to have a squad where all the players are of different nationalities. I don't know when I'll achieve this, but its like a side mission.

Lost the ML with PSV on the last day by a goal, it hurt like hell. Just started my second season this is my PSV team, desperate to win the title back of AJAX

EDIT: Another bit of irritating but brilliant realism from konami, my best player Afellay is attracting interest from across europe, every time I reject an offer or try and price him out of a move his form and happiness goes down. Its looking like I may have to sell, highly disapointing but one of the many reasons why ML will always be king.

Ganzoraccio See Off Bologna Challenge

The second leg of the first round Coppa Italia tie, saw AS Ganzoraccio defeat Bologna once again, by the same scoreline. A brace from Ordaz and a Dodo strike gave the 'Little tigers' a 3-2 victory (6-4 agg) at the Stadio Comunale. Professor Nutmeg fielded a changed side, as he concentrates on league promotion. Ganzoraccio will face Catania in the next leg of the competition.
 
Pro Vercelli out in the Coppa after thriller in Firenze:

Having lost the home leg with 0-1 (goal by Vargas who was outstanding) Pro Vercelli knew very well what they had to do: an away win.
The Serie B outfit started this match in the quarter finals very offensively. Shimizu, Ordaz, Schwarz and Pelaez all missed chances. In the 75th minute Ordaz finally broke the deadlock. Pro Vercelli continued to dominate the match but did not manage to score the winner.
In extra time both teams had several opportunities to win the match but failed to score the winning goal.
In the end the decision would come from the penalties. Ruskin missed the 7th penalty for Pro Vercelli and Fiorentina progressed to the semi-finals after a thriller.

Poor Ruskin redeemed himself in the next match by scoring the winning goal in a 2-1 against Ancona in injury time
 
I've had Ruskin score in open play. I love it when my defenders score. I've had both full backs score so far, although Ruskin was only this season. I miss the days of my centre backs powering in headers from corners though. Vorlander used to be great at them.

gerd, did you get the 'last gasp' achievemnet for that winner? I got it recently.

Why miss them bud ?

Just go to Set-Piece Settings, scroll to the bottom, and choose both your CB's to go forward for all set-pieces. My CB's are pretty much the only players I have scoring from corners, well, apart from my keeper who has now scored 2 in the last minute. :)

I had that with Sunderland after a really terrific goal: a centre from Henderson, followed by a beautifull volley from Zenden: from 0-1 to 2-1 in injury time....

Oh, and i do the same as jimmy, it works very well...there is also a tactic where you can play one CB upfront.

Chaps, there is a 'bug' in this years ML whereby if you edit a fictitious team BEFORE beginning your ML you will automatcially start as a higher rated team with a better budget etc. To begin at the very bottom you have to actually start your ML with the unedited team and then edit them AFTER you've begun the Master League. That way you start with virtually no budget and the lowest ranking.

For some reason this bug isn't apparent in my game (I use gerd's Option file with Anglo/Celt teams as Div 2). And I'm beginning to wish it was!!!

Seems that which ever Championship/Celtic team I start a ML with (I've tested 4 or 5) you only get a budget of £2-3m. I even edited one of his teams (Shamrock Rovers) to a ficticious team (changed name, badge etc) and I still only got £3m. I was quite gutted because after paying wages I only had about 30k left!!!! I've just started the second half of my first season. I did win enough games to sign Andy Caroll (for about £200k) but I'm skint again now. The thing I enjoy most about ML is wealing and dealing in the transfer market, looking for unknown gems.... but I simply have no cash!

I'm currently 4th in the league and I'm waiting to see what happens at the end of the season because with gate receipts & sponsors so low I could win every single match from now on and still not have the £2-3m needed to pay next season's costs. Anyone know what will happen then...Game Over? How much money do you get for being promoted?

I'm all for a challenge but I could be in a situation where I do well, get promoted and still have 'Game Over' after all that trouble!!!! So I'm not sure which is worse....unrealistic huge amounts of money like some of you guys or bugger all??? Just wish there was a balance.

Anyways, a wee problem seems to be happening to me.

As I mentioned previously I had created a few players that I always use with my Rodos team. However since the season has started they have continually been in the Purple down arrow and their records shows that they have a 'frosty relationship with the club' wtf? Is this a problem with all edited players (as the same thing happened in my previous game with Agata who I had forgot to change his age (I make him a tad younger) and he always was a purple down arrow?

Anyone see this issue as well?

Ah, thanks bud, i shall try that. You see, i'm just used to the PS2 (in fact, the earlier PESs, where CBs naturally seeked out offensive headers from corners).

Yeah, i saw my keepe rcome up for a corner the other night, it was 1-1 at the time, with tthe whistle beckoning.

Yes, i always have the CB overlap as a tactic. It works pretty well. When you're pressing for that equaliser/winner, the CB generally pops up in the right place and on many occasions, i have scored.

Not an issue with created players FD. I have loaned in a defender who i haven't played yet this season. He has been purple for a while with the 'frosty relationship' thingy. So i thought i'd play him in a match, which i did last night. I might give him som sub apperances or more games and see if he doesn't improve.
 
Hmmm, not sure, they are my first teamers, they ain't on the bench.

Would they stay Purple if I was playing them then? I thought if I dropped them it wouldn't help? It's just bizarre that they have played every game but have never been any other form colour than purple?

Maybe I do need to drop them, I don't know.
