Master League Adventures and other ML stuff 2011!

Yeah that's what I'm looking forward to.

Am in the Cup Final so I could well be playing Europa League footy if I play my cards right. :)

FD

Of course things took a turn recently and i lost some league games. However, i got back to winning ways with a thrilling 2nd leg, Coppa Italia tie against Udinese. 4-3 was the aggregate (1-1 & 3-2) as Dodo scored twice in the return, home leg. As is customary for me these days, i fielded fringe and youth players who have responded well. Catania up next in the cup.

FD

Well done FD.

I'm slipping down the Serie A table after a decent start. I think i've only won one in my last 3 or so and i have to turn around a 1-0 deficit to Catania, in a second leg Coppa Italian tie.

On a side note, don't you just love it when you change formation and /or make a substituition and get instant results. I brought on my Costa Rican flyer, Pablo Herrera, only for the little guy to get on the end of a deflected cross and score with his first touch. Sweet. Oh and the cross came from Pelaez, my other sub.

I played a couple of good games yesterday. First up, the 2nd leg of the Coppa Italia. I went in 1-0 to Catania (at home), so i was delighted to see Pelaez draw level from a free kick within three minutes, Capagnolo caught short between the posts. Ordaz was brought down inthe box later in the game, but fluffed the spot kick, as Campagnolo this time saved it. However, resulting open play saw the Spaniard find the net seconds later. Midfielder Alisic then made it 3-0 on the night with a fierce drive from just inside the box. Catania got one back with 15 minutes left, but were unable to turn around the result. I now face Inter Milan in the quarter-finals.

Next up, a Serie A tie against Inter, in Milan. A look at the team was enough for me to play this one with caution. Fortunately Inter chose to start with Messi on the bench (yes he's at Inter). Perhaps they thought they didn't need him. Anyway, my striker Sforzini gets a shock goal in the first half and i manage to hold on to the lead for a while. Meanwhile in the second half, Inter bring on Messi and shove 5 players up front. Bizarrely, Lucio spearheaded the attack, as a striker and it was he who eventually bundled in an equaliser, ten minutes from time, for the Nerazzurri. A good draw for AS Ganzoraccio though. I would have taken that at the start. I'm currently 7th or 8th in the table (can't remember)

Started a ML as Leeds and currently sitting top after 7 league games or so, winning fairly comfortably for the most part too (on Top Player).

Unfortunately I had Arsenal away in the FA Cup. After taking the lead, the CPU had that usual habit of scoring immediately when it thinks it's wrong that I'm leading and so they scored their usual corner routine. And then again a few minutes later.

Knowing I had nothing to lose, I decided to put my mentality right up to attacking and created a few chances but couldn't put them away. Unfortunaley RVP and Arshavin jumped right onto those missed chances and kicked my ass black and blue with counter attacks and I ended up getting mauled 6-1 in the end  :FAIL:

Hoping that my players wouldn't be on purple arrows for the next game, I was pleased to find that their form was fine, and I went on to beat Portsmouth 4-0 :)

Very much enjoying this ML, got Kallstrom pulling the strings behind the strikers, Coutinho on the bench but hasn't been great when he's came on, and signed a good RB whose name I can't remember.

Promotion should be comfortable having P7 W6 D1 so far and I can't see any major stumbling blocks in the league. If I do get promoted, I'll need to strengthen the team up. I don't fancy any more repeats of that Arsenal game if I can help it :)

i am very dormant in the transfer window, generally like to develop my team and play them out till they retire. its so much satisfying seeing the youths making their debue, hitting their peaks, and then retiring at the same club.
although wage issues creep in as they develop and sometimes i am forced to release players to save my financial system, but i rarely get one in.
since i work more as a team, i rarely use tricks n all, so i think every player's contribution is very balanced, and that these youths, if trained, right from the start, focussing on team work (in training focal points), i think they perform well and work for each other without the need of those individual brilliance.
it feels special, a group so united!
i took up westham and now in love with hitzelberger, he is truly special! though he is 33 now, graph going steeply down, but still he starts in all big matches. n still doesnt ask for big pay packages.

ML is great with smaller teams.

Great start Dags, but expect a long season to take it's toll on your players, the true test of your sqaud will be defined by it's ability to last the duration.

AS GANZORACCIO NEWS...

PARMA HAMMERED
AS Ganzoraccio dished out a 4-1 beating to AC Parma in the league, achieving their biggest win so far under Professor Nutmeg. Two goals came via the 'Costa Rican connection'. Pablo Herrera grabbed the first and he later supplied fellow compatriot Celso Borges, who finished with an emphatic header. Sforzini and Alisic grabbed the other two goals.

Interesting, I'm starting one with Leeds now, BUT i have all these edited tactics and formations for every premier league and championship team, so it will most likely be harder for me.

A last minute penalty and subsequent victory over Bolton Wanderers in the FA Cup has put some much needed gloss on a so-so start to the season from the men from Deepdale.

8 games into the season and 3 wins, 1 draw and 4 defeats, the most recent away at Coventry City, is not wholly unexpected, but a paltry return of just 5 goals points to worrying times ahead.

Star man... Andy Lonergan

Andy-Lonergan-2.jpg

Dependable, assured and solid when it matters, the big Englishman between the sticks has been a revelation.

Biggest dissapointment... Michael Tonge

Michael-Tonge-Preston-NE_2397113.jpg

Shown just glimpses of the form that saw his star rise to such asendancy some years ago. Promises much in an advanced midfield role but tends to drift out of games.

Sale of the century... John Parkin

The kindest thing one can say about the powerful frontman is that he holds the ball up well. As the goals continually fail to materialise, he has been surpassed by Canadian Iain Hume and Joshua King. Placed on the transfer list.

Hidden gem... Leon Cort

A raw but promising CB who has thankfully come to the fore as Craig Morgan has been sidelined for up to 7 months.

New Faces... Ian Harte
The veteran full back - In a team with Ritchie De Laet and promising Aussie Bailey Wright, already fighting over the left back berth, the decsion to bring the Irishman in on a free transfer was an odd one. Still his experience and knowledge of the championship and top flight may prove to be invaluable.

One to watch... Athanasios Papazoglou

Contact has been made with PAOK regarding their gangly hitman...

Steve Nicol's tenure at Preston looks increasingly precarious, after a run of 7 defeats, punctuated only by a point garnered at the new Den. This humbling string of losses has seen the side plummet to the foot of the table by the midway point of the season, with just Leeds and Reading within touching distance.

Thankfully the January transfer widow swings open tomorrow, however the truth is that the side needs guile, quality and pace in all areas and realistically Chairman Maurice Lindsay is likley to only countenance 3 deals.

The first of which already seems to have been signed and sealed with Heracles Almelo's teenage wingman Anmar Almubaraki leaving The Netherlands for the North West. The Iraqi flyer is a confident prospect, but surely it is asking too much to expect the weight of relegation to League One to rest on his young shoulders.

Local press reports, hint that a potential deal for PAOK's Greek striker Athanasios Papazoglou (pictured centre) fell through over a failure to agree personal terms, so it still is assumed that a goalscorer remains a key priority.

paok-papazoglou-scores-m.jpg

Nicol and Mariner, well known to have built up an encycolpedic knowledge of world football from their time hunting for MLS bargains may also been keen on a DMF to stem the steady stream of goals conceded by a porous defence. The most humbling example of which was a 5-2 home defeat by QPR, where the Londoners ratcheted up a 4-0 within just 30 first half mins.

Hope things fare better for you Db.
Still haven't started a ML because i'm editing every single fake team and every single player of those teams...i have to say that i really enjoy all the research and the editing, but of course it is kind of freakish.
I 've been creating most of the Jupiler league teams, Bundesliga teams, Swiss and Austrian teams, Swedish teams and some additional Portugese teams (and all their players).

Still something like 10 teams and 230 players to go before i can start.

You're crazy gerd :P It's nice to know what has been editd in your OF though.

I may be slow on the uptake, as i'm only in my third ML season, but has anyone else noticed international players creeping into the game (available to buy)? It appears to be random internationals becoming available, although they don't seem to appear at their real/correct age. This means i actually have to edit real names now (what a hassle).

Hey guys,

Long time no see. What is the Master League for the current series of the game? It's been four years now since I bought a PES game; totally lost on how the game has been progressing.

Hi Stringer, good to read you again...thought you disappeared with your nick from the Wire.
This year's PES is a good one...ML is superb, but the fake teams annoy me, that's why i am editing all: kits (rubbish compared to the real kit makers), players, team style, everything..i've been busy for almost two months now...

But all in all the ML is very good. You will like it.

Take care my friend. Hope we hear more from you, i always liked you a lot.

So i'm bouncing around 6th, 7th 8th and 9th place in Serie A, in the second half of the season, hoping to claim a European place - Europa League perhaps.
I'm also still in an exciting Coppa Italia adventure. I've played the first leg of the semi-final against AC Milan, in which i lost 2-1 at the San Siro, but got that important away goal. Hopefully it will count for something in the return leg, at my Stadio Comunale in a few weeks.

I made it to the Coppa Italia final, as i beat AC Milan 3-2 on aggregate. I was 2-1 down (with an away goal) from the first leg, so getting that goal in the home leg was a priority. It took a while though and i eventually got it. Little Herrera grabbed a second goal, to make it 2-0 on the day. I now face a rampant Juventus, who thrashed Bari in the other semi-final and are running away with the Serie A title at the moment.

I'm wondering, if you Juventus were to win the final (and the league), would a Europa League place go to 8th place in the league or to the losers of the Coppa final (me, if i don't finish in the European places)? It's varied before in recent PES.

In the EPL on PES, the Europa spot would be given to the League Cup Runners-up. If that team has already qualified by the League placing route, then it would go to 8th place. I'm sure this will be the case for you to Prof. :)

Currently into my second season with SS Lazio, won the coppa italia in my first season. Well into my second season 3rd in the table(10 games left) and into the semi finals of the europa league where I face a tricky tie against PSG, a good possibility of an all Italian final with fiorentina.

GK - Muslera
DR - Lichsteiner
DC - Suchy
DC - Biava
DL - Radu
DM - Ladesma
MC - Hernanes
MC - Mauri
MC - Rakitic
SS - Zarate
CF - Necid

Hernanes is superb on this game, versatile, strong and a real eye for goal. We also have the best defence in the league having conceded 15 goals in 30 games, not bad considering I have the young Marek Suchy at CB. Managed to sign rakitic from schalke who has formed a great partnership with mauri.

I'm having a blast playing with Marseille but I feel insulted and let down by the transfer system/logic.

In my first season I won the league, had a tactical breakthrough (I've had another one since then) which helped me get past Barca, Real and Man Utd to win the Champions League. I finished the season as the No.1 ranked team and plenty of money to spend.

I had a list of targets but spent most of the off season rejecting offers for my key players, every week, said players would lose 'affection' for me and eventually I had to cave in and let my talisman midfielder (Lucho) go to Man City. I then spent weeks trying to replace him with Bastian ... but I refused to meet the £39m that Bayern wanted.

I had Younes Kaboom on loan for the second half of the season and wanted to make it a permanent deal but Spurs also wanted £39m and my scout said that its difficult signing players that are first team regulars... WTF!

My wonderful scout also encouraged me to bid for Suarez but guess how much Ajax wanted...

I had teams like West Ham making bids for Valbuena and Taiwo, I wish I could alert these CPU teams that they aren't for sale.

I eventually replaced Lucho with Toni Kroos but Bayern hustled me and got £31m from me (last week of the window).

Is it possible to offer players a pre contact in January?

Also the fee paid to loan players is unrealistic, on three separate occasions I've paid £7m to loan players.

Despite all that, I am enjoying OM. To date I've signed...

Juan Mata
Bassong
Canales (loan)
Morales (Dinamo Zagreb)
Rodwell (loan now permanent)
Lukalu (?)
Toni Kroos
Diaby (loan)
Deco and Palmieri (youth team)
Lens
Eden Hazard

Currently playing 3-2-3-2

To keep a player happy when rejecting an offer, ask for around 4/5 times what the other team offered they will then break negotiations without any loss to your players happiness, you could have kept lucho I had a similar issue with OM.

Hey guys, I have a few questions:

1.) How long have you been able to negotiate with players outside the market (but then the move happens inside the market)?
2.) How long have you been able to see teams/players progress under the 'team info' section.?
3.) How long are loans on this game? And are there any bugs with the loans i.e players not coming back etc..?

I'm interested in the first two as I want to know whether they are new features or regular features.

Hey guys - quick question. My first PES and I'm loving Master league online but haven't started an offline ML yet. I can start as a real team and play in that league or I can start with the fake players? If I start with fake players, do I have to still choose a real team in which to put them? Or do I create my own team and make my own strip and then choose a league to play in, and does this mean a real team is left out of the league.

If you don't want to start with a real team (with fake players), you can edit one of the dozens fake team.
For example iff you want to play with Adelaide United, you go to the edit section and make the emblem and the strips of Adelaide United, and then change the name.
One of the things you could do (in my example) is create an Australian league and change some fake teams until you have all the Australian top flight teams.
In the edit section of the game there is also the possibility to edit the leagues. It is possible that some Scottish fans want to have the Old Firm teams in the premiership. They can put Celtic and Rangers in the Premier league (but have to change to English teams, to my knowledge it isn't possible to change the amount of teams in a league.

Hope this helps, if you have further questions, feel free.

Thanks Gerd. Sounds good. I am focussing on building a better MLO team first then I will get around to playing offline, maybe starting with a real team but middle of the range and building it up. If only I could find an option file with the Australian League!! I would do it myself but I dont have the xbox webcam for importing strips etc and I think thats the only way to do it on an Xbox :( I was halfway through an A-League season on FIFA 11 until I decided how much I disliked that game offline and traded it in lol. I much prefer PES!! and i never thought id own a PES game before 3 months ago! lol
thanks again
frank

Right at the moment i'm editing all the fake teams.
It's a hell of a job and i'm doing it all by myself, i haven't used photographs.
The kits are reasonably good, but the emblems are for my eyes only.
I use FM Manager to edit all the players. Still 5 teams to go...

The clubs i've "made" are from the Jupiler League (Belgium) Bundesliga, Austrian, Swiss, Portugese and Russian ligues (not all of them).

Nice work. How are you doing your editing? Are you on Xbox or PS3? I am happy to spend time creating the A-League teams (there are only 11 teams) if I could get the strips looking half accurate with logo's for the shirts and club etc. I could base copy the players across who I think are similar and tweak their stats a little to get a ball-park figure for the players in Australia.
Or else is it correct I can create Adelaide United and stick them in a league of my choice populate with whichever teams I want? For example, could I edit leagues so that I have a Division 1 and Division 2 but made up of a wide mixture of teams. But that will affect which teams go into the champions league and europa league obviously.
