Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeah man. That David Gill interview is not good for the fans at all.Looks like we cant sign players until we dispose some of our current lads.I noticed Gill was behaving rather wierdly when he said sumthin like.."we have to look for a new keeper if Roy Carroll dosent signs. We'll have to find the funds for that." It sounds as if he's lying! We are the richest club in the world and now all of a sudden, all of our profits are down by 50%??? I really smelly something fishy here and yah,a takeover too.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Well we did spend £30million on Rooney plus the money for Heinze, Smith and we'll also be starting the expansion of the stadium at the end of this season.
I'm not surprised that we lost so much money.
And where were we supposed to make our money back from? We finished 3rd in the table last season and this year we were knocked out of the CL earlier than we expected.
But maybe you're right, Phase. We are still the richest club in the world after all.

4 (10) Chelsea £143.7m
5 (2) Juventus £142.4m
6 (7) Arsenal £115m

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Are you serious? We are unbeaten in I dont know how many games. If we start next season the way we are finishing this one, then we will be the team to beat. Its taken time for Rooney, Ronaldo and Heinze to gel, but its happening now. We have a young squad, and can only get better - Carrol going is good, because we will have to sign a GK now - and hopefully a world-class, well known `keeper.

But Chelsea are also unbeaten for a long period and have drawn fewer games than us.
We can play better but some of the managerial decisions are holding us back.
If I was the manager, I'd stick Ruud on the bench and play 4-4-2 with Rooney and Saha/Smith. Ruud is only in the first XI because of how well he played in the past, not because of his current performance.

If Chelsea Milan or juve do the League and CL double they will then replace you!

If Ruud doesnt play, he might not ever get his past-form back.

True but playing him could cost us results. We might have beaten you if we had an in form Saha or Smith instead.

Or an in form Ruud.
Ruud was in the same boat as Saha and Smith during that time.
Just before his injury Ruud was the top scorer in the CL, where he really helped us. Remember his two goals against Lyon when he had just returned from injury?
As long as keeps getting games his form will hopefully return.

Another thing, do we really need any new signings other than Keeper and possibly and left winger? I think the current team can do really good next season by just looking at the way there are playing now. Look at how Ronaldo has developed since his first season at Manchester, and Rooney is already better by levels compared to his Everton days. Bellion has also improved alot. Even Scholes, Giggs and Keane have been much better than they were last season.
I also believe that if Fletcher and Kleberson have a stable run of games that they will truly show their worth.

If Carroll joins a team with a shocking defence

I hate to say it but Northern Ireland have a pretty shocking defence,
a pretty shocking team too. Carroll would be one of the best in that team too.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Maybe you're right about Ruud but we still need new players.
Can you remember last year when Gerrard was about to join Chelsea? If Gerrard leaves for Chelsea now, he's probably gonna cost an extra £20million cuz he keeps getting better and better.
If we're gonna get someone like Essien or Downing, we better do it now rather than later.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Caroll did veru imo for united i guess people here are biased towards howard. Imean they are both 24 and both equally can become very good goalkeepers. Yes carrol made big mistakes but so does any keeper, imo he is more confident then howard. To lose him for free is our loss.

Can someone tell me what was the point in signing ricardo as he never got the chance and im sure at one point he was in the Spain squad.

carrol is 28 this year.... i guess i dont see the upside in carrol, sure he looks more confident, but he should, he has been playing in europe for a long time, howard is 18 when it comes to expereince, and athletically, he is probably one of the best on the entire United team, what is the one thing you cant teach a goalie? atheletic ability....

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Howard isn't 18. He's 26 this year. Thought you'd have known that being his lover and all. ;)

your average, your dissapointed in yourself, so you have to have a go at everyone on here... poor guy

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I don't see what people find funny in Csaunders' praises for Howard. I can guarantee you that Timmy will be one of the top 3 keepers in a few years.

I haven't had a go anyone, i just think your a bit sad, how much you love one player :lmao: You dodn't even know me. What does your dissapointed in yourself suppose to mean, dissapointed about what? Strange one you. \\:o/

Also i think this season overall for united has been dissapointing, if we win the fa cup it will only make it slightly better. Realistically the title is over, unless chelsea completley fuck up.

From Eurosport and Sky Sport news:

Police are investigating claims that England and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney assaulted a 22-year old in a Manchester nightclub on Saturday night. The student from Taunton claims the 19-year-old forward raised his fists but witnesses have underlined Rooney's non-involvement in the affair.

He went straight to the press and allegedly got paid £5k, i also heard that Rio and Carroll were with Rooney at the time,

tomorrows The S*n headline reads

RAGING ROON BEAT ME UP

aparently the Everton fan (figures) was slagging him off and was sent out of the club and that was it.

im expecting a 10 page spread on this in the s*n tomorrow

ROONEY DENIES FIGHT CLAIM

Police are investigating claims that England striker Wayne Rooney assaulted a taunting fan in a nightclub brawl.

Greater Manchester Police said they were making enquiries after a 22-year-old man made a formal complaint against the £28m Manchester United star.

It is alleged that the 19-year-old footballer hit the man, a student, at Tiger Tiger bar, in Manchester's city centre, when the man confronted him about his controversial move from Everton last year.

The star's manager has denied the claims and said Rooney did not respond to the taunts.

A spokesman for Rooney said: "Wayne was approached by a man he had never met in a menacing and threatening manner.

"At no stage did Wayne respond. The man was immediately asked to leave the nightclub in the company of security guards."

Rooney had been in the bar with team-mates Rio Ferdinand, Wes Brown and Roy Carroll when the confrontation took place at around 1am.

It is claimed that the man screamed obscenities at Rooney and shouted "once a blue, always a blue", in reference to his former Everton career.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Sheep why does your sig say I love Roy Carrol

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Why would rooney risk his reputation hitting some random nobody shouting abuse at him in a club. When week in week out he has had more abused hurled at him by thousands of angry bitter fans than any other player in the EPL.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

maybe because Rooney may have had a couple plus it was directly in his face

anyway hope Rooney didnt hit this worthless moron, lets hope its just been 'blown up' by the papers.
