Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

glad to see diego doing well in la liga

with all the talk of a keano replacement, i think we need to give liam miller a solid, consistent run out before ruling him out. at any rate, essien seems like a decent prospect

Do you ever stop moaning ? ;)

I will stop moaning when we win something not just the fa cup though. i might moan about it to.

Whats the point in taking a chance (howard) and buying this keeper, we need to buy buffon or chech maybe.

Yeah he is well known but what does he have to do with tim howard? Does he actually really like him or is he having a laugh?

Not gonna happen mate

Good win today though, looking forward to see Ronaldo's strike and Howards save

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeah i heard ronaldos goal was good, i heard it was a 20 yarder he cut in from the left wing and put it top corner.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeah. Before he took it I was saying "How predictable, he's going to take a shot that fly way over the crossbar". Luckily I was wrong.
Csaunders, which save are you talking about?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

BTW, did you guys see the Crystal Palace keeper against Chelsea today? He let in the most embarassing goal from a Kezman shot, while back when we played then this guy was blocking penalties and stopping shots with his elbow.

LOL thats always the case. Whats up with you sheep you need to take a chill pill, your always swearing and having ago at everyone on here. Show some respect goddamn it, im sure you wouldnt be talking like that in real life face to face. Although i agree howard would have had his chance by the end of the season.

I as a united supporter am too frustrated especially with ferguson signing these shit avarage players instead of proper hard working players in midfield. I mean why didnt he go for guttuso years ago when there was a chance of getting him. Gravesen for 3m from everton would have worked or why not go for a proven goalkeeper like Frey or someone. We have to sign a player of quality this summer. It is rumoured that emre plans on leaving inter and he plays on the left wing or in centre midfield and has fire in his belly.

jensen hit the post, timmy dove, the rebound went to a fulham player, the guy ripped it, as timm was picking himself off the ground, he had a sick reaction save and kept fulham from tying.... cant beleive you guys dont remember, it was the best save a united keeper has made all year...

yeah i like tim,
a) he is american, so am I
b)i think he is going to be very good, with expereince..
c)you need to relax bro

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I saw the save and it wernt that good. I think carrol has made some good reflex saves this season far better than the one howard did today.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

It was a great save though. As soon as I seen their player winding up, I said to myself "typical, conceding a goal in the last minute again". Then suddenly the shot bounced off something. Then the camera panned to Timmeh.

100% in agreement.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yay! I finally fixed my PC and now I can come here again!!!

Anyway, back to topic.

Anyone know how many goals Timmy has conceeded this season?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Tim Howard hasnt had much to do for past few matches but when hes been called upon hes done well. When the opposing team cross the ball, he seems to be very comfartable in the air and claims the ball well. Howards looking alot better keeper than he did at the start of the season. Just hope he continues

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

He IS playing behind a better defence now and we say his ability last season so we shouldn't worry about our "keeper problem". My only concern is that Carroll will most likely leave and we'll need a new backup for Tim.

Another thing that I'm worried about is...
Red profits on the slide
Manchester United are set to announce a big slump in profits. That will strengthen American businessman Malcolm Glazer’s £800million takeover bid. Boss Alex Ferguson carries much of the blame because of United’s poor on-field performance and high spending on players such as £30million Wayne Rooney. City analysts say profits before tax could drop to £12million for the six months up to the end of January against £28.6m for the same period last year. Another early exit from the Champions League will affect future financial performance.
Staff reporter, The Sun

This could mean that we have no money for transfers in the near future. This is a blow to us IMO cuz we definately need atleast one more decent signing like Essien who's worth about £10million.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

We need our current signings to play better, NOW!
This is somewhat bad news.

nah friggin boca got in the way of another shot, that followed the one timmy saved, its tough to tell from the replays, you gotta look closeley, thank god for tivo :)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Roy Carrol is on his way in June, reported by David Gill this morning. He has rejected a new contract with United, and wants to move on.

So, it looks like we are after a new goalkeeper this summer! Yes! 8)

I don't see any good news here cuz he's gonna leave on a bosman when we could have got atleast £3-4million for him and now we have only one keeper excluding Ricardo who has only played about 2 games for us in 2 years (In the first team). If anything happens to Tim, even if its a minor injury that lasts one game, who's gonna cover for him?
And we also confirmed a huge loss in profits so what are the chances of us being able to sign a decent keeper? You lot can give him all the stick you want but IMO Carroll is a good keeper and there will be a queue of clubs waiting to sign him for free.
I'm really worried about this cuz if things stay the way they are, our next season will be just as bad as this in terms of winning any silverware. Cuz we need a few new signings to start next season with a bang. Right now, we don't look like we can do that.
