Am trying to have some perspective now that it seems clear we're stuck with LVG til the summer (sob).
This is our injury list: De Gea, Shaw, Darmian, Valencia, Rojo, Jones, Rooney, Fellaini, Schweinsteiger, Janujaz, Young, Lingard and now Keane too. I'm probably missing some.
I'd forgotten some of them existed. We've been woeful at RB - oh yeah, it's because Valencia, Jones and Young have basically been injured all season. LB has been a problem and we have an 18 year old who wasn't very good in the reserves playing week in week out, oh yeah it's cause Shaw and Rojo have been out all season.
Given how every week people talk about how 'modern full backs' are the most important position on the pitch, having about 5 injuries at FB for the last 6 months probably hasn't helped.
It's amazing to then see other teams in both England and the continent playing essentially first choice teams at this stage of the season. Notable exception being City this year, welcome to Manchester?
In all seriousness, we've 'won' the injury league 3 out of the last 4 seasons, and that was after shipping out Hargreaves. What are we doing in training that other teams aren't? Where are the well paid fitness gurus?
Will Keane came on for 3 minutes, took his first shot and pulled his groin. That's scandalous in modern sports. Our physios/coaches HAVE to have him stretching properly.
