Manchester United Thread

I know some might think 'what's this got to do with anything?', but I sincerely feel ever since Woodward became in control, the team's been failing hard.

From Wiki:
Woodward was appointed to the board of directors and named executive vice-chairman of Manchester United in 2012. After the retirement of CEO David Gill the following year, Woodward was promoted to the top operational role at Old Trafford in a restructuring of the club's boardroom

Is it a coincidence?

Shows what I know re: Rashford, couldn't be happier for the lad.

Not a great opponent, but that was more fun than United have been in a year. Not just the goals, but the attitude.

Memphis had by far his best night in a United shirt, happy he got his deserved goal.

Huge test on Sunday though.

"You'll never win anything with kids"

We had energy and pace and we need to get rid of Rooney, hopefully LVG sees this now.

Rashford has had an amazing start, let's hope the injury isn't too serious.

Van Gaal... I still don't believe he did that
And the nerve on that guy, cause it happened in between 2 occasions when Ander Herrera went down like a sack of potatoes.
But let's focus on the funny bit of it, because obviously the internet went to work on him:

Apparently, Mata has been paying attention to Messi's free kicks! What a beauty that was!

Bad performance, but I'll take those 3 points... even more important since Arsenal, City and Spurs lost!

Dare I say if Mourinho took over right now he'd have a chance to win you the league.

10 points away from Leicester, with 10 rounds to go. I wouldn't doubt. It would depend on the performance of the others, but I know Arsenal doesn't want it, and Leicester could lose their breath. It would also depend on how Tottenham will do on their biggest games.

Problem is that we're crap. This 'resurgence' has been against a Danish side, a League 1 side, Arsenal in February and we should have lost last night if Ighalo wasn't such a huge United fan ;)

We'll lose to WBA on Sunday and we can get back to the fact that we're really sh*t.

Can't believe how much the 'narrative' has changed on LVG.

Arsenal in February lol so true! They were 12pts leading once until Ferbruary came around.Never forgotten that Ronaldo shushing the crowd in that midweek match in February.

Yeah nothing's changed really, Rashford is having a 'Macheda'. Not suggesting he'll go on to be a similar level but its a young kid whose happened to save us, he's not going to keep that up.

Our best bet is the Europe League and that should be the priority.

Interesting stat on Mourinho - and I'm still pro getting rid of LVG:
In Mou's time at Chelsea, who have the best U21 team in the country without a doubt, and arguably in Europe - he gave 5 first team debuts to academy players.

LVG gave 5 first team debuts to academy players at United...in the last week.

Cripes.

I hope the hunger doesn't die because he looks like a much better player than Macheda was.

Phew, can we please get back to sorting our joke of a club out again? LVG out for rest of season, Mourinho in the summer.

LVG has proven nothing in the last 4 matches. Nothing.

Also, man do I feel for WBA supporters. Pulis has this team setup to strip any fun out of football, aside from time wasting appealing for free kicks. Pulis is a cancer on football.

I'm very nervous for tonight's match. I definitely think that we are the underdogs here and Klopp will pull something out to amaze us.

Lindgard suspended and Januzaj being Cup-tied doesn't really help either...maybe Martial, Rashford and Depay leading the line with Mata, Schneiderlin and Herrera providing cover for the back four?

It's a weird week for my mindset. There are hopefully two possibilities over the next 7 days:

1. LVG continues to impress, and we go out of both Europa and FA Cup, meaning we can win nothing this season. LVG finally gets the f*cking sack and we appoint the mascot. Football improves.

2. LVG pulls yet another rabbit out of the hat, and we go through in both competitions, saving his job for another week.

Well that's in my optimistic mind. What will really happen is a combination of 1 and 2, where we lose against WHUFC, get a good result against LFC at OT but still go out of the tie on aggregate and LVG continues to have Saturday suppers at Ed's house. Sob.

I know United fans are spoilt, and Fergie took over when I was 5, but I am so incredibly apathetic to watching us now. Never felt that way before. I honestly can't be bothered, it just makes me angry.
