Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.
Have been watching the U21s, great tournament. So refreshing to be done with lots of the histrionics and faking. Oh, and England are actually good!
Tosic has impressed me. Second half of the first game he was Serbia's best player, though isolated in the first half. Looked alright against Belarus too, showed some decent skill and good delivery.
Strikes me a simple winger, dribbles, crosses. Also good on corners. My only issue is that if he wasn't a United player, I can't imagine I'd be screaming to sign him.
Personally I rate Campbell, reminds me of Agbonlahor. Never United first XI stuff, but useful an option. He is seriously quick, and likes to play on the shoulder of the last man. It seems a waste to me to sell him at such a young age. Then again our loans have utterly failed recently (Rossi, Campbell, Ebanks Blake, Simpson) as they never get game time. Not sure what the solution is.
We're in a weird situation whereby everyone is screaming out for a world class player, but there aren't really any available for what we need. In my perfect world, we'd get Ribery for less than £40m but the striker situation is harder. Rooney and Berbatov are both first XI players, and we won't play 66 games next season, so each could feature in maybe 40 odd. How do you convince a player like Benzema to come for 25/30 games some as a sub? In a world cup year? I don't have an answer. Whereas as limited and raw as someone like Welbeck is, he'll do the job asked of him.
Had Tevez stayed, problem would have been solved. But if our offer is as Jorchabian dsecribed and he turned it down - well f*ck him.
