Manchester United Thread

i think smith will play as a third striker...as in get a game every 2 wks...sub in most of the game etc...just like how we did during the 98/99 season with cole, yorke, teddy and ole...
will be very interesting because smith will bring alot alot of passion into the team because of his fighting spirit which i admire alot ever since last season

why not manutd play 4-3-1-2

smith as an attacking midfielder

any1 agree??

btw:has smith signed for us??

so where does scholes play?

dropping saha who cost 13 milllion for smith?

why did man utd go out and buy saha, when they could have bought smith for less money?

Thats quite a dumb statement innit? During the opening of the transfer season,no one knew that Leeds would go down right?? And no one could see Smith leaving Leeds if they didnt go down.Saha was the only available forward at that time and United need another striker, simple as that and 13 Million for Saha is worth it.

Look at it in this way lads,Smith has got to learn to be a squad player cos United is not Leeds. He cant request to be playing in the first XI week in week out when he knows there are better players than him. There are no primadonnas in United, the last one got booted off to Madrid.Smith,in pecking order would be only 3rd behind Ruud and Saha. These two cant be playing week in week out with the same impact can they? I'm sure Smith will have more than enough action at United.Remember 1999 when we had 4 superb forwards? I couldnt really recall anyone protesting of not having enough action for the season and all of them did well.Sir Alex is a good man manager and the impending inclusion of Alan Smith would cause little or no problem at all, trust me.

Smith aside...I know jack shit about this Gabriel Heinze and the last time I heard about him or saw his was on someone's avatar in this forum, can anyone provide the low-down about him? His strengths, his weakness and his style of play?

Acupalypse now
Millwall Cup hero Tim Cahill cranked up the pressure on Alex Ferguson and insisted: “It will be an apocalypse for Manchester United if they lose to us.” Aussie midfielder Cahill insists all the heat is on Ferguson’s struggling stars going into today’s Cardiff showdown. Cahill, 24, who scored the Lions’ semi-final winner against Sunderland insists: “United know they have to beat us. Defeat is definitely a frightening prospect for them."

You're the pits
Millwall star Tim Cahill reckons Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United side is the worst Old Trafford team he has seen. Aussie Cahill, who grew up supporting the Red Devils, believes his Lions can pull off an FA Cup final shock today as United’s season has gone ‘pear-shaped.’ He said: “United are going through a really sticky patch. You have to say it’s their worst line up in years."

This bloke Tim Cahill talks alot dosent he.I hope Keano would take his time off from taking the mickey out of Wise and give this guy a sucker punch.

Congrats guy! :D

Great game. Ronaldo and Giggs were awesome today. Ruud finally took a penalty like he's supposed to. Overall, everyone did great.
Too bad Forlan wasn't in the subs bench, not that it would make much of a difference, but I kinda felt sorry for him when I saw him in the suite. Looks like him might actually leave this time.

Very nice tribute to Jimmy Davis at the end if you ask me. Ronaldo was immense as he has been for about the last 10 games. The whole team played well. I think Fletcher's going to make a great central midfielder.

Ronaldo was outstanding, this 19 yr old kid was pulling out training ground piss takes in an FA cup final for fecks sake !! Giggs again proved the doubters wrong , all true Mancs know Ryan is a Utd legend

Two words for Millwall = Comprehensively Beaten.United are just a class above them in so many ways. But props to them for reaching the final where teams like Arsenal,Liverpool and Newcastle cant, they are going to europe for all their hard work.Ronaldo, again, proving that he is such an asset to United for so many years to come.Fletcher was good today but had a few games better than this.It was such a focused game for everyone today cos they cant bear to lose.Congrats to first-time FA cup medal winners for the likes of Ronaldo,Howard,Fletcher and Ruud just to name a few.Ole!!!

EXACTLY. Giggs on the left, Ronaldo on the right, BIG surprises next season.
Anyone notice how they sometimes switch positions, or how one of them will join the other on his side of the field, they play great together.

Excellent Manutd display
Dennis Wise was an absolute disgrace and should have been sent off!!
Utd could have scored a few more but showed respect to Millwall and just kept it cool.
Milwall looked like moaners in the interviews as well particularly wise who was moaning on about the last goal being offside then the TV Panel showed he was ONSIDE!! for a fact!!
Utd showed their class and praised Milwall

Ronaldo was superb and showed some great skills

lets not get to carried away boys you beat a first division team 3-0! congrats and all that but i think your just going a bit ott against a team you were expected to beat anyway!

a good professional performance today-well pleased :)
was gutted when the keeper somehow managed to save keano's shot-thought that was in!
well done to millwall for getting to the final and into europe.

gotta say Ronaldo is developing into some player!!, as we always said he would!

The is a difference in class you moron but that probably comes from the diff in divisions.

Also can you lot stop moaning about Wise, thats what he does, he's always done it and he's good at it.

Wise is the same as Keane used to be

Yeah, but Keane could actually play football very well.
Still, shouldn't get wound up by Wise it's what you expect from him. Can't let him ruin a great day for the club, excellent all round.

I quite like Wisey, big big heart for a little man, as an england fan i wish Heskey had the bottle Dennis does. And yes we were expected to win to day, which heaped pressure on us to do so.

Funny after Wise got booked the stupid T**T actually started playing some decent football!!

Mind you I particularly liked his hokey cokey kick at thin air after Ronaldo ran past him to head in the opening goal.

And by BTW he is not that good at it as 1.He got booked , 2. No Man U player got booked
3. He lost!!

It was a cup final for fucks sake

Dennis Wise was a little pest though through the game, what was he doing when he was grabbing scholes ?

Ronaldo's skills are something special, especially that 360 what he did (in a cup final!!!!) Plus Ruuds penalty was back up to his standards and his goals was true ruud. just onside aswell
