How 'bout Becks' book. He says that he went for Fergie, but Ruud and Giggs held him back. O_O'
I somehow don't think Becks is the fighting kinda guy.

Well people inside OT say otherwise.

One of the reasons Becks was sold was because of the negative influence he was having on the team, players we're sick of him having to make "special" arrangments whenever they travelled and as well as the team did, people only seem to ask Fergie about Becks.

The provebial straw came at that seasons xmas do, the players are split into sections, the spanish speaking players usually get a table, the irish lads get their own table etc etc, well it got to the point where Beckham had started sitting with his entourage instead of his teammates and it caused resentment.

It is said that Becks and Giggs got into it ater the game (remember Giggsy's awful miss) and had to be split up, rather than let the world know of problems within the team Fergie took the heat.

This makes sense when you see how dismissive Fergie was of the whole incident and didnt make a big deal about apologizing cos he and everyone knew he had nothing to say sorry for.

Of course no-one but the people present know what really went on but everyone I know involved with the club says this happened and its not as hard to beleive as Fergie curling a boot 10 yards on to Beckhams head, if you'd seen him play you'd know what I mean :)

I've heard bout this before...apparently,something happened between Giggs and Beckham in the dressing room.I heard Beckham blasted Giggs about that miss and the lad couldnt take it anymore and sucker punched the bloke or sumthin...hahahaha...Fergie took the blame then cos he is the manager and ultimately in the eyes of the public, whatever decisions he made,it was his.Keep the club secrets within the club and thats very important.Fergie sees an opportunity to get rid of the bad influences and hence the Beckham sacking, simple as that.

bollocks!!!

Thats the whole point!...two stories came out,one was everywhere "Beckham Struck By Boot From Fergie" the 'official' story and the other one just like Van's and my story...we dont know which is true unless we wait like 10 years from now until the current batch retires and one definitely would wrote a book and spill it all....again!!

do you lot reckon that leeds lover alan smith will be at old trafford soon, according to bbc the 8Million deal is close.

Smith close to Man Utd move

I dont think that Alan Smith would be a good signing for Manchester United. Hes young yes, i know but i dont think that he has that much potential. They should try sign another striker and definitely a central defender in the summer.

Alan Smith ... he struggles to get into double figures, even when Leeds were doing well. Seems very likely he'll sign, unless a good offer from abroad comes in. I'd prefer the money be spent on a quality midfield replacement for Keano.

Apparently, we've been linked with PSG centre back Gabriel Heinze for £6million. Now, that'd be a great signing. It'd allow Silvestre to move to left back, and Rio to come back and partner Heinze when his suspension has been lifted.

What about Bernard Mendy? This guy had a spell with Bolton and was explosive in FIFA's Centenary match. We are also linked to Julio 'The Beast 'Baptista from Seville, the man who replaced Reyes and has score some cracking goals.Big,strong in the air, shoot with both foot and takes penalties too.

United get £6m Smith
Alan Smith is on the verge of a £6million move to Manchester United. The Old Trafford giants look certain to land the Leeds striker — despite refusing to get involved in a bidding war. Everton yesterday joined the chase for Smith, 23, by offering £7m. Liverpool are understood to have raised their £5.5m offer by £2m and Middlesbrough also entered the fray at £7m. But United boss Alex Ferguson, who had offers of £3.5m and £5.5m rejected, is sitting tight because he knows Smith wants to go to Old Trafford. A United insider told SunSport: "United made a fair offer and know the player wants to join. Leeds have to sell him and presumably he will only go where he wants to go, otherwise he will stay at Elland Road."

Fergie Signz Heinze
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Fergusn has clinched a £6million deal for Argentina defender Gabriel Heinze. The Paris St Germain centre-back is a no-nonsense hard-man in the style of Jaap Stam and is the surprise solution to United's problems in defence. The 26-year-old who has just broken into his national team but also has a German passsport, is expected to complete the move within days.

Smith Wants To Sign For Fergie
Alan Smith is on a collision course with Leeds over his desire to join Manchester United. United are still Smith's preferred destination, even though Leeds have rejected bids of £3.5million and £5.5m from the FA Cup finalists. Leeds claim they want closer to £10m for the England international, but the Old Trafford club are reluctant to go much higher than £7m. The relegated Yorkshire club will not sell to United when they have three bids over £5.5m on the table from Middlesbrough, Birmingham and Newcastle, while Liverpool have stepped up their interest in him and Auxerre midfielder Phillippe Mexes.

Anybody ever seen Mr. Heinze play?
I'm pretty happy that we got an Argentine on the team, one step closer to getting Batigol perhaps?

No, I'm dreaming :D
It was always my dream he'd come to Manchester, and if he's still playing in Qatar then there's potential.

And I actually like Veron alot, even though he wasn't completely successful.

so has heinze definatly signed then ?

i used to think smith wasnt all too good, but hopefully him playing with better players rather than he is at leeds he will get better, learn things from players like - giggs, keane, scholes etc

I dunno about smith i think he has only scored more goal than bookings one.and he has only got into double figures ones.

At least he's better than any of our current back up forwards,Forlan,Bellion and maybe on par with Solskjaer. So its definitely a good buy for Fergie...oh yah he could have his number 17 too,its available.

Well hope he doesn't start bitching when he doesn't get to play every game. He isn't as good Saha IMO, who complements Ruud's playing.

I prefer him to Saha to be honest. I think he'd be a great signing as well, just the type of player United need at the moment. You'll get 100% whether we're playing Arsenal or Aldershot.

surely he wont move to United to play as a reserve? theres no way hes gonna play before Saha or Ruud?
could this mean the end for Ruud?

In a word......No.

If we'd have bought Trezeguet then maybe, but Smith isn't any Van Nistelrooy.

true, but why would Smith move to manyoo to play second fiddle? the reason he's leaving is to play regular football.

and if they HAVE promised him regular football i wonder what Saha and Ruud have to say? if they sign him one of the three isnt going to get a regular pllace which HAS to mean the door for Solskjaer and / or Bellion and / or forlan

I think Forlan will go in the summer and I see Bellion as more of a winger. As for Saha, 3rd choice striker shouldn't be a problem at a club the size of United. He'd still play plenty of games in a season, what with Fergusons crazy squad rotation at times as well.

I agree with Saha being the one to be dropped, but he HAS been scoring goals since he's came.

According to the Mirror, Heinze has been bought for £6 million.

Anyway...Cardiff tomorrow lads :D

I really don't agree with Saha being dropped for Smith. Although I do think that Smith is very good, Saha IMO is better. Even before we got Saha, I thought he was doing better than Smith.
Anyway, I'd assume that Smith is going to be 3rd choice. Solskjaer probably won't leave, but he still has to recover. And I don't see a problem with Ole finding a first team spot with him playing both as a right winger and a striker.
