Yeah Gerrard is better than Lampard, they're both great talents though. A couple more years playing like this and you can say he's better than Vieira too. It's unfair to compare him to Pires though, totally different players. On individual talent though, I'd say he was better than all of them.
 
Well quite...........I mean how many times does pires win a crunching 50/50 tackle!!??!!........Does he ever tackle????

He ain't a midfielder in the pure sense.

gerrard is DEFINATLY up there with the top midfielders, his work rate is brilliant,

he best perform like this for england :D
 
i think Gerrard and Lampard are too different.

Gerrard is more defensive and Lampard is always up with the strikers, its abit hard to compare their strenghts.

Gerrard is a DM an OM and a winger.

This is what makes him special
 
I agree with Milanista. Lampard always gets his chances at goal, he's always there at the right place at the right time. He's a huge threat from long range, I hardly see him not a hit shot off target.

Gerrard isn't as offensive as Lampard, he's more of an overall midfielder but not as good in attacking, IMO. He sure does have much better passes, though.

I just love a midfielder that can score loads of goals.

Well yes...Gerrard has more strings to his bow than chubby frank. Gerrard is more complete. I repeat...... Lampard can't tackle and has no pace and power.

gerrard is better IMO, but lamps is not far behind him now - both have been fantastic this seaon
 
Hahahaha,nice debate there and as stiffler says,this is a United thread.Anyways,its true what some of you said,Gerrard and Lampard are two completely different players.If you want to compare Gerrard,you compare him to the likes of Keane,Vieira and Makelele.You compare Lampard with the likes of Scholes,Zidane and Rui Costa.DMF with a DMF,OM with an OM.....
 
It is funny because he is not the best. He is one of the best. But calling him the best isnt real. What about Scott Parker man, he won young player of the season, so i would not mess with him either.

Well peeps one more game to go and like most United supporters I'm sure, even if we win the FA Cup, that we're gonna want to forget this season and look forward to next year...

I do take positives from this season though, Howard, Saha, Ronaldo and Fletcher have injected youth back into the team, plus Brown is getting back to form...

So there is a lot to look forward to, everyone is talking about Gerrard and Lampard but I think Fletcher is gonna take over from Keano in the next couple of years and with respect to both of the players mentioned they wont be as loyal to Fergie as young Fletch is.

What else...

Even thoigh its been one of our worst years the support has been fantastic this season, but the biggest mention has to go to our support at the semi final, it was down to us to defend Our Treble and we did!! If ever there was an indication as to what seperates us from arsenal, it was that day, we could have sold out the ground twice (seen as though arsenal couldnt sell theres, 60K stadium, your having a laugh) and considering at the time they reckoned they could bag The Treble, the support they offered to thier team was pitiful.

We've not had alot to shout about this year, but that brings out the best in us and i'm itching for august already...

So all you Reds, enjoy Saturday, its our second cup final in two years and if we play like we did on saturday we should keep up our record of the most FA Cups...

C'mon!!!!
 
Official reports from ManUtd.Com stating that Fergie has made Liverpool's Steven Gerrard his long term target.Fergie cant see anyone replacing Roy Keane except for Gerrard,not even Patrick Vieira.This future transfer will also ensure Manchester United will be up there among the top 3 club in England for many years to come and long after Ferie's reign.Houllier said that this transfer is not impossible but will be difficult to pull off,because of United's enormous money bank.

Indeed. Leeds overrate Smith too much.

I'd really surprised if they did get Gerrard next season. I'd also be very very happy.
 
Vanni, since you seem to be very knoledgable in all things Man Utd, do you mind if I ask you something that has been in the back of my mind for awhile.

Why in the world did Yaap Staam write all that nasty stuff about Fergie and the team in his book? Isn't that supposed to be bad for his career? And do you guys think that what he wrote was true (that Fergsun tells his players to dive and cheat and eat babies).

Well to be honest mate, I didnt read Stams book.

I remember at the time is was reported that the problems came from Stam saying that Fergie "tapped him up" but as for the other stuff its the first I've heard.

And as for "eating babies" a few Arsenal players have the monopoly on that one ;) :D
 
The whole situation was down to Stam's stupidity.He shouldnt have spilled out the club's secret in that pathetic book of his.Its almost dumbproof that nobody should do that.Say if you are married with the girl of your dreams would you spill all your past woman conquests and affairs in a book that you wrote? Stam knew he had made a mistake and left without any sqaubbles,its almost mutual.Same thing nearly happened to Keano a few months back but being Keano,he was let off.About the tapping of players,it is well known that it happens everywhere I believe.Its all down to the PLC to keep it within the club.
 
How 'bout Becks' book. He says that he went for Fergie, but Ruud and Giggs held him back. O_O'
I somehow don't think Becks is the fighting kinda guy.
