Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Its fake...Away kit for the next season will be black. Its the same template as the new home but with red V across the chest...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Well they were obviously taken weeks ago before he left.

They werent exactly 'taken'...those preview pics were actually our current kit and they were photoshopped...its the 'in' thing with nike and adidas in promoting new kits for clubs they supplied gear for....The latest pics where they were 'darkened' featuring Rio,Wayne and Park are real shots taken with our new home kit.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Sir Alex Ferguson has offered Manchester United's Portuguese winger Nani to Wigan as bait in his bid to sign Ecuador winger Antonio Valencia. (Daily Mirror)

Our new kits are showing on Kitbag this morning:

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yup,its all over now, even on our official site.I do not know why the rushed it,official unveiling should be on July 1st...sales starts on July 16th.the design is good enough for me,definitely better than last season. That black chevron looks mean. The last time we had red and black as the main colours on our home kit was the very first Nike kit we had in 2002-2004.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Nah I think he may be onto something there, it was in the Daily Mirror afterall.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Well the shirts are usually for every 2 seasons arent they, but I suppose there is the chance they might make a new one for next season 'cos of the new sponser

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeah they may do but bar 06/07 we've had our home kits on a 2 year cycle since the early 80s. Also they've retained away kits but changed sponsors when we went from Sharp to vodafone (white with navy bits) and also when we went from vodafone to AIG (blue with red bits).

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I thought nowadays teams have to date them (probably because of parents paying out and not knowing a new one was due out)?
If that's the case our new kits are changing for the 10/11 season along with the sponsor, as the new ones are dated just for the 09/10 season. It'd make sense as Aon surely would prefer not to see many fans still brandishing the AIG logo in their first year.

When AIG became our sponsor only the 3rd kit didn't change (which was our away strip from the previous year), but we didn't wear it that often so it didn't matter too much.

Chelsea seem to be the worst offenders lately. How many consectutive seasons have they changed every kit?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Everyone seems to be having a new shirt every season nowadays, its appalling for the consumer.

I'd be willing to bet that we get a new design for next season based on Nike's new template for the WC next year.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeah it does hurt a bit reading that. I mean, we knew it was gonna happen but reading that made it feel like someone only just broke the news about the transfer to me.
Oh well. That's him tied down for the next 6 years of his life. I'd like to say I hope he enjoys his stay there but I'd be lying. In the end, I just tell myself that in a few years, I'm sure he'll miss us more than we miss him.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

You've had your turn. Give us a go now.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

How funny would it be if Madrid get knocked out of the group stages :) (then again I'm sure Platini will ensure their group consists of exclusively of teams from countries with less than a million inhabitants, who have never won a CL game in their history)

Am beginning to think we're in for a long Benzema summer. Only thing that makes sense to me. Aulas or whatever his name is a beast of a negotiator. Essien, Diarra, loads of others. Sigh.

Friendlies start up in 3 weeks...yay!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Im not sure we've put a bid in mate. I think were interested but only SAF will know what the chances of Benzema moving this summer are and what Lyon are asking for is acceptable.

Know that we've got the money from Ronaldo's transfer we'll start to hear more whispers.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Who our next signing should be is always a topic brought up when we have footy talks with my mates. One of them mentioned an Italian midfielder from Juventus, Sebastian Giovinco.
Google him if you havent heard of him. He looks pretty good. Maybe some of the Serie A viewers here can give us more insight on the kid.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

We just need another star. It doesnt have to be a winger. I know I might be jumping ahead of myself here a little bit but he looks like someone who isnt on anyone's radar (yet anyway) and he seems to have that sparkle even some great players dont have. He really looks like someone who can blossom under the right guidance if he's anything as good as what my mate (who watched him in the U21s recently) and youtube videos make him out to be.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Well he's been really good at the u21 tourney, so he'll have enhanced his status there but he doesn't get many games for Juve which is why he's probably not linked with other big teams. There was a discussion on him in the Serie A thread a couple of weeks ago actually. The fact that the tabloids aren't mentioning him just shows their ignorance really.
