Huh? Where you hear that from? Lets look at the more imminent signing of Valencia. I think its safe to say its a done deal IMO. He's a upgrade on Park IMO, has great work ethic but with a lot more quality going forward. I hope we don't get stupid people comparing him to Ronaldo. He's not his replacement.

they haven`t won it since the change the name to Premier league so, them winning it now will be a massive victory for them and fans

Well they haven't won it since 89 but nearly right Jonney.

I think Valencia's a good signing, he is an upgrade on Jason Park like you said and if he can work on his final ball etc I think he'll do well. I remember when we were linked with him and Palacios just before the final game of 07/08 when we had to beat Wigan and everyone thought it was bullshit to put them off their game! I guess not!!

More rumours coming out from Lyon players that Benzema deal is on...not sure I understand how our formation would work if it's true, unless someone is willing to be benched of Rooney/Benzema/Berbatov...particularly as we've just acquired a wide player in Valencia (?)

Unless he's a luxury - used when we play 4-3-3 and not when we're in a 4-4-2. Which seems a gargantuan waste to me.

Then again, how tasty does this look:

Valencia is expected to be a direct replacement for Ronaldo on the right-hand side... for :CONFUSE: WHO? that is a very ambitious statement tbh

Nobody from United has said that have they?

The only quotes from SAF I've seen are “Antonio is a player we have admired for some time now, having spent the last two years in the Premier League with Wigan. I am sure his pace and ability will make a significant contribution to the team.”

No mention of Ronaldo.

I'm going to get flamed, but I think berbatov is a lot like ibrahimovic. Tall, strong, good feet/technique and lazy with bad attitudes on the pitch but not off the pitch. And I like it!

I don't want Benzema this season.

I want an agreement Ronaldo-style for next season, regardless of how well he plays this year/at the world cup.

He wants to stay at Lyon for one more year so we should definitely let him, hopefully he then has a great year and is ready to take on the Prem and play for us 2010/11.

Didnt Benzema just have a shite season ?

If he found it hard going in the French league last season, then the English league will be tough for him! I wouldnt jump straight into this transfer at all

He scored 17 times I think in the league, but that was down to Lyon themselves having a shite season.

He had a shite Euro 2008 as well admittedly, but he scared the shit out of me when they played us in the CL in 08.

He had a amazing 07/08 scoring 31 in total but then had a somewhat below par season but still managed to bag 17 league goals last year. (reminds me of someone;))) I think we need to cover 20-30 goals and Benzema would be one hell of a player to get to do it. (and yes he would be Ronaldo's replacement)

Thing is Matherto you NEED a minimum of 3 established strikers when your going to play 2 upfront like we do. Imagine if Berbatov or more likely Rooney get injured for a month. Welbeck and Macheda aren't experienced enough to carry the teams goals for a long period like that.

Always nice to see a player picking us over Real Madrid (assuming Madrid actually made an offer of any kind).

Especially a latin one as well.
