they would need to score 27 goals in the next 2 games to beat our 97. (which they won't)

they need to score +8 in the next 2 games to beat our +52 GD. (which they won't)

Arsenal are the best team in England, they are all that.

Its nice to see the Gaffer comes up to console the players like that,it just shows that he knew that the players tried hard to play for the fans and play for him even though there is nothing left to play for except for the FA Cup.Now I would think that the players will play with all their heart to bring back the FA cup to OT,just to add a little shine to the season. As my signature goes,8 out 12 is STILL superb.Bear in mind that,no team has ever retained the Premiership title other than us,everytime another team wins it,we go on and grab it again the next season and I hope this pattern will continue.New season next and hopefully new players and new zest.United All The Way.

Transfer News from various papers at Man Utd.com

Move over Ruud
Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson has already lined up the players he wants to replace Ruud van Nistelrooy - because he knows that his board have to sell the Dutch star. Sir Alex is planning a £30m double transfer bid for England hitmen Wayne Rooney and Alan Smith as Real Madrid close in on van Nistelrooy. Despite denials from Old Trafford that van Nistelrooy is on the move, Ferguson knows that the Old Trafford plc board can not afford to turn down the £40m offer for the 27-year-old striker which is being prepared by the Spanish giants. Now Ferguson is ready to strike back with a couple of adventurous transfer forays of his own in going for Everton teenager Rooney and Leeds star Smith.

Fergie a Drog dealer
Manchester United have launched an all-out £14million bid for Marseille superstar Didier Drogba. Sir Alex Ferguson has had his sights on the 25-year-old African for months and Drogba's two-goal show to destroy Newcastle and sweep Marseille to the UEFA Cup Final merely confirmed his creative talents. Approaches have already been made by United and they are now embroiled in a cat-and-mouse game with Marseille, who won't be able to resist the huge money on offer for the French Footballer of the Year. His 19 goals have been impressive but it's his creative ability that has caught Fergie's eye. The United boss privately admits he still needs more pace and creativity among his attacking players - and after missing out on Ronaldinho last summer Drogba is now a top target.

Fergie blocked in Torres swoop
Sir Alex Ferguson has been snubbed in his bid to sign Spanish whizz-kid Fernando Torres. Manchester United boss Ferguson wanted Torres, 18, to spearhead his Premiership charge next season. He was the target of a failed £12m bid by United last month. Athletico Madrid have revealed that United have returned with a second offer - believed to be in the region of £15m - which has also been rejected out of hand. Athletico president Enrique Cerez blasted: "They can keep on knocking but we will continue to leave it shut."

yeah I reckon next season we'll be challenging and as history shows the goons dont handle a challenge that well, they usually bottle it...

but thats next season!!

we've got a final to look forward to so let the goons enjoy their glory and hopefully by the end of May22 we'll be enjoying our own!!

C'mon!!!

I do find it quite amazing that last year all the Mancs we taking the p1ss cos we lost the league and only had the FA Cup to play for. Now the boot is on the other foot you Mancs are going mad for a competition 4 years ago you couldn't be arsed to enter. Double standards!!

Look how crazy looking that nuthead-monkey faced-Keown is...Ruud takes is as if he's not there!! Class, yea you lot won it,yesterday's news...roll over August.

FFS

whats amazing about it?

This season has been bad for the fans. the rio saga, fergies off field probs all the takeover speculation and of course having to put up with a style of football alot of us forgot existed.

plus we've had our shittest season in over a decade, why shouldnt we look forward to the possibility of keeping our amazing run of trophies.

compare that to you lot last season and its a different story.

The media had you's believing you had won the league by xmas, the arrogance from the club was beyond belief and you could tell that the FA Cup wasnt the trophy the club and fans thought they'd get.

Saw this on the BBC site so thought i'd post it. There has been a lot of Gooners a little bit upset after our treble dream died so I thought I would try and cheer everyone up. These stats rock:

Require a maximum nine more points (three wins, or two wins and three draws) from their six remaining games to be assured of a 13th English League Championship title.

Can afford to drop half of their 18 remaining available points and still lift the silverware.

With six to go, already amassed 78 points - the tally accumulated in total last season and in three of the eight campaigns since there's been a 20-club Premier League.

Won 23 and drawn nine in the Premiership this season.

Won 25 and drawn nine in the Premiership since going down 2-3 at home to Leeds on 4 May.

Lost just twice in 53 Premiership matches, winning 35 of them.

Dropped only 18 points so far. The least a title winning side has dropped in a 20-club Premiership is 23, the most 39.

The only remaining unbeaten club in the English League.

The Premiership's most winning team (23 matches - 13 of them at home), with the strongest attack (62 goals in 32 games), and the meanest defence (22 goals conceded).

Already 'doubled' Middlesbrough, Aston Villa, Manchester City, Wolves, Southampton, Chelsea, Blackburn and Liverpool.

Undefeated in 17 home League games (16 this season).

Won 14 and drawn three (13 wins, three draws this season) at Highbury since losing to Leeds almost a year ago.

Failed to score in only three Premiership games this term - fewer than any other club.

Failed to find the net in a League game at Highbury only once - the goalless draw with Fulham on 30 November.

Scored in 104 of the last 109 Premiership matches.

Achieved the longest winning run by any club in the top division this season (nine matches).

Won nine of 32 League games this season by a 2-1 margin.

Ahh thats the spirit when all else fails roll out the stats...

Firstly, what "amazing run of trophies?". You don't win something every season. If you did, that would be amazing, but you don't.

Secondly, what arrogance of the club?? No-one ever said last season we would win the league or go unbeaten, Wenger only said it was possible. The events of this season look like proving him correct.

Thirdly, winning the FA Cup in Cardiff is bloody brilliant (after all we have done it twice). Its a great piss up and a brilliant stadium to parade the cup around. Not that you have experienced that yet!!

lol so the 8 prem titles, 3 FA Cups (so far) 1 European Cup over a 12 year period isnt an amazing run of trophies feck me that makes your 3 titles and FA cups in the same period, possitvely....

Shite!!!

As for the arrogance, well when they came on at OT saluting the crowd, it was a bit much, to me it looked like arrogance, but to be fair they left the field well beaten with tails between the legs...

And im sure winning it a cardiff is great, I saw us win it in your backyard enough to know how good it is, we've won the thing more than anyone else.

Anyway the point was that your comparing the two teams and the supporters in different circumstances.

This year we've been shite and just not good enough by our own illustrious standards, hence us being glad to be in a final....
