Fifa wanted 12 months and thats why the FA applied for 12 month ban but the panel rejectd it!

yeah and if fifa are really that against man united they'll go to court or something to extend the ban, but i cant see that happening, can you?

It was on sky sports mate i am jus thinking that why would Fifa want 12 months then the FA apply for the 12 month ban when thay had the chance to give 12 months in the first place? does not add up???????

Art. 63 Interfering with a doping test/Undermining the effectiveness of doping tests

2 If a player fails to appear for a doping test in compliance with the FIFA regulations in force or if he refuses to undergo a test, he will be sanctioned as if he had been tested positive as set out in art. 62 par. 1 b).
Art. 62 Sanctions

1
b) 2nd infringement (two (2) infringements within five (5) years – decisive dates: tests): suspension of at least twelve (12) months from all matches at every level and a minimum fine of CHF 15,000;

http://images.fifa.com/organisation/Discplinary_Code_FDC-E.pdf

The rules clearly state that if you miss a drug test, then that is as serious as failing one for the second time in five years.

These are the sanctions for failing a drug test for the first time:

Art. 62 Sanctions

1
Sanctions imposed on a player who is guilty of doping (cf. art. 60) depend on the element of danger and on the quantity detected of the substances in question and whether the infringement has been repeated:
a) 1st infringement: suspension of at least six (6) months from all matches at every level and a minimum fine of CHF 10,000;

So obviously it is better to fail a drug test like Stam, Davids, Kallon and co. rather than miss one like Rio. It looks as if Rio got off really lightly, 4 months less than the minimum suspension. He can count himself very lucky because only 8 months is a disgrace really.

T ochange the subject as everyone has known for years now Clive 'I love Man Utd' Tyldesley has finally admitted to a red devil. About bloody time, maybe they'll stop his biased commentary on Utd games. Whilst they're at it they can dump Alan Green from radio five live for the same bloody reason.

Proof At Last
Writes Mediawatch's old chum Clive Tyldesley in his column for The Telegraph:

'The only time I ever wore a jacket and tie to a football match as a fan was at Millwall in 1974. A recently relegated Manchester United played a Monday night game at The Den to which visiting supporters were not invited. I watched in disguise and in respectful silence as my team (the secret is out!) won with a dubious penalty'

Mediawatch doesn't know whether to be more surprised that Clive - 'Oh, that night in Barcelona' - believes his allegiance was still a secret or that even in the old days ManYoo were winning dubious penalties.

I am fed up with this stuff about Rio. Let's change the subject...

Who should we buy this summer? (NB: this is what you think, not what you have heard rumoured)

Who will leave this summer? Giggsy? Keano? No one?

Will we win anything this year?

i think that fergie should get a defender maybe mexes

also a midfielder, whats diego really like cos ive never seen him play ? or what about - D Allesandro, Van der Vaart, Sneijder

get shut of forlan, yes he can be good at times but it doesnt happen regulary.

Also what about todays line up no howard, solskjaer on right wing, and forlan i hope he what i just said abot him can change today

Man Utd 3 - 0 Tottenham FT

Bellion (goal 90') comes on and scores after a matter of minutes...magic. Other scorers Giggs 30' and Ronaldo 89'.

3 nice goals.
The wind kinda ruined the game, though. ](*,)

You try playing on a open bloody field. I got lobbed from the half way line today cause of the bloody wind!!!!!!

Ha! Lousy one!

I saw a thing on teletext about Van Nistelrooij suggesting that we sign Rafael Van Der Vaart. He thinks he will score loads more with him in midfield supplying the ammunition. I think he could well be right!

BTW, those were three great goals. I especially like Giggsy's for the sheer cheek of it. He is out to prove his critics wrong!

Van der Vaart n i honestly think Forsell he would come to us because he would get games and we need 4 strikers get rid of Forlan he is SHIT!

unless you spend nigh on 50 million i would say you arent in with a shout of winning the CL

Wot you guys think of buying Forsell? He probably wont but no one can doubt the quality he is showing at a non fashionable team like Birmingham!

its not a striker you need imo
ruud, saha and solkjaer is enough for any team
a top class centre back and a brilliant midfielder are your priorities
and by top class i mean world class, not going out and buying another kleberson world cup winner

I agree but you need 4 good strikers just in case 1 gets a injury and especially when one plays wide right!

if MU doesnt win the CL next season..at least they should have a silverware coze this season sux for manutd

What if they don't! You wont support them?

You speak to a real Man Utd fan and they wont think 2 seasons without a trophy is a nightmare. Most tams find their domination comes to end. Liverpool fans in the 80's will tell you that!

Exactly it wont be the end of the world.

I'll admitt anything less then a proper crack at the title every season and being involved in Europe would take me some time getting used to but I'm not gonna top myself if we dont win a trophy every year, in fact I'd go as far to say that if you'd seen what I'd seen you wouldnt be arsed if we never won another trophy!!

why would you say that? Rio will be back in september, before he was banned our defense was CLASS, arsenal didnt do SHITE when they came to old trafford, Rio was/is the missing peice in defence, adding another center back will certainly bolster the D, but having Rio back will be enough
to be tops in england and possibly in europe, havent we only had one shutout since rio was bannend, and something like 14 while he was playing........ that is pretty telling

with rio in your team imo you still arent capable of winning the CL
you lack the class of Milan and the Style of Madrid imo

howdy fellas spurs fan here

i was at the game saturday, i thought u guys deserved to win but not by 3. up untill the 88th min i honestly thought we were pushing for the equaliser but oh well. you had the edge upfront during the game but i hardly thought u dominated us or anything like that. is the atmosphere always that poor at ot ?? what did u guys (who went to the game) think of the spurs fans ?

to add to the general utd thread i personally thought solksjaer made quite a big differance from what iv seen of you on tv (which is basically every single one of ur games in some form or another thanks to sky and itv :x ). i think people forget how important he was for you towards the back end of last season and perhaps his downfall has played a bigger contribution in ur 'downfall'/'lapse' than people have suspected. u can bet if his equivelent at arsenal was injured (say ljunberg) they would certainly be making a lot of noise about it  .

the one player who i reckon who would really be a revalation for you is gerrard. on the face of it it seems as if you may struggle to draw in a player of that quality now (??) but that would be some team if u managed to get him, van der vaart and a half decent defender.
anyway good luck in the semis guys
