Manchester United Thread

now, thats what i would call a true blue fan, thanks mate.Rio would be back by september, anyway we should add another defender to our squad,a non star player like Andrade would be suitable or Paolo Ferreira.Liam Miller should be moulded into a red devil in no time and again I say we should have 4 forwards and ditch Forlan.

Let's say Paulo Ferreira comes to Old Trafford, where would Gary be playing? If we buy one more central defender, where would Silvestre be playing? On the left? I don't really think we need a central defender since the partnership of Silvestre and Ferdinand is probably one of the best in the world. :mryellow:

howdy fellas spurs fan here

i was at the game saturday, i thought u guys deserved to win but not by 3. up untill the 88th min i honestly thought we were pushing for the equaliser but oh well. you had the edge upfront during the game but i hardly thought u dominated us or anything like that. is the atmosphere always that poor at ot ?? what did u guys (who went to the game) think of the spurs fans ?

to add to the general utd thread i personally thought solksjaer made quite a big differance from what iv seen of you on tv (which is basically every single one of ur games in some form or another thanks to sky and itv :x ). i think people forget how important he was for you towards the back end of last season and perhaps his downfall has played a bigger contribution in ur 'downfall'/'lapse' than people have suspected. u can bet if his equivelent at arsenal was injured (say ljunberg) they would certainly be making a lot of noise about it  .

the one player who i reckon who would really be a revalation for you is gerrard. on the face of it it seems as if you may struggle to draw in a player of that quality now (??) but that would be some team if u managed to get him, van der vaart and a half decent defender.
anyway good luck in the semis guys

Was that your first time at OT??

Hope you wasnt one of the spurs fans getting done in after the game!!

I felt we just did enough on Saturday, you could tell we we're nervous after recent results and even scoring first didnt put us at ease, tbh mate I thought spurs were pretty poor considering some of their recent results.

Good point on Ole alot of people seem to forget him being injured all season has magnified the loss of Beckham, he still isnt back to his best but he is improving, the big difference was Giggsy just hope he carries it over to the games against the goons.

Funny but I was saying to a blue mate of mine that I'd love for us to get Gerrard as a replacement for Keano, dont agree that we cant attract a player of his caliber but the liverpool connection would make it pretty impossible to lure him down the east lancs road.

gotta mention city, after a week of pure bullshit, what do they go and do,

LOSE!!

LOL!!! Just makes the 4-1 win against us pointless...

I can here the chants now...

"4-1, And you still went down, 4-1, and you a stil went down"

with rio in your team imo you still arent capable of winning the CL
you lack the class of Milan and the Style of Madrid imo

disagree with you there mate last years final showed that you dont need either class or skill to win a final..

and thats on any level, the attacking play was poor the defensive display was stiffling and the penalty takers were terrible.

last years final was a brilliant display of defensive football, not exciting i agree.
defensively your miles apart from milan in that department, as are most teams

fair enough, but being good defensvley doesnt mean you have class.

Apart from Madrid on their day the rest of europes big clubs are evenly matched IMO.

Again last years final and eventual winners showed that by being two of the poorest teams to qualify for the knockouts.

You mean Milan?
to call Milan one of the poorest teams in the knockouts is ridicolous mate, they have class in every position

you misunderstood or I mis-typed, Juve and Milan had the poorest record of teams to qualify from the group stages.

All im saying is that last season, class and skill had no bearing in the final, fair enough if you appreciate the defending aspect of the game over everything else, but in that case we could say the likes of Boro are a classy outfit.

So as I said , to me, other that Madrid on their day everybody else is pretty evenly matched, as this years knockouts are showing.

I like Arsenal but i want2 c Madrid v Milan as well will be good to see who is the best in Europe!

no iv been up once before with a mate whos a utd fan but it was against blackburn, the atmo was better for that game. i heard a few police vans but i didnt realise it kicked off after the game, was it quite bad ?. thats quite lucky cus me and my mate were litterally the only spurs fans at trafford bar station so if there were any nutters there we would have been a bit buggered.

you should never be surprised at spurs being poor away, wev litterally never been able to play away from home since the begining of the prem unfortunatly. as far as our away form goes that was a pretty good performance but as you can see our midfield is painfully poor as a unit and against ur lot were well exposed. even when we win now its mainly thanks to people like keane and davies carring half the team rather than any great team performances.

dont get me wrong i think u can still get in players of gerrards quality but a few years ago im sure if you had shown an interest a player like him would have jumped at the chance to join utd where as it may not be so cut and dry now.

4-1 against depor must have been a fluke then ;)
for me, milan just proved they are the best team in europe
i would LOVE to see Milan v Madrid final

United want Duff
Alex Ferguson wants to cash in on the uncertainty at Chelsea by nicking Damien Duff this summer. Manchester United boss Fergie is ready to launch a massive spending spree after a catastrophic campaign. And Republic of Ireland winger Duff, 25, will be his top target to replace Ryan Giggs for next season. Fergie is also ready to match the £17million that Chelsea paid to Blackburn for Duff last summer.

Duff was 'backstabbed' by Chelsea when they signed Robben and this could open this transfer move to us.I'd like to see J.Cole playin for us too.

Hahaha, chill out..Giggs aint a midfielder anyway...he's a winger by trade, ever heard the phrase "Giggs, the Welsh Wing Wizard"?..anyways,i think you misread that part..its not as if Duff will be an immediate replacement,Giggs is already what,31 now,so it will be apt to bring in a new guy to be nutured to play his position, and he needs at least a season to settle down.I felt,we should have bought Duff for this season,he's maaaasive!

haha I knew you'd reference this, Milan we're good for that 10 min spell but other than that Depor had plenty of oppurtunities to take control of the tie and in the first half of the first half (??) I thought Depor would piss it tbh.

its gonna be Madrid or Arsenal v Milan final imo
both matches will be fantastic

All you man u fans hoping duff will be comin to you! 'your havin a larf aint ya!' Good ol' southern accent there.

See......

Damien Duff's advisor Pat Devlin has rubbished reports linking the Chelsea ace with a move to Manchester United in the summer.

Duff's representative Pat Devlin has dismissed the link with United and insists the skilful winger is happy at Chelsea.

"It is just pure speculation," Devlin told skysports.com

"It's also a bit of a distraction as Damien is only thinking about playing against Arsenal tomorrow (Wednesday).

"As they say you never know in football, but as far as I am concerned he is extremely happy at Chelsea.

"He has a four-year contract and he is happy with things at Chelsea."

and also, robben plays on the right, have u seen duff play on the right alot this year? no i dont think so, we've jus got that twat gronkjaer on the right.

So sory to rain on your parade, duff is blue and will be for the rest of his contract!! WOOOOOOOOOO!

I never said he couldnt, but im jus saying if robben is on the right then it isnt really that much of a backstab is it? Robben (apart from his speed) is not a touch on duff, no where near, y would chelsea sell him to one of their biggest rivals? I no claudio may be goin mad with all this pressure, but not THAT mad!! lol

what so when Depor scored first and pretty much ran the midfield in the first 15-20 mins you we're still thinking that Milan will win it??

Thats some insight..

I s'pose either way the final looks mouth watering and is gonna be a big improvement on last years!!

i was always confident of a milan win ;)
plus the fact milan were outplayed for 20 minutes then outplayed depor for the rest of the game shows there class
