Manchester United Thread
well seeing as though your the richest club in the world i think its time you flexed your financial muscles.
im afraid your not going to win anything when you continue to buy small players like djemba djemba etc, im sure theyre players for the future but since when have manyoo concentrated on winning things in the future?
they need to spend and get a few big names in, the current team just isnt good enough
i agree with all that

F*** me... Man United have a crap defence, and it's all the FAs fault to. If they had'nt band Rio, we would'nt be in this predicament!!!!!!!!!

If Rio hadnt f*cked about the FA wouldnt have banned him 8)

Anyway Neo, Wright-Phillips' goal wasn't a deflection

Sorry mate dats wot it said on sky sports!

:D

Haha, i'm sorry Man utd. This afternoon i was laughing at Man utd, but now.. Juve are in a a similar situation; Kicked out of the CL and having a poor domestic form..

The ill judged sale of David Beckham and the poor activity in the transfer market in the last 18 months has placed Man U significantly behind Arsenal. The signings made by Sir Alex in recent times reflect a club with limited ambition, not aspirations to be Premiership and European Champions. We was unlucky at times today but today there were no excuses, City and their endeavours and individual errors at the back once again, made them deserved of their win."

Like i said 4 weeks or so a go its going to get worse before it will get better for us.

G:(

Look mate, when you want to respond to what someone says click reply with quote :x

Sorry but it frustrates me

it's time to untie the red white and black ribbons on the premiership trophy, Shocking defensive errors today for the first 3 goals, second half we didnt have a sniff, What was he thinking playing Giggs up front !! fair enough early on in the season when Ole and Scholes were out injured, but Fergie went out and paid £12 million for a striker who didnt even make the bench today, a left winger up front and 3 strikers sat warming their arses on the bench!! some of his decisions this season have been mind boggling to say the least,I'm gonna have to keep my head down tomorrow now, thanx for that boys.

the 4-4-1-1 formation is dumb! is it a rugby formation or what! where is the good ol 4-4-2!!!!!
united is really missing something. that something special... like a ronaldinho or someone like that.... i felt worse then after the porto match!!!!! why!!!!!!!!!!!

i was dumbfounded when Fergie took off Giggs and Ronaldo...two of our two most creative players, and brought in Ole(he's aiight) and Forlan!!!! i lost hope then...has he lost it? maybe it right what G.Nev said,we may take a while before we turned great again..ala madrid...and milan....all yours arse-nal...

Props to Shaun Wright-Phillips,an immense talent, worked hard all day, superb stamina, running back and forth the right touchline...superb goal,no deflection in the end.Hopes he makes the England squad.

Nope it won us the Carling Cup. Used it all season as we dont have two decent strikers. 4-4-1-1 works if you have a creative midfield that gets forward. Personally i think Utd should be able to play with 4-4-1-1 given the players they have. Granted it aint the best but it does the job.

Being a lifelong Man Utd fan (but not anymore thanks to Ferguson and Keane), i have to say that i don't understand why he is lauded by people who know loads more of football than i do (last example Brian Clough in 4-4-2).
He 's coaching the most wealthy club in the world for ages now and what was the result in Europe: one (1!!!) CL victory....for a club as rich a Man Utd this isn't enough by far...howw impressive their EPL record may be...
And there is worse in my opinion. Man Utd have a long tradition of stylish players (Duncan Edwards, Charlton, Best, Law, Cantona, Jesper Olsen, Arnold Muhren, Steve Copell, Lee Sharpe, Ryan Giggs, Beckham and i must be forgetting dozens) and stylish victories. The last years under Ferguson Man Utd has to win at all costs with thuggery and without respect for their opponents (most recent example: Porto)...This is not good for the image of the club and (far more damaging) by his way of acting Ferguson seems more able to motivate Man Utd's opponents than his own players...
it's time the Man Utd board replace him by someone more competent imho... (but like i said, he is judged favourably by lot's of insiders...).

Feck me, I've not suffered like this for over ten years....

Our detractors are gonna have a field day with this, European exit and a derby battering in one week..

Not good at all!!

But I know we'll bounce back, we've hit rock bottom and maybe we needed to, I know some supporters need reminding what it feels like....

KEEP THE RED FLAG FLYING HIGH

i actually cant wait to see manyoo go out and spend big
i think they'll learn there lesson when they missed Ronaldinho, they missed out on a seriously massive player there

Stopped reading there, what aload of bollocks, you dont even deserve to post in this thread..

the greatest manager in our history and arguably the most influential player for us of the last 10 years have stopped you supporitng the team you've followed all your life...

do yourself a favour go grab some tissue and wipe the bullshit of ya top lip!!

I remember reading a report on Sky about United making making a bid of 26 million pounds for Torres signature and Madrid laughed off the offer. Probably because it involved Forlan going the other way.

I don't think buying lots of players is the solution for United. Maybe one big signing but it's a sad state of affairs if after one poor season, United feel they have to go on a spending spree.

Btw, the only club I can see van der Vaart going to in the summer is Barcelona. I suppose he would be a good buy though. He would take up Giggs place on the left as I can't see him dislodging Scholes out of his position any time soon.

united will always be weary of big buys after rio. paid all that money and the season later the ars fell out of the market after all united is a buisness now!

Vann i have always known you as a guy who can discuss seriously...
I understand your reaction. As a true fan you feel injured about what happens to Man Utd...and then this complete stranger (a Belgian!!!) is saying these things...
Perhaps you should have read the rest....
Ferguson isn't the best manager Man Utd have got IMHO, because in the years he was Man Utd manager the club was by far the richest in the world (and still is). That was not Fergusons work (the guy who is now at Chelsea, forgot his name). Despite being the manager of the richest club in the world he only managed to win the CL once... Mat Busby did it in a time when Man Utd was far from the richest club in the world....And Keane as the most influential player??? What about Schmeichel, Giggs, Beckham, Cantona and Scholes????

And one more thing Vann...why shouldn't i have the right to post in this thread??? I was a Man Utd fan long before they were a succesfull team (probably before you were born, as a matter of fact i decided to support them back in the 70's when they got relegated).

And i have sentimental tie with the club since i was born on the 6 th february (as a real fan i guess you know what that date means to Man Utd, if not be honest and admit it, but then i doubt you are a real Man Utd fan). I will always like Man Utd, but i'm not longer a fan...may i please.

No hard feelings Vann...

Gerd, I appreciate your post and I do apologise for attacking you yesterday.

Let me explain,

Being born and raised in Manchester means its very difficult to look on my club objectively, I actively follow the club and put time and effort into supporting the team regardless of the circumstances.

Your comments post derby, pissed me off, how any one can profess to be a lifelong fan and in the same sentence say they now no longer support the club because of Ferguson and Keane.

Ferguson took over the club at a time we we’re far from successful, yes we won the odd FA cup but we we’re very much a sleeping giant, we had always had a fantastic fan base and a gate of 50K even in the eighties was not unusual but due to liverpools dominance our trophy cabinet was bare.

You seem to think that Fergie is not worthy of his title as our best manager, for what reason, the wealth of our club, are you that blinkered that you cannot see that we are the richest club in the world because of Fergie, the backbone of success over the last 10 years has been players that Fergie moulded and took a risk on bringing thru the youth team and giving them first team action NOT players that he bought, how much money do you think Scholes, Giggs, Beckham, G.Neville, P. Neville, Butt, Brown, O’shea, would cost a team to buy.

Then you proceed to jump on the bandwagon re: Fergies CL record, yes we have only won it once, so what, since the CL was formed how many teams have won it more than once, look at Madrid, how many other teams have been better than them in Europe over the past few seasons, not many, so I refuse to say we’ve failed in Europe, we’ve won the CL we’ve completely dominated The Prem.

And I wont even go into why Keano is possibly the greatest United player of all time.

I also do not appreciate you implying that I don’t know my history; Feb 6th is a very sombre time for United supporters, especially Mancunians. If you saw my avatar and sig you’d know how I feel about the Busby Babes.

So as you said no hard feelings, though I seriously doubt your “support” of my club but maybe our definition of support is different so we’ll leave it at that.

I’m not sure of your age but you must be older than me if you can remember us getting relegated as I was born that year (on Feb 5th as well!!)

You know who we need to buy PUYOL!!!!!!!!!

A leader, wears his heart on his sleeve and affordable!

He's the sort of defender we need, cant see him leaving Barca though.
I can if the money is right and the club! Barcelona are still in debt but they also have money too spend which is fucking weird!!

I heard they need too sell dont know how true that is but if they dont get into the CL then just maybe although they are ALOT better than last year!

I agree with ya Vann, You can't call yourself a supporter of a team if you are willing to ditch them after bad patch. Keane and Fergie have been part of and still are part of a great side.
Granted it has been a poor season due to high standards set, but you can't win everything all of the time.
Gerd you should stick with your side cos im sure Fergie knows where it has gone wrong and will remedy it to have United at the top of the tree again next season.
