What a dive by Ronaldo! :applause:

I'd give it 9.5

Fuckin' ell Cockender you've got some balls coming in here spouting off about dodgy decisions after your game against the spuds yesterday. 1st goal offside , 2nd Goal clean tackle /never a pen, and 3rd Goal Van Persie handball. You Cheeky bastard ;o)

plus don't forget Eboue play-acting against bolton Davies pushed
him on the chest and he was helding his head like someone headbutted him(yes i know exactly like Robben did one year ago against Pool)

You just enjoy attacking other teams, dont you?

If all you can do is moan about players that played for us in the past then you need to come up with something a bit better than that.

Ronaldo dived not once but twice. He conned the ref and for Ferguson to say it was a pen is disgraceful, its there for all to see that they was no contact. At least Wenger had the honesty to say our pens were a bit fotunate.

Well if your replies are gonna be as smart as "Would that be the Robert Pires that plays for Villareal?", then thats all you're gonna get.

Oh God, do we really need to get started on Wenger's honesty?

I'd like to jump in...Ronaldo did dived but there was intent from Schwarzer to bring him down with a tackle. My view is that,in trying to avoided the tackle,Ronaldo lost balance and shaaazaaammmm!!..He dived,if thats what you wanna hear.Whats your view on Rosicky's dive to earn that very much important first penalty against the spuds Clockender?

Difference is that Chimbonda slid in from behind and took the ball then he took Rosicky so its an iffy penalty but there was contact, unlike Ronaldo's.

Whats your view then Rune on the Ronaldo penalty?

I personally think he dived. But he easily could have fell over trying to avoid being fouled by the keeper. Its just that he's Ronaldo so he's not gonna get the benefit of the doubt.
But atleast he has a case here. Put yourself in Ronaldo's position. What else was he supposed to do? Let the keeper whack him and hurt himself and then get the penalty?

With Rosicky's incident, there was contact on the ball before the player so in no way is that a foul. If you got the ball, its a fair tackle. Again, put yourself in Chimbonda's position this time. If you were gonna tackle the player, how else were you supposed to do it other than the way he did?

Does no one on here actually play a sport? Test this next time you have open space, run at absolute full tilt, then change directions quickly and then imagine for some reason you can't plant your foot where you thought you'd be able to. Like, pretend there's a big Australian goalie's leg in the way. Ronaldo tried to avoid contact, tried to steady himself with his hands, but fell onto the ball and down. If he'd wanted to 'con' a pentaly he woudl have touched the ball to the side and just let the Swarzer take him down. Gareth Southgate has some nerve saying the goalie did everything he could to avoid touching him...erm if it wasn't one of hte most agile and quick footed palyers on earth the goalie would have gone right through him, Swarzer had committed and gone to ground, Ronaldo tried to dodge out fo the way, failed because Swarzer blocked his path.

And seriously, if anyone needs refreshing of the rules, just look up all the English pundits backing Stevie G with his penatly against Sheffield. Exactly the same rule, exactly the opposite persecution by the press. Such bull.

Bollocks.

The lot of you trying to justify it its bollocks.

Yes gerrard dives, i've seen Owen dive once for a pen in the WC v Argentina. gerrard does it but not that often, so dont bracket him with that cheating get Ronaldo. Yeah i agree Arsenal and Chelsea have had their fair share over the years, Limpar in particular was a cheat.

We had Diouf, and the crowd hated him for his antics. the crowd hate Garcia for his antics too when he could be using the ball better than taking an easy fall. Anyone who is a regular at Anfield like myself will tell you so. its downright Embarrasing.

And beachryan, the difference between gerrards pen and ronaldos is ronaldos known for taking a tumble to get advantage gerrard isnt.

Oh and i do play, have played at a high level, if theres no contact theres no pen. With a keeper its difficult becuase he can dive. it wasnt a pen at sheffield and it wasnt a pen at teeside.

How many high profile dives will Gerrard have to take before he becomes known for it?

I'm not trying to justify it, his dive against boateng was a disgrace. I just honestly don't believe the penatly 'dive' was intentional, nor as blatant as people make it out to be.

You are missing the point though, Chimbonda tackled from behind, wasn't that supposed to be outlawed? So thats a foul then. The problem is some ref's give it so don't. Like I said it was an iffy penalty but there was an element of foul play, the tackle from behind and there was contact.

Antred has it right, I hate it when I see Eboue rolling around on the floor after a tackle its embarrassing and its whats wrong with the game these days. The snid tricks to get an advantage or to put the opposition at a disadvantage. I hate it.

Going back to Ronaldo, until the FA actually do something about this using video (like a 3 game ban) then the problem will remain. I really think that this is the only way to deal with the issue. Its not the first time its happened this season either, remember Zokora v Pompey, shocking

EVERYBODY is mentioning how Ronaldo dives and moans...didnt anybody noticed that his freekick stance is somewhat getting better? and how cool and composed is he in setting up our winning goal?? Nope,I bet the haters didnt notice...I'm happy he dived to win us a penalty bearing in mind the countless number of fouls going against him...

Im really impressed by watching United lately, the football as been brilliant and not only that when the opposition score theres no panicking like past seasons. The Middlesboro game is another example of where points would have been dropped in other seasons. Next 2 games are really massive, qualification is a must, shouldnt even be in this situation. Then the derby next week where its another test on the team and how they have improved from seasons before. 9 points infront of Chelsea if they win, now thats got to be alarm bells

This sort of attitude is what is wrong with the game, this is probably what some of the players are thinking as well.

We have had players that have dived to win penalties and whilst these things even out over a season, it don't mean it is right.

Its not outlawed, its just asking for trouble cuz naturally, the first thing you're gonna make contact with is the player. But in this case, he got the ball. So yeah, it wasnt a foul.
